Author Fan Letter Blog Crawl Kick Off

I have been invited to participate in the Author Fan Letter Blog Crawl from Kassa. 

I am among some wonderful bloggers... and the event has already begun...

So I wanted to give you all a heads up on what it is.... This is from Kassa's place.....

 

The concept is actually simple and I tried not to muck it up with too many complications. Each blog writes their letter as they would to their author of choice. It can be about a favorite book, series, or just the author’s work in general that has meaning to the reader. They then tag the next blogger in line. The next blogger posts their fan letter the next day and so on. Hopefully all the organization will pay off *crosses fingers* and everything will happen smoothly.

I encourage everyone to follow the crawl and hopefully it’s a nice give back from us demanding readers. No doubt there are blogs I missed that want to participate and feel free to post your own letter! If you send me a link I’ll be making a composite post with all the fan letters at the end of the crawl and can add everyone who participated.

I was asked to review this book by the author ~ all thoughts expressed here are my own.

I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said....

This book is roughly under 130 pages and let me tell you... Ms. Julian makes use of all of them. This was the first book I had ever read by Ms. Julian and it will not be my last. She is a new to me author, so I am very excited to introduce to her here at the Lair!

Tamara is a very strong willed woman. Having survive an attack and putting her attacker in the hospital with a coma, I would say she is a very determined woman. Afraid her attacker will come out of the coma and come after her... she hits the pavement running. She founds a piece of family property no one knows about (hopefully) and she seeks refuge there.

Kyle... oh man.. Let me just give you this quote that will give you a glimpse of Kyle. This is taken from a conversation between Kyle and his King... about Tam.... "“I’m relieving you of duty for the next twenty-four hours,” Cole called to him just as he stepped into the hall. “Go, make sure she’s safe. Bring her back ’cause I want to meet the woman who brought down the mighty Kyle Rossini.”  Kyle is a lucani versipellis, born from a long line of Etruscan wolf skin-shifters. 

When Tam moved out to her family's property, she was merely trying to run away from her demons; she never expecting to run into more. She was seeking peace and quiet, a place to hide and not be noticed. Instead what she got was anything and everything other than that.
Kyle was fine with the way his life was going. His position in the "army" was just fine with him. He has a daughter who he absolutely adores, a best friend who he could count on day or night and the mother of his child and wife/mate to his best friend. What more could a man ask for, or so that is what he thought until he encountered Tamara.

Kyle and Tamara's story take us on a wild ride... One you will not soon forget. Tamara's world gets turned upside down and inside out within the blink of an eye. Her world of just the plain jane turns into so much more. Tamara witnesses firsthand at what a magical world is like. She is not one to believe in a HEA, does she want one.. sure what woman does not want one. But after her attack, she considers herself to be broken, no good. What I admired about Tam is her spirit. Even though she was dealt some crappy cards in life, she did not try to play the victim card.
Kyle never thought love was meant for him - the assassin for the King. He is a supreme bad-ass, except around his daughter. Thanks to her and her pushness, Kyle met Tam. And even though she is only a human, something called to him - the man and wolf. He wanted her, to have, to hold, to mate, to everything. But he could not figure out why. He never had these feelings before - so why now, why with a human.

Is Tamara the one that will get through to his lonely heart and make him give up everything for? Is Kyle the one that will save her from her demons? How strong does love really have to be to over come all? 

This book is an explosive start to an amazing series. The characters come alive with every line that is written. You can feel the emotions (all of them, the love, the hate, the violence, the devotion...)  flowing though the pages. You could also feel the steam coming off the pages when you read the love scenes (be warned you may singe your fingertips). The action scenes were not spared any details either. There is never a dull moment in the book. I can thoroughly say that I truly enjoyed Ms. Julian' writing style and I am very excited to be starting book two... Cuz let me just tell you now.... You get the biggest tease of your life... This woman is good!!!! **evil laughter**

And fyi.... Yea... Kyle is a Sex on a Stick man!!!!!

