Review: Bound and Determined by Desiree Holt

A TOYS-4-US Story

Bound and Determined
By: Desiree Holt

Alix Townsend, uptight, high-powered litigation attorney, has a wild side she rarely unleashes. Deep inside, beneath her tailored suits and frosty image, beats the heart of a woman who dreams of the kinkiest kinds of sex. Preferably with her next door neighbor, Mack Taylor.

When hot, hunky Mack saw his mouthwatering neighbor looking over an array of sex toys on her patio, he was instantly hard and ready for the kind of erotic adventures with her he’d been dreaming about. A weekend of kinky sex took them both to new heights of sensual satisfaction, but could they take it beyond that or had the hours been so hot they burned themselves out?

I obtained the above information from Authorisland.com

*So, all thoughts and comments regarding this book are solely mine!*

For those of you that know me... and those that don't this is my little statement about short books.... I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review....

Ms. Desiree Holt is a new to me author! I have to say that I will be going on a search for more of her books! Her writing has charm, passion, suspense, hot men, leading ladies.... and of course hot sex! It was a real pleasure to read Bound and Determined.... And believe, I was Bound and Determined to finish this book!

Ms. Holt sets the stage by Alix having a girls weekend with a little party.... A Fun Party! The weekend was over and everyone was leaving... That is when Mack made his appearance.... And that is when the fun really started!

This is a short story... But I promise you, you will enjoy every page. It was really amazing to watch Alix grow out of her shell. But it was also really hot to watch Mack pull her from that shell. These two together are really quite combustible. Now I know I told you the story is short... but Ms. Holt does not leave you hanging! In fact, she give you a wonderfully, delicious little story!

Can one weekend of lust, passion, desire... and some serious trusting with toys lead to more than just that weekend...? Alix is everything sugar and spice and everything nice... but will Mack want to take her on full time? Mack is everything hot and spicy... but will Alix be able to break down the wall that he has built to allow more than just her hot sexy body in his bed... How about her heart? This is such a sweet, sexy tale of two people finally finding each other and seeing where it will lead... Let me just say.. They are Bound and Determined to see where it can go.... Have a delicious time reading it!

Ms. Ava is a new to me author, but she won't be for much longer. Her writing style - for how short the book is - is truly inspirational. She gives the story heat, conviction and a lot of love. This story touches real situations in the real world. Love, commitment, devotion, and all things that make a marriage strong.... But what is a story without pain, sorrow for lost time, hurt and unforgivable acts.

It is during the tough times that you find out what your marriage is really made of... And Michael and Grace's marriage is no different. Grace would give Michael anything and everything she could; has done just that. She would give up her desires and ambitions if it helped Michael in his career and again, she has done just that. Not that she minded giving up anything for the man she loves, but still... When you give up so much, you begin to wonder what's left of yourself. And being left alone can really bring down a person, even in the healthiest relationship.

Ms. Ava did a great job at showing two people who are devoted to each other, fall apart and come back together. Without spoiling to much, the passion is hot, the desire is thick, and the emotions are real. This might have been a short story but it gave you enough story to satisfy your inner romance, your inner hussy and your inner..... Well, I guess I have to leave some things a surprise... But what I will tell, you is that it is truly amazing how one person can cause One Spark!

So with that said.... here is my review....

First, let me say this is a m/m book. If this is not your cup of tea, you will not hurt my feelings by just saying hi. Now with the said and those who will stay around for the short review... This may be a short story but it is one hot hell'va short story. Ms. Stacy definitely delivers a story worth reading.... But she also leaves you wanting to know more of what would happen to Wyatt and Rye. And what about the bounty on Katrina's head?

This is a story that many of us have experiences.... One look, one stare of pure lust and a night to see where it all can go!

This is a story under 30 pages, I'm going to keep my review short as to not give away any of the story. But I will say that this book brought a delightful look into the world of just loving to have sex. I mean we are all adults... And it is okay to say that the thought of having sex with male or female just might cream your twinkie... In fact, isn't that the spice of life. But allow a U.S. Marshall and a hot bartender will show you just how they float each others boat in a super hot Takedown!

NOR Review: Girls Who Bite Editor Delilah Devlin

For bad girls looking for love . . . fangs are more than an accessory.

These are no Twilight tales — the stories in Girls Who Bite are varied, unexpected, and soul-scorching. Best-selling romance writer Delilah Devlin and her contributors investigate vampire myths from around the world, and add fresh girl-on-girl blood to the pantheon of the paranormal.

