What's on your Desk Wednesday....

I have been tagged!!! Yvette from True Crime Book Review has tagged me for this fun little meme!!! Since I have never been offically tagged with anything... I thought why not!!!

Now, I have copied this from Yvette's page, because I am not quiet sure what to do... So here goes...

"What's On Your Desk Wednesday is a weekly book blog meme hosted by Sassy Brit of Alternative-Read.Com.
Here are the rules, and they are pretty straight-forward.
You can do one of two things or both.
1. Grab a camera and take a photo of your desk. Or anywhere you stack your books/TBR pile. And no tidying! Add this photo to your blog.
Tag at least 5 people.
2. List at least 5 BOOKISH things on your desk (Examples are TBR pile or books you haven't shelved...) List at least 5 NON BOOK things. (Like some of the more unusual items on your desk/table?)
Tag at least 5 people to do the same.
Once you're done, go to Sassy's blog and post your link. That way people can visit your blog and see the pictures you have posted."

This is where my TBR pile is hiding out... In my closet where my fetish (and still kinda is) was shoes... at one time, I had more shoes than books... Now the case anymore!!!
These books are stacked and shelved three books deeps in the closest... yea, kinda scary!! So the picture on the right.... that is the first row... I moved them out of the way... picture on the left...

Now, I tried to move them to show you more.... and more.... and more... Now the books to the back of the stacks are the ones that I have read already...

The next set of pictures is where I keep the books that I am currently reading... on the side of my bed. I finished with Addicted, but I am so Addicted to that book, that I hate parting with it in the closet. And I also finished Staked by JE Lewis, but have not gotten around the writing up the review yet... Lord Lindsay wanted his story out there first!! The picture frame with Friends on it, is me and my sister in law! It was my first LSU football game in forever!!! The middle picture (I know you can hardly see it) is my daughter, my godson and me at my daughter and I's dance recital a few years ago. Then the last picture (behind Addicted) is me and hubby (before he was hubby) for my birthday party, like 5 years ago!!! That was right around the time we met!! Whew... where does time go!

Now this is my only desk space in the house. We have a very small house (a little over 700 sq. ft). So, this is my space! And there was no tidying up before... Yes, I am that OCD that it stays clean. A dirty counter gets on my nerves more than anything... but also because that is where I spend a lot of time... bloggin, paying bills, balancing checkbook, you know fun stuff!! The stack on the side of the Dellette (my computer's name, lol) is a stack of magazines that I have not read yet... only because I want to read my books more than the magazines!!!

Well, that about wraps me up!!! I am sitting on that very stool right now typing this up to you guys!!! I am off now... to do more chores... cook supper and try to finish blogging to all of you!!!
OH before I go, I am suppose to tag 5 people... I am not sure how you guys feel about being tagged, so I will leave that up to you to take this and run with it!!!! I had fun sharing with you guys for I know that I rarely do... We hate being to personal on blog-o-sphere... but I wanted to share!

  1. Hi Cecile,
What an incredible fun thing to do and I might run off with it to post one myself in the next two weeks. I'm going to my parents next week with hubby so I'll miss you guys for 5 days!! But this is fun :D Thanks for letting me peek inside *wink*

  2. OMDoubleG Cecile I am very in love with your closet. That is the coolest idea ever. I have a really small closet, so I can't put books in mine. Your house is very cozy. When my tbr's are overflowing and falling out, I try not to buy anymore books until I finished the ones I have. But how can resist books? I think I have a book fetish. LOL.

    Have a great week!

  3. I love looking at pictures of others TBR piles and just books in general, where ever they may be laying around. This is a fun meme. A little personal is always nice :).
I might play next week--combine waiting on wednesday and this one!

  4. That was fun! I like to see other people's book collections. :) I'm boggled that my condo (at 642 square feet) isn't that much smaller than your house!

My laptop's name is Kenshin, from an anime character.

  5. Cecile,

I love your 'tbr' stack. LOL I thought I was the only one with books in the closet. :) I use the top of my sons closet because he has nothing up there - the whole of the shelf, from left to right and 2 books deep is spill over from my keeper shelf. LOL But since it is my childs room - they are the YA books. :)

    Have a wonderful day.

