Review: Galaxy Girls by Edie Ramer

Galaxy Girls
Edie Ramer

Genetically created to be broodmares, Phyrne Galaxy and her mother, aunt and cousin don’t need men, they need freedom. They escaped from the warring planet of Kergeron to Earth, where Phyrne’s aunt’s vision of winning money in a New Jersey casino comes true. Too bad her aunt’s precog didn’t show the hoods waiting outside with guns. But Phyrne has her own weapon, more powerful than bullets. She’s ovulating.
Phyrne turns up the heat, taking out more than the crooks in her wave of sexual torture. FBI Special Agent Hawk Higgens, running to protect the women, is brought to his knees, too. Caught in her procreative spell, Phyrne ravishes Hawk.
Being seduced by an alien and left half naked and unconscious in the back of a surveillance van changes Hawk’s life. He joins the Foundation, a privately funded agency that hunts aliens. Six years later, the reason for his career change pops back on the radar in a tea shop in Kentucky. The woman whose face still haunts his dreams has an addition to her family – a five-year-four-month-old daughter.
At the same time, two Kergeron warriors are sent to Earth to bring the women back to their home planet. With an ex-FBI agent and two alien warriors on her trail, Phyrne’s calm life running the Tea & Comfort shop is about to get shaken, stirred and screwed.

I obtained the above information from Ms. Edie Ramer's website!

Ms. Edie Ramer is a great author. She is sure to make you giggle and smile as much as fall in love with her characters. She is very crafty with her story lines and character development. Her stories always entertain me. She brings such a sense of humor to her stories that bring them alive.

This story is a little different than the past stories I have read of Ms. Ramer's. As this one is a sy-fy story. When you start reading this story be prepared to venture out of this world. I'm really hoping that this is the start of a wonderful series because Ms. Edie set this up great for more to come.

The story gives you all the background you need to know the who, what, when, where and why's of everyone and still leaves you wondering what will happen to the rest of the gang  We meet Phyrne sister's who are just as bad as Phyrne herself. You learn what family means and just what these women are willing to do to protect their own. We also meet a man name Hawk who will rock Phyrne's world and change the course of her life forever... But what about her heart? Hawk wasn't prepared for the aftershocks of what meeting Phyrne would do to his work either...

Who would have thought once chance encounter with a being from another world would change Hawk's life forever... He would spend the next six years scouring the earth for the one woman who shock to the core and left him with more questions than answers.

This truly is a great story. One that will teach you a few things about the other world and maybe a few things about your own, lol.

On my own note, the names were a little difficult to pronounce, but I kept in mind this is an sy-fy story.

Fly-By Review: Dragon Blues by Edie Ramer

Once a dragon…

Saxophone player Noah Long shifted from dragon to human 2500 years ago, but the dragon blood still coursing through his veins has kept him healthy and virile. Now his secret is out, and the man who discovered it will do anything to make Noah’s blood his own. Noah’s only ally is martial arts expert Lila Fox, who heats up the fire in his belly…and his heart.

Twice a killer…

Lila Fox’s first kill was at age sixteen after her stepfather put her mother in a wheelchair. Fourteen years later, she kills another abuser to save a woman’s life. When the man who wants Noah’s blood kills her sister, she can’t let the death go unanswered. She teams up with the strangely compelling Noah, and discovers he’s not all man and has a few tricks of his own.

I have obtained the above information from Ms. Ramer's website.

Now this story is not short by no measure... it comes in at 177 pages... but it is a good read - it will go quick!

Ms. Ramer did it again; allowing me to escape into a kick ass heroine's life. But the hero is what intrigued me the most... A dragon! Oh yea, Ms. Ramer put a spin on the normal every day life; giving us a little more danger and a lot more loving in Dragon Blues. But I will tell you this... I want a dragon of my own!

Lila is one chick I would always want on my side. She is a strong, capable woman to do anything and everything on her own. Never needing anyone's help. Never caving to the demands of a man - or anyone for that matter. But her one weakness is her sister.... Her only family left. Half way across the continent - Izzy would change her and Lila's life once and for all. I admire Lila's determination to protect her family, no matter what the past brought them through.

Noah is a man bent on living his life alone. Keeping his secret safe and sound is all he cares about... that and his treasures. He has lived many lives and seen many things... but when Izzy walks into his life... Well, he thought he has seen anything or been through everything. Izzy might have brought him strife, but she also brings him Lila... Something he has always needed, but just never knew...

This story is a good, comfy read. Ms. Ramer keeps the tense hot and always tight.... She keeps the action rolling - in all directions. This story has more twist and turns which will keep you on your toes! Ms. Ramer ~ great job... and of course I cannot wait till the next Dragon book comes out to see where you take me for that ride of a lifetime!