Take a walk on the wild side with some of the hottest erotic romance authors out there. In "La Caida," a Mexican "salt-eater" saves a fallen angel and redeems her own soul. In "Bloody Wicked," a powerful witch's spell to lure a lover turns her into a vampire's love slave. Through a "Pet Door," a shapeshifting vampire meets the dominatrix of her dreams. South African "Impundulu" sweeps you back to a vampire's primeval beginnings. With a list of contributors that include Adele Dubois, Christine d'Abo, Paisley Smith, Myla Jackson, Shayla Kersten, and Vivi Anna, Devlin delivers a dark and sexy read you can sink your teeth into!

So, sit astride the dome of St. Peter's Basilica, sail with modern-day pirates, watch a meteor fall to earth, and taste the powdery wings of a Monarch butterfly. Not things you'd expect in a vampire tale? Then sip O-positive from a femoral artery while tugging at the silky strands of your lover's hair. Eternally delicious.

So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review....

I will start this out with this is a collection of short stories about some female love. If this genre is not for you, you will not hurt my feelings if you go no farther. I understand... With that being said... Let's continue please...

This is a collection of some erotic vampire stories... You know the deep, dark creatures of the night with an extra bite. They have passion that is like no other. They have desire that will pull you in. They have... bite that will be sure to leave a tattle tale behind! And yes, they are all female. The stories in this collection will give you everything from someone's deepest darkest dream... to someone giving up their life for the one they love. You will see the dark, you will see the seducing, you will see the hearts on the line. There are some stories that will leave you... well, they will just kinda leave you... But there are some stories that will touch your heart and leave a mark.

The women in theses stories are there to make you want, make you need, make your passion burn higher. Some are aggressive, some are dominating, some are submissive... There is something in this collection for everyone. Some soft caresses here, some gentle nips there... But there is also some scratches along the way... with some hard bites that will make some scream... with pleasure of course!

There are very short stories. Some only a few pages long, some a few more pages longer. Actually, they are just enough to sink your teeth into! This book is not for the faint of heart... First, because it is a f/f book... Secondly, well... You have to love those creatures that bring you to edge of pain and pleasure with just one bite!

So, if you are not afraid of things that go bump and bite in the dark... And you are looking for some vampire loving... And you are looking for something to make those night time dreams just a little darker.... then this might be for you!!! Hope you enjoy!

I will start this out with this is a collection of short stories about some female love. If this genre is not for you, you will not hurt my feelings if you go no farther. I understand... With that being said... Let's continue please...

This book kinda disappointed me a bit. I am a huge f/f fan and I love most stories out there. But this completion just kinda left me a little deflated. I know it takes all kind of f/f's to make the world go round. And I guess it is more personal preference than anything. And with that being said, I do not want to take away from the book itself. But I was a little put off by some of the stories. Are they well written, yes they are. The just did not interest me in the way I thought.

All stories are separate and no way related to each other. Which is what you would expect. But some left me thinking "WTH" and some I just could not digest what was being said. I know this review is not like me and for that I apologize. Just this book was not meant for me, I think. I hope that if f/f is your main genre, you will give it a try and read it and enjoy it.

The authors in the book are great, but this series just was not for me. And I will not end on a bad note because this is the work of some dedicated authors... I think you all did a great job!

So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review...

I have to start off my saying that I have not read book one, so I am not sure if I am missing anything. Although, I never felt lost in the book. Ms. Dee did a great job in letting me know who the characters are without making me feel lost. The premise of this story is good... Old flame reuniting after years between them. Years to grow, years to miss... years to make the heart grow fonder. At least that is what Dane was hoping for.

But does a scorned woman forgive and forget.... or forgive and hold the torch? When Jennifer was eighteen years old, she gladly gave the "Great Dane" her heart and her virtue. A decision she never regretted. The only thing she regretted was his leaving and offering no explanation.

Dane wanted Jennifer in a bad way... but he knew he could not provide her the life she needed or deserved for that matter. So, he left as soon as he took her heart in his hand and set out to get the life he wanted to give to Jennifer. But what a man thinks a woman wants... is not always what she really needs.

This is a story of finding your way back into an old lovers arms. Jennifer and Dane getting a second chance at life and love with each other... ten years later.

I had a few issues that I normally let go if it happens only a few times, but I could not let this one go... The story shifted - a lot. Conversations were left under said or not explained. And maybe that is where reading book one might have come in handy - I am not sure. That is why I will not be harsh on this story. It was a wonderful read about Jennifer and Dane coming back together... and finding their love.

And remember... Keep it Dirty, Smutty & Hussy!

So with that said.... here is my review.

This was one hot story!!! Have you ever saw a guy (or girl) that just turned you on beyond belief. Like that you actually walked away from that person thinking naughty thoughts. Wanting that person, desiring that person and having no idea where that lust was coming from. Well, that is what happens with Courtney and Ryan.