I do have to say against my own rule, I wish I had more of Tam and Kyle's relationship! They remind me of Charles and Anna from Ms. Patricia Briggs's Alpha & Omega series! Yes, that is how awesome this book is and these two characters are.

I know my tribal members greeted you well the other day, 

but I wanted to officially welcome you to the Smutty Hussy Lair!!!! 

I found Monroe with a Twist's blog though another blogger friend who was kind enough to introduce this new place to me. Once I went there... I was hooked!!! I have been stalking her for almost a year now.... Yea well, at least I can admit my stalkeristic habits!! LMBO! Anyway.... I became one of her followers. Her reviews rock. She keeps them very honest and real to her opinion. Sometimes she can not help herself with giving a little more than she should, but at least she gives us a warning when she does want to spill the beans, lmbo! And the snippets she gives leaves me wanting more. Her reviews make me laugh, tear up... and fall in love with all kind of novels! As she grew, she became a part in Breezing Through's blog.

Over the course of this year... we would email each other every once in a while... Or hit each other up on google chat... but we never really got close until a few months ago....

One email set the whole thing off... and our friendship has been instant! She has quickly become one of my best friends!!!! But enough from me, let's welcome Monroe!!!

Welcome Monroe! How has your first few nights been at the Lair?? Is the staff treating you well??

Monroe: Oh yes they are! A few have needed *ahem* more attention than others but you know how giving I can be :)

Oh that I do know.... has my hussiness already worn off on your... You were a good girl, who only showed a little leg.... lmbo! Now look at you, lol!

Monroe:  I know... I have to admit being in this house...woowee...makes me hot under the collar! But I think I'm coming into my own with all the men...and of course you my dear have shown me the ropes!

**Does a hussy blush, lol. I don't think so!**

Okay, so tell us a little about yourself hon....

Monroe:  Well I'm a Florida girl... lived there my entire life until my man up and asked me to marry him AND to follow him to Georgia... which I did! :) We've been married 4 years this November... no kids yet! I always hated reading but about 3 years ago picked up a book and haven't put them down since! What book did I pick up...lol Ok I know this sounds odd but George Orwells 1984. Since then I've expanded my reading SO MUCH! I think my first love for romance however was Rachel Gibson... See Jane Score! And when I started blogging I found so much more was out there! I'm not much of a hussy... ok I am but it takes people (like you my Cecile) to bring it out in me. The ladies at Breezing Through found me and adopted me...now Ive come full circle and ended up here! I feel like I'm in the lions den! :) I'm uber excited to be here!

Well, I am uber excited to have you here as well!!! You know I love bring out the hussy in people!!! But you know what they say about the quiet ones... Those are the one's you have to watch! So you are a new reader too... Twilight is brought me out my reading hole. So.... some of you may be wondering why did you wonder over here to the Hussy Lair... Monroe:  Well, I found you through commenting on my blog and came over! I realized soon enough we were interested in the same books! Then I was the stalker! lol Then that one little lovely day when you emailed me...well it all just fell into place!

Funny what an email can do huh... lol! :)

Well, let's talk books shall we?!?! I guess the more important question is what kind of books do you read??

Monroe:  Oh jeez... let's see... anything romancy! lol I love Paranormal Black Dagger Brothers, Georgina Kincaid, Sookie Stackhouse, Mercy Thompson, Psy/Changling Series etc. Contemporaries are a MUST in any romance lover... Rachel Gibson, Jill Shalvis, Jenny Crusie, Linda Howard, Susan Donovan, Victoria Dahl etc, *sigh* historicals such as Mary Balogh, Diana Gabaldon, Judith McNaught...needless to say I'm all over the place!

I see that, my first love is paranormal (romance)... (with a mixtures of erotic and bdsm)... then historical... then contemporaries... Yea, I am kinky that way, lol.

Monroe:  Not a surprise hun...NOT AT ALL! lol

So, okay... let's dig a little deeper. You recently reviewed a Megan Hart book.... Was that one of your first erotic novels?? ((silently thanking Ames for sending that box to you)) Are you hoping to expand in your erotic reading? Do you blush easily? A hussy must know these things...