Review: Dead People by Edie Ramer

Book one in the Haunted Heart series

When Cassie Taylor talks, ghosts listen. She wants to heal their souls so they can leave earth. Brooding songwriter Luke Rivers wants to give his recently found daughter a normal home, but he discovers his new house in small town Wisconsin is haunted by a ghost with an attitude. His ghost whisperer has an attitude too—even before someone tries to kill her.

He wants conventional; she wants acceptance. No wonder she thinks men are hard and dead people are easy.

DEAD PEOPLE excerpt

You can find songs written by Luke and excerpts from Cassie’s book on the Extras page.

I obtained the above information from Ms. Edie's website.
I was given this book for review from Ms. Edie for my honest thoughts and opinions.. So here goes!

Ms. Edie did it again with a book that took me by surprise and made me smile! And for those of you that have read the blurb and seen that it is not an erotic book - yes, I finished it all the way and loved it. Surprised, I know! But Ms. Edie really did a great job with Catittude that I had to see if she could give me more, lol. And she did. This is a very intriguing book to say the least. I mean you have a whole slue of things going on... Not in a bad way either. They all work for the greater of the book.

Like Cassie for instance... she can talk to ghost. Which on the rating of a trait you want your girlfriend to have is not the highest on the list. So, Cassie has been dateless for around four years. In the mean time, Joe... a hot cop - a dead hot cop has become her best friend.

What I really liked about this book was that Ms. Edie jumped right in there with the story. We find Cassie talking to Joe in the first chapter. And it went from there. We see the interaction between the two and it really made me think... Can ghost love? Cassie won me over because she just wanted someone who wanted her for her whole self. Not what she could do for them, not for half of herself and not to sell herself out. She believed in herself (with Joe's pushing, lol), she accepted what she is a long time ago... Now it is time to see if anyone else wanted to accept her. But putting her heart out there was not something Cassie wanted to do. At least that is what she thought until she met Luke Rivers...

Who.. yeah, Luke Rivers... you know the guitar player of that hot band a while back. Cassie did not know him or care to know him. She was at his house, by his request to take care of a ghost that would not leave him or his daughter alone. Luke is not your typical hero of a story. He had me whispering to myself "dumb ass," then he would have me thinking... you are an ass... Then he would have me in a little puddle over what he wanted to achieve for his daughters sake. Erin....

Now normally I do not do books with children in them, but I have to say that Ms. Edie did this very tastefully. So much so that I truly wanted to take Erin home with me and love her to death. She is not a brat, she is not a princess. She is a child who had a junkie mother, lead singer of the same band her dad came from. A child who was lied to - from her mother. Then when Erin almost witnessed the death of an overdose... she called 911 and it changed Erin's life forever... not just hers... Luke's as well.

Then we have Ms. Shay, the ghost that is haunting the house. She is quite a pain till Cassie figures out how to handle Ms. Shay. Now I will tease you a bit, Ms. Edie had me giggling at a part in the book when Ms. Shay and Cassie discuss Cassie's sex life.... or lack of one! That is all I can tell you! LMBO! Ms. Shay does not want to leave her house - end of story. Luke wants her out - period. Cassie is hired to gt rid of her - new story just waiting to happen, lol. How does this end.. humm... I am not sure. Okay, I am sure, I just can't tell you. But I will give you this. This is an amazing fun loving book. Ohhhh and yes, in case you are wondering, I did get my smutty sex fix! Ms. Edie does that very well. She held the sexual tension just right for a "family" story and then BAM gave it to me, lmbo!!!

This book left me laughing my butt off at some parts, feeling the need to smack Luke upside the head a couple of times, wishing that Joe was a real man, giggling over Hunk, wanting to cradle Erin to my heart and love her, and it left me really wanting to kick Tracy's ass. Ms. Edie pulled a lot of emotion from the reader of this book. She gave me everything and then some. Luke and Erin's story will leave you wondering is it really easier dealing with ghost or... men?!

Ms Edie, your writing is quite refreshing and I am loving it up!! Oh and also... I am looking forward (batting eyelashes) for more to come!!!

Interview & Giveaway with Edie Ramer

Today, we have the pleasure of having a new author here at the Lair!

Ladies and Gents, please give a warm welcome to

**Ms. Edie Ramer**

Ms. Edie and I met a while back at Ms. Lori Brighton's blog and I have followed her ever since.

She is a wonderful person and I am tickled that she wanted to come over to the Lair.

Shall we get this show on the road....

Welcome Ms. Edie and thank you for coming over today!

Cecile, thanks so much for the invite. You have a cool place here. Very nice, er, decorations.

Oh, thank you... I love my, er, decorations! So, how have you been doing?