Courtney has been divorced for a year now. Having gone through the ringer with her ex, she is trying to get her life back on track. I really felt for Courtney because her life mirrors so many friends that I know. And I was very proud of her for "going for it!" I even love the little part that she went out and bought new work-out clothes for him. That gave me the giggles. Oh just think about how many times you went out and bought something special for the hot person you knew you were going to see again. Anyway... Courtney is a sheer delight!

Ryan, well... he is what most women dream of... A real life firefighter! Ohhh yeah, all hot, sexy, hard, and very delicious! He has his own battles he is dealing with. Being a firefighter does not come without some loses. Losing some of friends in a fire a while back still kinda haunts him; but with Ryan's help... he just be able to move forward.

It was wickedly hot to see this couple come *ha* together and become a very hot couple! The story was short, yes it is... but oh man.. What an awesome quickie! Ms. Lane really rocked me with this short story. I have never been this hot over such a short story. Did I want more, YES ~ but at the same time, the story was enough. Ms. Lane gave me all the details that I needed to wrap up this story in a blazing fire!

NOR: Review: Midnight Star by Billi Jean

Midnight Star
by Billi Jean

Ranger is a werewolf, a Lykae with a problem. He's found his one true mate, the only female who can complete him. Only trouble is, he's denied his instinct to claim her. Now his mate hates him as much as she believes he hates her. He will have to risk both their lives to finally prove to his stubborn vampire he loves her?

Star is a half-breed vampire with a past of not being accepted because of her mixed blood. Ranger is just one more example of how much she doesn't fit into the immortal world no matter how much she tries to fool herself into believing otherwise. She's a strong female, a fighter, but when it comes to the opinions of others, she has no defenses. Why fight what she knows is true? She is a half breed, less than those around her. She has a home, friends and females she loves like family. Only trouble is, her family is now related to the mangy wolf man who hates her.

I obtained the above information Nobel Romance Publishing site.

*I did receive this book from Night Owl Romance for the purpose of my honest review.*
*So, all thoughts and comments regarding this book are solely mine!*

I will start my review off with this statement ~ This book is freaking flipping fantastic!!! Ms. Jean is a very new to me author. And finding her is like finding a rare gem in the rough. I will be following this woman from now on. She created a world that I wanted to be a part of, begged to be to a part of, and finally pleaded to be a part of. It is just that awesome.

I feel like I have to tell you that she gave me everything I have been missing in my stories lately. She gave me a heroine that was all kick-butt and wickedly sexy as hell. She handed me over a pure alpha man, all hot and bothered and all about winning his female. She had me giggling out loud and then tearing up at some parts. Oh well, hell's bell... Ms. Jean wrote one hell'va story that completely rocked my world.

Star has had one crappy kinda life. A life that most people, mortal or immortal, would not survive. But she is not most people. She is the underdog - no pun intended. (When you read her story, you will get it.) If you know anything about an underdog ~ it is never count them out!
Why, because they know how to survive, they know how to kick some serious butt and how to love with all there heart.

It is either all or nothing for Star. She is a half breed vampire who was not wanted by her own kind. They abused her and tortured her. Until she left ~ or should I say escape. But with the love and care of one woman, she felt whole. Or as whole as she could feel. That one woman though just happen to be part of a wolf clan. Even though she was not part of Star by blood, that was the closet thing to family Star had. Star was always told that she was worthless, a no good piece of crap basically. But when you get to know Star, you will see no such thing. I fell in love with Star. I saw a strong, determined, sassy, beautiful woman. A woman who survived things that was just unfathomable. A woman who loved her "family" with all her heart and soul and would go to hell and back for them. I was cheering for her, tearing up with her and high-fiving her on her journey of life and love.

Ranger. That name just sends chills (good kind) up and down my body. And when you read all about him... believe me, you will shiver with delight as well. He is definitely a Sex on a Stick man. He is all alpha, all male, hot and hard in the right places, soft and tender in those other special places. And that accent would make any woman drop to her knees and beg to be taken! Ranger has his immediate family wiped out by a House of Vampires a long time ago. The House that Star ran from. Wanna talk about things going to crap real fast when Ranger picks up that Star is his mate... His woman... And she is a vampire. Then one of his kind goes missing... and here is the screwed up part. He has to ask her, come very short of begging her, to lead him and a team back into the House of (horror) Vampires that she left so far behind... Oh wait... did I forget to tell you that when they first met, he tried to literally snap off her head!

Omg... this story is awesome. I mean what I gave you up there was a tease. I mean, Ms. Jean gave me some kick butt action that really kept me reading till the wee hours of the morning. The action was so great, I felt like I was standing on the side of Star kicking some butt too! Ms. Jean also showed me Star's soft side as well. And it is not a side that most people see. Like I said, I wanted to reassure Star that she was every bite worth her weight in gold if not more. She is just a dynamite woman. My heart bleed for her, to know that she had never truly loved. And Ranger... well, you will just have to read to find out about him. Let me just say that this Hussy was absolutely purring... Okay okay, I will admit, I was freaking begging to be a part of this man's life! Just for a day!