Monroe: Well yes…in a way. Ive only read a few really. I started off with Colters Woman by Maya Banks! And YOWZA! Lol three men and one woman…what a way to start off my erotica reading! I really am hoping to expand my erotica readings. I really think your blog will push this along! Im not a shy girl…I mean Im 25…Ive had some *clears throat* experiences, but I was always bias against erotica until I started reading people like Maya Banks, Lauren Dane…MEGAN HART that showed me just because its erotica doesn’t mean it cant have heart in the story!

One thing I haven’t read is m/m…lol I just…idk…Ive read one but it didn’t hit the spot for me so needless to say the jury is still out on those books.

Are you open to reading any more m/m books? What about f/f books??

Monroe: Hmmm…well…yes…Ive had a TON of friends trying to sway me to but I think getting me warm and fuzzy in erotica is first on the list! Lol As long as theres heart in a story (mixed with a bit of naughtiness) then Im game! ;) Ill need plenty of recommendations though…Im sure all of yall could help in that area!

What do you hope to bring to the Hussy Lair?

Monroe: Well I really hope to bring my quirkiness and personality that I do in my reviews and chats! Ive really gotten my “voice” and personality through embracing my readings lately and I want to show everyone that! Also one thing I don’t do much is discuss the things we all sorta think while reading…like for example: Do you hold your ethics (and expect your characters to) when reading or is it a no rules kinda deal with you? …Btw that discussion is in the works ;) But ya through all of this Im wanting to expand my mind (and yours) with discussions and great STEAMY reviews!    

You will bring some diversity over to the Hussy Lair... Are you prepared??

Monroe: OH YES I AM! *evil grin…I really am excited about all the things that are going on over here! We have such a great time doing everything else ;) I know it’ll shine through in our reviews!

A New Resident to the Lair

Here at the Hussy Lair, there has been rumors floating around amongst the staff that there will be a new resident moving in.

The tribe has been a bit moody with this smack talk going around.

They are not to happy thinking of having another male around the house.

A house they claim as their own... no sirrree.. They are not happy..

But a new resident is what is happening to the Lair...

Someone is moving in....

This is the story...

One beautiful day at the Hussy Lair, all was calm and peaceful. The weather was beautiful - which made the gardeners and landscapers very happy... The pool was clear and blue - which made my pool boys excited. The men were cleaning the house and my cook was in the kitchen.. you could smell apple pie baking... it was just euphoric!
Out of no where, the Butler heard the door bell. He has just served Smutty her Mai Tai in the Book Room... "Smutty, are you expecting company," he asked very puzzled.
Smutty glared up at her butler with a mischievous grin... "Yes, I am actually... After you answer the door, please have a glass of Sangria ready for our guest." He looked confused because Smutty always kept him informed. Off to answer the door... with Smutty on his heels....
He answered the door (yes, that always answers the door in his towel) and what did his eyes behold...........

It was Monroe With A Twist

"Welcome to Smutty Hussy Lair ma'am. May I help you?" the Butler asked a little confused.
"Yes you may," Ms. Monroe looks around with wide eyes to make sure she has the right address. "I am here to see Ms. Hussy please. I think I have the right address." Knowing she must of had the right address, because who else would have a butler like that... oh yum.
The butler interrupts her thoughts, "Please come in." He looks down and noticed her luggage... LUGGAGE??!?!? "Umm, excuse me, what would like to me do with your ummm... luggage ma'am?"

Upon cue, Ms. Smutty pipes up... relief flooded the butler's face... He had no idea what Smutty had up her sleeve.... "Butler, just bring them inside for now. Round up the tribe and the servants please and meet us in the library with that glass of Sangria I asked for."

Oh my gosh... it dawned on him... This woman is going to be the resident Smutty had been talking about... OMG.... Again relief flooded him... He let out a breath he did not realize he was holding... Thank Gawd it was not another man.... Funny how men can be so territorial.