Great! It’s a fun and thrilling time.

What has been been keeping you busy?

Promoting my book. Getting ready to put my next book up. Reading other people’s books. Family stuff. Walking my dogs. Worshipping my cat. Making a chocolate cake that didn’t quite turn out, but we’re eating it anyway.

I love my puppies... but I so want a kittie! Okay... Tell us a little about yourself... Wait... That you have not shared with anywhere else! Ha! Gotcha!

LOL I’m the middle child of five kids, all of us close in age. For my first ten years, I shared a bedroom with my two sisters. I think that taught me at a young age to be open. I recently shared online one thing that I’ve kept to myself. I’ve had four agents. I was afraid I’d scare other agents away, but now that I’ve gone indie I don’t care.

Okay, I am going to jump right in this... Cattitude! Tell us your story on this unique story. I love the spin you put on the point of view!

I love my cat. She’s loving and unique and brave and fast (I’ve seen her kill mice). I thought that would be great qualities for a heroine. Before this, I’d been writing mysteries (I’ve had numerous short stories published in mystery magazines), so I came to romance with my own spin. I definitely put my spin on Cattitude.

Here’s the blurb:

It’s all in the Cattitude . . .
After Belle the cat switches bodies with a psychic on the run from a murderer, she wants her perfect cat body back instead of this furless human one. But she doesn’t count on falling in love with her former owner. Or that a CEO and a beauty queen want to use up her nine lives. Now is her chance to prove anything a human can do, a cat can do better.

Can you tell us a little about Max and Belle (that does not give away the story)?

Max thinks he has to take care of everyone, even when they don’t want him to. And at the same time, he wants to live his own life. Just as he’s about to step away from his caretaker role, this…woman comes into his life. She’s been in an accident outside his home and refuses to let him take her to the hospital. He’s compelled to help her until he finds someone else to take over the job.

Belle has attitude in her cat body and her new human one. She’s not going to the hospital or the police or anywhere. Max’s home is her home, and no one is going to make her leave. Unless they kill her first…

Do you see yourself expanding this story into a series? If so... who next ~ Ted or Tory?!

You’re the third person to ask me this in one day. I don’t have plans, but maybe I should!

Well, this is because this a story that has two people screaming for their own story! And I mean... I would love to see what I can do with Ted, I mean what you could write about Ted... What has your attention now... Just give us just a tease??

My next book, Dead People, will be up soon, before Halloween, I hope. I just got the cover, and I LOVE it. I’m trying to think up a short blurb for the cover and it’s driving me crazy. The book is darker than Cattitude, but it still has a heroine with attitude. I think all my heroines have attitude. Hmm, that probably says something about me.

Do you have anything coming up.... (I read something at Blodeuedd's place... **big grin**)?

I hope you mean Dead People. My next book after that will be a dragon story.

Here’s the blurb for Dead People:

A sexy ghost whisperer thinks the scariest people are the living.

His ghost whisperer has an attitude too — even before someone tries to kill her. So why does he have the hots for her? And why does she lust after him? He wants conventional; she wants acceptance. No wonder she thinks men are hard and dead people are easy.

What are you reading now?

I’m reading two books. Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie, and a non-fiction book for writers on marketing. I haven’t gotten very far with the second one.

Ohhhhh, I read Maybe This Time by Jennifer Cruise. It is a great book! You will enjoy it! Okay..... I know you have not been to the Lair before... This is when we get *cough* personal!
And remember, it is Halloween and my Birthday..... here we go....

***Do you hear that wicked laughter floating around the Lair***

Yes, I do hear wicked laughter. It echoes too. Very odd. And Happy Birthday!!!!!! I’m an October baby, too.

Cats or Dogs? I have both. But since my cat is in front of me, trying to play with my mouse, I’ll say her. And right now, she’s shedding less than the others, so that puts her on top.

Vampires or Werewolves? Werewolves. I like animals.

What do you give out for Halloween? We only buy what we like to eat, so Snickers is at the top of the list.

What would we find.......
On your night stand? Nothing. We only have one, and it’s on my husband’s side.

Hummmm... maybe I should have asked what is on your hubs night stand! **snickers**
Under your bed? I’ve looked recently! Just to make sure our cat hadn’t hacked up anything down there. No hairballs, but a lot of cat hair. Good thing we’re not allergic.

In your closet? A mess! I keep thinking I need to organize it. My husband has the neat closet.

What was your best birthday present ever? My birthday is coming soon, too. My husband is so bad at presents. The best presents he buys are the ones I pick out myself. When we were first married, he bought me a giant stuffed cat. I still have it. Every once in a while, I think of giving it away, but I never do.