Oh and did I mean the off the chart sexual tension and the explosive hot scenes!!! O-M-G! Yea!!!! Ms. Jean even had me giggling at one scene. I will give you a hint: Ranger wanted her, right in the middle of the mission, he wanted her. So, he picked up to take her... kinda slammed her against a wall... and the wall collapsed and they tumbled... and tumbled... and tumbled... down shafts and into an underground waterfall, lol. But will these two see eye to eye to ever fall in love with each... Or will the Star's just not align for them to be together??

You know you want to find out... So come on.... Let's go see what is going to happen for Midnight Star! Ms. Jean ~ my hat off to you ~ Awesome job!

This is Ms. Jean's blog, drop by to see that we have things in common....
**cough her side bars, lol**

I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review...

This is my first Roxanne Rhoads story and will not be my last. She has a unique voice to her stories. Paranormal brought to life, I felt the lust, I felt the chills, I felt the desire and of course I felt the spookiness. This story is set in my favorite time EVERA - Halloween! And I do have to say that Ms. Roxanne definitely has a flare for the very hot side all the while keeping my interest piqued.

This story definitely has all the elements of a hot erotic, spooky Halloween, and a love tale that will have the hopeless romantic fall in love all over again!

Chrissy and Martin, Adena's best friend, are throwing their annual Halloween party. But this year they are having it at their new home, an old Victorian house they are are remodeling. It even comes with its own graveyard! Adena is going of course... stag. She is hoping to find someone there that would help her scratch an "itch".... But she is looking for a one on one thing.... Her friends are in the swinging world. So to say that the party will have an erotic twist too it would be mildly put. Adena was expecting to see things of the adult nature at the party, just not of the otherworldly nature....

What if you met the man of your dreams, the man that has always been a ghost of your dreams? What would do you for true love? Ms. Rhoads takes us on a quick journey that you will not forget... You will find yourself wanting to go the best Halloween party ever... So, who is with me to go to Chrissy & Martin's house???

By the way Happy Halloween!!

So with that said.... here goes...

Now this one will be a little different.. Why because these stories are very short stories... and there are a lot of them in here... And I want my review to be a little different than the book I just did a few days ago. Now I will not have blurbs for any of them one.. Soooo just bear with me okay!!! Now take my hand for some f/f loving... Okay if you are uncomfortable.. you don't necessarily have to take my hand!

These authors came to together to give you some tender lover, some hot love and some... well... you will just have to read to find out. These stories are super short and will churn your blood and make you look for the nearest fan!

These stories will leave you wanting more... wanting less (clothing on)... They will have you wanting love to come from some of these stories, real true love. Not just lust. Some will make you hate someone and love someone else. These stories may leave you breathless and begging for sweet mercy. Others may simply have you smiling at the end, knowing what was coming.

You may even find yourself asking your own questions ~ about your own girl crushes you have. Might make you look a little different at the woman who gives you your coffee in the morning, or the woman who runs her own company and unwinds with a beer at the bar. Because really... all in all.. love is love, right?

And remember... Keep it Dirty, Smutty & Hussy!

Review: Girl Crush by R. Gay (Night Owl Review)

Girl Crush
Women's Erotic Fantasies

What if?

"There is something irresistible about a crush, about wanting someone you can't have, seeing someone you can't touch; about unrequited desire and how it quickly grows..." —from the Introduction

Even girls who prefer guys remember their first girl crush—that physical and emotional fascination with another woman. Who hasn't wondered, What if I acted on my desire, what if I flirted, what if I teased? What if I provoked?

In the steamy stories of Girl Crush, women satisfy their curiosity about the erotic possibilities of their infatuations. Delilah Devlin's "The Out-of-Towner" is a tale of attraction between total opposites. In Rachel Kramer Bussel's "Great Lengths," an unrequited crush on a fiery, flaming hot redhead finally evolves into something more. G.G. Royale's "An Introduction" follows a nice Indian girl on the eve of her arranged marriage as she wanders into a bondage bar. For some, a crush is a passing whim, for others it's just the beginning. In Girl Crush what happens next may take you by surprise.

With contributions by Rachel Kramer Bussel, Teresa Lamai, Shanna Germain, Gabrielle Foster, Angela Caperton, David Erlewine, Vanessa Vaughn, Heidi Champa, Kris Adams, Melissa Gira Grant, Julia Peters, Lori Selke, Delilah Devlin, Kirsty Logan, Geneva King, Carrie Cannon, Annabeth Leong, G.G. Royale, Evan Mora, Cheyenne Blue, Jennifer Geneva, Gina de Vries, and R. Gay

I obtained the above information at Cleis Press.