  6. Great books Cecile! And I love your counter - so neat. And that American stove with high switchers - lol - we don't have those in Europe ( I haven’t seen any, anyway). It’s great to look at the pictures and see all the similarities and differences between cultures. Like in Croatia, it's unthinkable to not have tiles on the kitchen walls and here you have a wonderful kitchen with wallpapers (I believe).
Anyway, I like this idea and I think I'll give it a try this evening.

    P.S. I'm like you - don't like messy counters :)

  9. Hi Cecile,
Oh those poor books, being hidden in the closet :( Lol, but there is sure plenty so I can understand why. I have many now and that is only new ones. All my old ones are still at my parents. I thought I would get them when I move out of student housing....more books eek.

And what a lovely place to blog at, very neat

  10. Cecile! LOL!! You're book stacks look much the same as mine! I love the color decor of your kitchen, btw. I love light colored rooms. Yeah, I'm a tad odd with stuff like that, lol.

  11. And that's YOUR not YOU'RE...sigh...it's still early.

  12. Cecile! The amount of books you own is nothing to sneeze at. ;)

What a cute idea! If I wasn't so ashamed of the shape of my TBR pile, I'd be posting some pics myself. I'd have tiddy up first too. My mother would be horrified at the state of my house and to know that I posted pics of it would get me a scolding. lol!

    Thank you for sharing!

    (((hugs))) VFG

  13. I am back from my day at work!! I was able to at least check my email from work. So, if any of you ever want to "chat," just drop me a line.

    On to my comments....

~Leontine!! Hey there girl! It was fun to do, I have to admit that! Oh, you do have to let me know if you decide to do it!! I would love to see where you hang out while bloggin! =)
Oh... parents house! 5 days!! You will be missed =( But you getting some quality time with your parents and hubby!!!

~I Heart Book Gossip! Girl... any day, any book.. I share! Well, that is the only space I have in my house to put my books... except for in the attic and I cannot bear myself to my precious books in the attic... where they would be forgotten about! So, in my closet they go... where my shoes use to.
Well, to make room in my closet, I had to kick hubby out. We shared a closet for I do not remember how long. Finally we built an additional bathroom to our home and in it, YES, I made him build a closet for himself!! LOL!!!
I do love my house for bring cozy, it makes cleaning days go quickly!!
I am trying not to buy any more books until I read all what I have... but with Borders having sales and those damn Reward Bucks I get for buying books in the first place is hard to resist!!

~Amy C! Hey there hon! Thank you!Definitely let me know if you chose to do this!! I will itching to see what your place looks like!! I hope you had a great day!

~Chris!! Hey! It was fun! I do have to agree with you, I love to see peoples book piles! And I love seeing pictures of your kitties!!! No you are right, your condo and my house are about the same... LOL!!! And we have three people, two dogs and one ferret in my house!!! LOL!! I am glad to know that your laptop had a name too!! =)

~Michelle G! Hey there! Thank you! Oh girl, it started with hiding them in my closet so hubby would not see ALL what I was buying... but now, that is the only place I have to put them!
Yea, my daughter has room in her closet, but she does not want any of my books in her room!! LOL!!
I hope you have a wonderful evening and a great tomorrow!

~host!! Hey there!!! Thank you for all your kind comments =)! My stove is a glass top stove! I do miss a gas top stove, but they do not offer the gas service down our subdivision. So, we have all we have is electric. Great stove does not mean I can cook any better though!! LOL!!! I forgot that you can click on the picture to make it bigger! I am so thrilled to learn that! So, you can really see what Books I have now!!!
That is what I thought was neat about this meme, what that it gave me a chance to show you where I sit and where my books are. Things like that. I thought it waas cool! And yes, that is wall paper up in the kitchen. It has grown on me... the house belonged to my hubby before we met... so, yes the woman in me wants to change it and make it my own, but I painted one room in the house and had enough!!! I vowed if anything was to be done again, I will hire someone to do it for me!!! It was a nightmare!
Oh, please do let me know if you do decide to do this little meme... as you said, I love to learn the similarties and differences between us!!! That is what makes the world go around!!