If you could be one super hero - who would you be and why? When I was a child, I wanted to be Supergirl. I daydreamed of flying and saving people. I’d still like to fly, and I guess I could save people too. I’d be Superwoman, though. I don’t want to go back to being a girl.

Okay my boys want to welcome you t the Lair ~ Tribal Style!

Hard or Soft? Soft! (I think. It depends on what you’re talking about.)

Sweet or Sour? Sweet. I’m a sugar addict.

Whip Cream or Chocolate Style? That’s a tough one. I can’t make that choice. Why not both?

Bites or Nips? Hmm. Don’t like pain. I’d prefer neither.

Oral or.... I think it’s time to stop being open. lol

Okay boys... It is time to wrap this up. You are making Ms. Edie blush ten shades of red!

Ms. Edie, I want to thank you so much for coming over to my place today! And I am truly hoping you had a great time!!!

Cecile, I had a terrific time! These are the most interesting questions I’ve gotten.

I am so happy to say that Ms. Edie is so kind to giveaway two of ecopies of Cattitude!

What I want from you.....

If you could be one super hero ~ who would be and why????

Remember to leave an email address, so I can get in touch with you!

Review Cattitude by Edie Ramer

It’s all in the CATTITUDE . . .

After Belle the cat switches bodies with a psychic on the run from a murderer, she wants her perfect cat body back instead of this furless human one. But she doesn’t count on falling in love with her former owner. Or that a CEO and a beauty queen want to use up her nine lives. Now is her chance to prove anything a human can do, a cat can do better.

I obtained the information from Ms. Edie's website.

I was also given the book for my honest review.... So here we go!

Let me start off by saying this is my first Edie Ramer story. and I can promise you this won't be my last! This story is non stop with plotting vengeance or seduction, scheming for one thing or another, some major kicking ass, some hot lusting and guaranteed giggles!

At first, I had issues with the way characters were kinda put out there right out the gate. It was not a bad thing, it had more to do with me and my recent reading habits. I have been reading two person books... maybe three... So, I was not in the frame of mind to read and remember all these characters. I actually put it down for a little while. Okay... it was only like for about an hour because I simply had to know what happened to Belle and Max. Ms. Edie did an awesome job of roping me in! And I am very happy to report that I am very glad I kept reading.... This truly is a delightful read!

I have to say this is a very interesting book. Ms. Edie kept me guessing what the hell was going to happen next, who was going to do what or when they would do it. I mean I literally could not put the book down once I wrangled in all the characters and knew who was who and what or who they were after.

And I really do not want to give away too much... because one tip off and a spoiler would slip out (I promise). So, I will leave you with this...

Belle is sassy, funny, honest and a cat or was a cat. She is unlike any.... woman you'll ever meet. But believe me when you get to know her - cat or woman - you will want her to be on your side. And her love for Max is very ferocious!

Max, oh man oh man... Max! **Happy dance and girlie parts happy too** He is the oldest in his family. Ted and Tory are his younger siblings. Their father passed away when Max was approaching his teenager years. Leaving him with the last works along the line of "take care of them Max." Ummm, I am not sure about you, but those are some big shoes to fill. So from that point on forward, Max had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Always helping out everyone, giving of himself, giving up for others to have. Oh and did I mention that he is also a multimillionaire. So you can only imagine every woman and their Mama's would be after him.

Now let's meet Caroline. OMG.... she is a bitch and she deserves everything she gets and more in my opinion. She was married to Max's cousin. But he met an untimely death and he leaves Caroline broke. That is all I can say about her without giving her character away. Oh, I will say she definitely adds to the drama!!!

Ted and Tory are Max's siblings and I would love to see them get their own story (hint... hint...)! Ted is the younger brother by seven years and let's just say that he never hides what is on his mind.... and you might find it hard to believe how much he thinks of sex, lmbo! He is regarded as the fun loving brother, the one who really smiles!
Now Tory is the baby sister. She moved away to sprout her wings and grow! She is striving to become an actress in New York. But when the crap hits the fans at Max's house... Tory comes down to investigate for herself (and her Mom paid for her plane tickets, lol)!

Sorcha is a psychic that someone wants dead. After witnessing the death of her finance, the killer is on her heels (oh I should say wheels).... Sorcha wrecks her car and in that one instance..... her life is drastically changed. For the better or the worst... only Sorcha knows!

There are a few more characters for you to meet and they all add their own spice to the story! Ms. Edie truly kept me reading, cheering, holding my tears and breath back and giggling throughout the whole book! This is truly an entertaining, heart warming, very delightful book!
Ms. Edie did an awesome job with this one and I will waiting for more!!!

Stay tune tomorrow because Ms. Edie will be making an appearance at the Lair!!!!!

And remember... Keep it Dirty, Smutty & Hussy!