*I did receive this book from Night Owl Romance for the purpose of my honest review.*
*So, all thoughts and comments regarding this book are solely mine!*

I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here goes...

Now this one will be a little different.. Why because these stories are very short stories... and there are a lot of them in here... So I will give you a thought or two (or three...) of my own! Now I will not have blurbs for any of them one.. Soooo just bear with me okay!!! Now take my hand for some f/f loving... Okay if you are uncomfortable.. you don't necessarily have to take my hand!

Some (or most) are written in first person, so I never get the main characters name.

Great Lengths by Rachel Kramer Bussel:
This is probably the story that would start it all off... They are bff's in school. This story is the girl crush everyone has but no one will admit. But at what great lengths would you go to have your first girl crush? What happens when you obtain it and it is not the same?

Mirado by Teresa Lamai:
This is a story of love gone wrong.... Couple dating, boyfriend decides he wants someone else... in the apartment they share.... Yeah, wrong. The girl leaves him and the "new" girlfriend to the apartments and walks out. But walking out and stalking are two different things. What does that bring you, watching what they do, in the places you use to do it...? Is it truly closure for you to watch them lives the life you once had? But this story has a serious twist in... You will have to read to find out!

Craving Madeline by Shanna Germain:
This is a story about two struggling women. Caroline and Madeline have disorders of some kind (to find out you have to read). They go to a counseling group together. But Caroline knows she would gladly trade the disorder she has for the addiction she wants.

Call Me Cleopatra by Gabrielle Foster:
Remember when you were a child and you would dream of being a ballerina, an astronaut, whatever your heart's content? Well, this story sort of like that... As Cleopatra (you will see that she has many names) puts it, "You are a dream I would like to dream," she said. "It's better to dream than have a lover. When you wake up from a dream you can tell yourself it wasn't real at all." This is great story of a woman falling in love with her dream.

Skinny-Dipping by Angela Caperton:
Maxine and Gina are college roommates. This is such a sweet story. Regina ~ Gina ~ wants what Les, Maxine's boyfriend has... Maxine. Gina is the shy one, the quiet one. Don't they say it is the quiet one's you have to watch out for? Will these two discover what is hidden in the treasure of their friendship?

The Things I Can Do For Her by David Erlewine:
Oh wow, this is a very hard story. From start to finish... This story is set in an office environment. Kinda like boss - employee. But Lauren Reynolds kinda made me mad. You will see what I mean when you read. But the question I begged myself with was: how much would let someone control you?

I Told A Stranger All About You Yesterday by Vanessa Vaughn:
I love this story because it is told with a need, a yearning. To come out and let the world know what you truly want. She hired someone to listen to her, to listen to her talk about you... someone else. But was it truly the other person she wanted or just the idea of being with someone?

Cut and Dry by Heidi Champa:
This is a cute story. You know how you tell your hairdresser everything.... Well... would you ever tell her that you wanted her?

Cecily by Kris Adams:
Okay, I love this story and not only because it half way spells my name, but it is a great story and one that I would love to see more of. What I will give you... Humm, let me see. Two best friends - both married - about to be torn apart by one husbands job... What happens when you honestly love your best friend and don't want her to go? Give her the best going away present?

The Leopard-Print Menace by Melissa Gira Grant:
This one, I could not follow to well. Might be because my brain is just on a high from so much f/f smut.

The Bachelorette by Julia Peters:
This is one bachelorette party you will not forget, I promise you. This is just one of many quotes that made me giggle and blush at the same time, "I tell my brain to stop thinking of this searingly hot girl like she's a math problem. My brain shuts the f*** up."

The Girl in the Gorilla Suit by Lori Selke:
Our main character has a run in with a girl... in a gorilla suit. It is not every day you have a girl, a hot one at that, drop from the stage and into your lap. And that is where things get crazy for our main girl. She has no clue who her mysterious girl is and it is driving her dreams to the brink.

The Out-of-Towner by Delilah Devlin:
Co-workers who really don't know each other well. But sly glances here and there. Things accidentally being dropped from the desk for the peek-a-boo look at what's under the skirt today. So being thrown in a meet and greet presentation, do they show more the graphs and charts to each other?

Rebel Girl by Kirsty Logan:
Katia and Evie are two friends who want something else besides the guys they are sharing the backseats with. What happens on night when the boys send the girls to get cigarettes? Do they come back with more than just cigs or do they even remember the cigarettes?

The Best Kind of Revenge by Geneva King:
This one is really - on one hand the best kind of revenge, but on the other hand really not kinda of nice. What would you do if you caught a peeping "Tam" in your apartment? Going through your personal things - very personal things? What would do to her if you had your chance to extract revenge on her? When is the revenge part gone to far?