  14. ~Amanda! Hey there! Oh thank you!!! Yvette tagged me and I just say "what the hell... go for it!"
At least I can really say... I am still in the closet as far as my book addiction goes... because no one can see it!LOL!!!

~Blodeuedd! Hey honey!! Well, it is either in my closet or in the attic and I can not see my books in the attic. So, they sit there day and night... waiting for me to pick them. At least when I hear them scream my name to be picked, I know that I do not have to buy them, like I do at the store, lmao!!!
Well, that is my collection so far. I had a whole collection of books before I met hubby and moved it. I gave them all to the local libraries around me.

~Barbara!! Hey chick!!! Girl... the stack is taking over!!! And the addiction is only getting worst... now that I really know what lies ahead in the upcoming section of my OWN damn blog!!! LOL!!! And to know that some are a part of a series... that I have to get before I read the first one... OMG!!!! I will drive myself insane! LOL!!! Oh thank you! I am glad that I am not the only one that has to have stuff a certain way!!!

Thank you all for stopping by today, I really appreciate it!!!

  15. Oh that is too funny! You painted one room in the house and had enough!

The last time I painted my kitchen, I picked out this green that I thought would be nice. I got it all done and sat around all that day looking at it thinking what the hell was I thinking!! I hated the color. It was just awful. That same day I went back to the store and began to repaint it all over again! My husband was on third shift at the time, so he slept during the day. By the time he got up that night I was nearly finished repainting with the color that is still there now! I don't mind painting, it;s the clean up and taping off that I don't like.

  19. I recently posted a picture on my blog of my to-read stack, and I was shocked to realize just how many books I have in there (212) - I think it's official, I have a book addiction.

  21. Hi Cecile, I'm going to have to still this idea. I've never thought to use the shelf in my closet. Look out hubby I have a new place to store books!

  22. ~Amy C~
Girl, after one room I was DONE!! I had it up to my head with painting. And hubby is NOT a painter... so I told him if we ever needed anything painted... Yep, I am saving my money and hiring someone!!!
Or maybe next time, I will see if you want to come over and "help" me paint, lol!!!

    ~Blanche~
Hey! Thank you, I enjoyed it! Honey, I would so love to be away from the humidity!! It is horrible for the hair!! Might have to make a visit out there one great day!!!
And I would love to help you organize your books lol!!!

    ~Lea~
Oh thank you!!! That is why I love the books in my closet.. every morning and every night.. I get to see my lovely collection!!

    ~Yvette Kelly~
Thank you, I am very OCD with organized things. I hate when things are not where they are supposed to be... it drives me bananas! But I am learning slowly to deal with things being out of place. LOL!! Yea okay! LOL!
Thank you for the sweet comment about my home. We live around a lot of people with huge homes and I do not envy them at all... if for only one thing... I would have more space to put my books!!! LMAO!!! But I love my home, because it is that - a home... not a house out of a magazine but a home!

    ~Angie~
Yea, I know had to see all the books that are on my TBR stack by doing this... and I hate to say it, but I bought more books this past weekend!! YEP!!! I need help!

    ~Patti~
I do love your comment!!!! Thank you, but some of these ladies in here have me beat by a WHOLE lot!! LOL!!! I am just an ameture compared to them!! LOL!!! But I do love the piles I have!
And oh yes, I am a very big GEAUX TIGER's fan!!!!! For those of you not from around my area.. we pronounce GEAUX as go. A lot of our last names down here end with eaux... my maiden name is Boudreaux. Yea, telemarketers worst nightmare!! LOL!!

    ~Shannon~
Girl, steal the idea away!!! And yea, you might want to warn hubby before you do that... that way if he opens your closet and sees these massive collections with half nekkid men on them.. he won't wonder!! LOL!!!

  23. Hi there! I apologise for my lateness in discovering this, I've been ill on and off for weeks now, and struggled to keep up. Nothing bad, but always tired and lethargic LOL Anyway, enough of my woes...

Thank you so much for playing along - just take a look at today's post!

You're mentioned. What great idea, i'm impressed and sorting out my wardrobe as we speak!