One Eighty by Carrie Cannon:
The prefect wife, the prefect housewife, the prefect neighbor.... What happens when you despise someone so much... but all the while they are just trying to get on your good side? And what happens when two lonely housewives literally - come together?

Running Away and Running Home Again by Annabeth Leong:
Oh this story tugged at my heartstrings a bit. I really can't tell you more than that because it will give it away.

An Introduction by G.G. Royale:
This story will flip your lid. Arranged wedding, constricting parents who control your life beyond the continent, and one strong woman... oh wait, make that two! This is a great bdsm short story.

Seduction by Proxy by Evan Mora:
Hummm best friends... Heather and Jeanie... Can best friends become lovers? What happens when Heather makes the claim that she only goes to guys? Can Jeanie make her realize that she could have what a guy has to make Heather want her too? It could happen, especially when you have such a wonderful imagination as Jeanie. She comes up with a plan that will literally drive Heather into her bed!

Discovering Donnie by Cheyenne Blue:
This story you will have to read and think about it. This story left me scratching my head, then going to back to re read a few sections. It is a different take.

Good Neighbors by Jennifer Gevena:
This is a hot little story about Lisa, Rob and Jess. Rob and Jess are married - happily I assume. And on one hot... sulty evening/night.... Let's just say being a good neighbor is an understatement! And by the end of the story... Jason, Lisa's ex-boyfriend whom she is a sucker *pun intended* for, may be joining the neighborhood gang.

Girl Crazy by Gina De Vries:
This story is a one time shot. She has one time, one play date and it stayed with her forever.

Psychology 101 by R. Gay:
A professor's assistance and the professor. All I can say is I want that job...

And remember... Keep it Dirty, Smutty & Hussy!

Review: Kane by Eliza Gayle A Black Night Owl Review

Eliza Gayle
Kane: A Black Cougar Novel

(Book 2)

Kane Gunn is beyond frustrated. He has a kill order to fulfill and after weeks of chasing his quarry he’s boiling over with tension. Then he catches the woman who’s become his obsession and Kane becomes consumed by a desire that overwhelms everything…including his quest for justice.

Lara is determined to seek revenge against the were-cougar guardians. Consequences don’t matter and distraction isn’t an option. Until she finds herself face to face with the pair of green eyes that have been haunting her day and night. Time is of the essence as the tables are turned and a tenuous truce is formed.

In the face of passion enemies become lovers, tempting fate, testing trust, and satisfying an undeniable need. Lies and secrets. Corruption and Revenge. Choices that change lives. Don’t miss the revelation…of Kane.

So with that said.... here is my review...

This is book two of the cougar series. You do not have to read book one, but it would help it flow a little better for you.

We meet Lara, a very upset witch (to say the least). She is set on revenge against the black cougars. She believed they killed someone very close to her for no reason. Her only means of closure is to kill those involved in the case - the black cougar family.

Lara knew that Kane was sent to kill her. Kane being one of the black cougar family members. He was sent on a mission, to kill Lara. Of course, unless she killed him first. Killing is all Lara has been able to think since that moment in time. It has consumed her - heart and soul. Or at least she thought so. Until she stepped into Kane's arms. Confusing thoughts cost her more than just her evil plan....

Kane was sent on a mission to kill Lara. The same woman who had tried to kill members of his family. He was not given the matters of the case, he just knew that this was his orders to fulfill. Kane, being the fair man he is... needed answers as to why. Was it really the answers he was seeking or the woman who ran his blood hot?

This book is a very hot read. The characters and plot are thought out very well. Ms. Gayle has created a world that wants to stay hidden and they will do what they have to - to protect themselves and their world. However, I felt something missing. The missing element is a feeling of true love. Without giving away to much, I know the mating process of shifters and such, but the story just seem to lack a real love. Don't get me wrong, the sex was hot... and the action was there... but it's like the author is holding back on her true writing skills. But all in all, this is a great read and I recommend it to anyone who loves the paranormal world!

ISBN: 978-1607375104
Genre: BBW Erotic Contemporary
Format: eBook
Length: Novel
Read An Excerpt
Available as an ebook from Loose-id

Graham Hall is twenty-six and has a dream job as a travel writer. He’s come to Colorado for work and a little personal down time. With his article done and the six-month lease up on the small cabin in the valley, he’s stayed around until his next assignment. In a downtown Denver bar, Graham meets Edward and after a short conversation agrees to a blind date with Edward’s business partner, Jane. After all, what could it hurt?

Jane is completely oblivious to the machinations of Edward and Graham and shows up at Graham’s cabin to deliver a box of handmade chocolate truffles. From the minute Graham opens the door, Jane falls head over heels in lust. A plus size, mid-thirties woman, Jane isn’t sure what Cowboy Surfer, as she’s dubbed him, sees in her or why he’s so tenacious in his pursuit and tries throwing him off at every turn.

The inability to say continue saying ‘No’ leads to hot, scorching sex and a lot of follow-up phone calls opening Jane’s eyes to the realization that maybe life doesn’t have to revolve around chocolate truffles, but rather around a delicious, well traveled younger man.

Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Dubious consent, voyeurism of male/male sexual interaction.

I obtained the above information from Lissa's website (which just had a make over.. so head over ~ after you read the review silly)

*~*I did receive this book from Night Owl Romance for the purpose of my honest review*~*
*~*So, all thoughts and comments regarding this book are solely mine!*~*

I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review...

Oh man where do I start with this one. Jane and Graham....

Jane is co-owner of a delicious dessert company. Edward, her best friend, and her run the business from a loft they share. Their business is great! She can work from thier home in her sweats, baggy shirts, no bra and her fluffy slippers anytime she wanted. Not having to go out in public had its perks. Edward is the meeter and greeter for the company. Things are going great for Jane and Edward in the business world. In her personal world... things are not all that great. Being dumped by a guy who just wanted you for the person he thought he could change you into was sinking Jane to an all time low. Allowing on person to have that much control over you is a deadly thing to do. Will that be the death of her... or her chocolate truffles... or the blind date Edward set her up, oh did I mention Jane did not know about it???

I read this book in a matter of hours. I could not put it down (well... turn off my computer). It is an emotional ride of one woman, Jane, her best friend, Edward ~ who I heart! and Graham... a man after my own heart. Put these three together and watch the batter start to rise.
Edward wants his best friend back... Graham did not know what he was looking for... Jane needed to get over "the jerk." Now let's stir in Edwards love for Jane with Graham's passion to see her happy... and watch Jane grow and learn about herself with these two men.

Ms. Lissa penned another very well told story. I can see Jane as one of my friends. Being dumped by a jerk and trying to pull her out of whatever he spell he weaved around her. Edward did what any other best friend would have done... set her up on a blind date. Jane's heart is not sure how much more it can take before it breaks for good. So swearing off men seems like a good idea, until she literally gets put in Graham's hands. This is an awesome story. Jane does not hold her tongue, but she does cling to the insecurities her ex left behind. How does one person overcome those insecurities, how do you know it is time to do so? When it is time to face the music and move on with your life?

Graham is a my kind of man!!! Oh damn this man! He saw what he wanted ~ Jane. Graham let it be known to Jane that he wanted her ~ all of her. Every turn that man was there, letting her know he was not giving up because some jerk decided to hurt her in a way that might have ruined her for another chance at happiness. Just the thought of someone hurting her like that had Graham's blood boiling. He wanted her to see what he saw through his eyes. A gorgeous, incredible sexy, smart, witty and hot loving woman.

Where do the truffles melt - here: one conversation taken out of context leaves flour all over the place.... Jane overheard a conversation between Edward and Graham and only hears a "piece" of it and the crap hits the fan!

Now go out and get this book! Believe me, it will melt your heart and make you want some truffles (and some hot sex ~ maybe with the truffles, who knows!!)

I love Ms. Lissa's writing style in this short book. She made her characters come to life on the pages before me. Their lives unfolding, the explorations of self-worth, the process of letting go, the healing and the loving that goes with it all. From best friends to lovers, this story has it all. The ingredients for an awesome story!!! Ms. Lissa, I commend you on another fine job!

This from Graham to Jane.... "“You're beautiful. All woman. All curves and valleys. I want you.” Graham fisted a hand in her hair, holding her head firmly so she couldn't look away. “Damn, how I want you. And I don't ever want anyone, not like this, not like that either. But you… Fuck. I'll fight every shadow in your eyes..."

Now tell me you how would you feel if your man told you this..... Damn straight! =)

Review: Willing and Able by Jude Mason, Jenna Byrnes

Phaze Binary Stars: Willing and Able

Co-authored with Jude Mason

Colt Willing never expected to be a key player in a drug-running operation. Before he can get out, he's determined to release the hold the organization has on Jonathan, the man he's grown to love. Jonathan has ties that bind him to drug-lord Nigel Caprice, and breaking the bonds may prove too difficult for Willing to tackle alone.

Detective D.J. Able is determined to bring Caprice to his knees. Backed by his partner, Bryan Stokes, Able and his team are out for justice, and retribution for the loss of one of their own. When push comes to shove, Able discovers that even the best laid plans sometimes go astray, and the men end up in a fight for their very lives. (m/m)

I obtained this information from Ms. Jenna Byrnes webiste!

*~*I receives this book from Night Owl Romance for the purpose of my honest review.*~*

This story is roughly about 55 pages long... You get two stories in one. So, you are figuring out that each story is about (give or take) about 25 pages a piece. So, I can not give the review I normally I do because I do not want to give away to much of the books.

I do have to say that is was my first book by Jude Mason. For sure, this will not be my last.
These are two awesome writers that have combined their skills together.

In Ms. Jenna's story, Willing, Colt Willing is a man bent on protecting those he loves, no matter what side of the law they are on. What side of the law is Colt on? Being on the wrong side is a very dangerous side to play on... especially when the man you love is working for the top dog of the wrong side. But at what cost would you give of yourself to protect your self or family?
Ms. Jenna's story is very riveting. The drama builds with paragraph you read. Wanting to know what happens will drive you to the end.

A peek into the story..."Heart near bursting, Colt looked into his man’s eyes. The expression he read on the handsome face told him everything he needed to know. “I love you,” he uttered for the first time, and held his breath, waiting for a reaction."

In Ms. Jude's story, well it ties to Ms. Jenna story. These two author play very well together. This is the continuation of the story Ms. Jenna created and sucked us into. This is the story of Willing's ex-partner Detective D.J. Able. With a fallen officer and the clock ticking, how does one man try to make it all balance?Able is a determined man and you will see just how determined he is... Ms. Jude keeps the momentum rolling in this story. You will see how all sides of the law collide and how things get done.

Another peek into Able's story... "Able checked his watch. The man was right. They’d both been on overtime for six hours. Captain wasn’t likely to complain, not under the circumstances, but if they fucked up because they were too tired to think straight, he’d hang them both, by the balls. “Yeah, you’re right. The next shift’ll be glad to take over.”

I commend these ladies for a story well done. The stories complimented each other very well.

The above information was obtained from Jasmine Jade Enterprises - Ellora's Cave

*~*I did receive this book from Night Owl Romance for the purpose of my honest review.
So, all thoughts and comments regarding this book are solely mine!*~*

I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review...

Oh my gosh where to start. First off, Ms. Ashlynn is a very new to me author, but new does not mean that she was all sugar and spice with her writing... actually the woman is more like saucy and hot!!!! And omg the woman can write. She had my emotions so raw that I had to make sure I was not in the book with these characters. She strips you bear from soul to sole (pun intended) and puts you back together whole again. This story rocked my socks off. From tortured (no lie!!!) hero to a heroine with a backbone and a baseball bat!! Her characters are so well written, you believe that she has taken pages from someone's journal (my dream journal) and made it into a book. She deliveries her words so thick that you are left holding your breath, waiting for the next line. This story twisted my heart, made my soul cry, made me cross my legs and blush more times than I care to admit. Well, actually I would admit it... I did this for the the whole story!!

Beeca is a woman coming out of an abusive marriage; a woman who came out stronger than when she went in it. She is able to stand on her own two feet and feel proud of that. I loved her for that. She was not a wishy washy woman, she did not contemplate rather she would take the jerk back or not... she was a woman set out to live her life and move on. She might often seek the shadows (or corners) compared to her best friend Summer, who loved to live life out to the fullest and did not care who saw her or what they thought. Becca was the meek one, the quiet one. But being meek does not mean she does not have a backbone. She stood firm in what she believed in and she stood up to "the jerk" and to Jake.

Jake is a man bent on believing that he is a worthless piece of trash like his father. When you meet him, you just want to hold of him and love him with all you have. Then you want to take him and shake him to make him see what you see - a man worthy to receive and give love. Jake came from an abusive family, but what saved him was his best friend's family. Mama Maria took him in and showed him the best way she cold what love was supposed to be. This man is my supreme Sex on a Motorcycle!!!! From his dark, wavy brown hair to the tip of his toes, this man is bad (all six foot one inch). Bad as in beautiful, angry and definitely someone to take notice of. He commands any room he steps in, there are no excuses and no matter how many demons he tries to outrun... he feels he has not run enough or beat his punching bag enough to escape them.
This story is based in today's time where people meet online. Except Becca is doing a piece on online chatting for her job - working at the local newspaper. This is where the story gets good... did Becca get more than she bargained for when encountered Jake. How easy is to lose yourself online, without the face to face meetings? How comfortable do we become typing on our computers... no voice and no face to put with the words. Just black and white...? What happens when you put a voice with the words...? What happens when you put a face with the voice that goes with the black and white words?
It will take some Rough Edges to get to a smooth finish... But you will have to read to find out what happens.........
The title of the book and the cover fit this story perfectly. The story line is about two people are both rough around the edges. Their emotion state is what is really rough and raw. The scene on the cover... well let's just say that you can soooooooooo see this in the story!!!
I urge you to go pick up this story today... Do not wait... Do not hesitate... Buy it now!
