Interview with Daniel Harding

Me: So today, I’m visiting with Daniel Harding, one of the two main characters from A Chip In His Shoulder and the brand new sequel, Something New Under the Sun. Daniel, it’s good to see you again.

Daniel: I’d say the feeling is mutual, but… no.

Me: Oh. Um. Okay, then. *cough* Tell us a little bit—

Daniel: Actually, I have a bit of a bone to pick with you.

Me: I see. *glances warily at camera* All right. Go ahead.

Daniel: *sitting back, folding his arms* So first you sent my ex-boyfriend to come and kill me.

Me: Well, technically that wasn’t me, that was—

Daniel: Whatever helps you sleep at night, lady. Anyway, so first you sent my ex to kill me. And I can kind of get over that because of how it ended, but still, that wasn’t cool. So after you did that, was it really necessary to for Liam’s newest mod to—

Me: SHHHH! No spoilers, you twit.

Daniel: *raising eyebrow* Twit? Really?

Me: Yeah. Can’t swear in an interview. And that goes for you too, just so you know.

Daniel: Well [censored] that.

Me: *exasperated sigh*  You know, I did let you and Liam get a little freakier in the sequel. Doesn’t that count for something?

Daniel: Of course it does. That’s the only reason I didn’t bring Liam with me.

Me: Oh. Did he, um, was he planning to come with you?

Daniel: Yes. And he wasn’t going to play nice, believe me.

Me: *gulps* I appreciate you leaving him at home.

Daniel: *narrowing eyes* I almost didn’t. I mean, seriously. In book 2, when you had my dad come along and—

Me: What did I just say about spoilers? Hmm?

Daniel: And what did I just say about bringing Liam along? Because I can still call him.

Me: No! Please don’t. No. No. Bad idea. No Liam.

Daniel: That’s what I thought. Now as I was saying, I know we put my dad in a corner, and he wanted to break out the big guns, but that was just low having him—

Me: Okay fine. Bring Liam in. No spoilers, damn it.

Daniel: …

Me: …

Door: *opens*

Liam: I think it’s time we have a little chat. *looks at camera* Turn that thing off.  I said turn it off. Now.

Cameraman: Hey! Hey! Leave my camera alone, you—

Why don't you tell us a little about yourself.... Something that we cannot Google about you, lol!
Since you are a new to me author, I am hoping to bring you to the light of others! So share away!

I love to try new things. I tried making cakepops and did pretty good. I did scrapbooking for a while and still have a ton of supplies. I don't consider myself creative, but I love to see if I can do things that come so easily to others. I did a professional booty cake for a friend's birthday. Let's just say even I was impressed with how well that one turned out. LOL. I am a foodie and LOVE eating. Not so much the cooking but I'll bake the heck out of anything. lol. 

Tell us a little about your book?

Stranded Temptation is a Contemporary Erotic Romance. It's about this CEO and his head accountant. They have a tenuous relationship, so when their plane crashes on their way to south america, things turn upside down for them. Kara refuses to let any more time go to waste and takes matter into her own hands. The results are rather explosive.

How much emotion does it take from you to write?

for my romances, I have to have emotion. I can't write anything without feelings and I think sometimes it's harder especially when you have a main character with trust issues or insecurity. I feel for them and I want to make things better. It is why I write romance. I need to give them all a happily ever after.so my emotions definitely go into play and I have to feel emotionally connected to the actions/words before I can say it's ok. 

What is your favorite part of the book?

Probably the beginning and the end. I love starting fresh and seeing the story unravel in my mind. The end and all of it coming together makes it so awesome. I feel super accomplished when i finish. 

What was your favorite scene to write?

hehehe well...I do love the hot stuff. Sex does rock and I love writing it. But i think when they do the first kiss or when they talk emotion. I love gettin gushy and sappy. LOL. 

You can only pick 3 words for your main characters..what would they be? *to describe your main characters*

Kara: Strong, Self-assured, Fighter.

Max: Focused, Determined, Sweet. 

Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why?? I think Max was easiest because even though you saw one thing when the book started, as you went, you saw a different side to him. Kara was the same thing. i won't give away what it was about them that did it, but they each showed layers you didn't think were there.

How many books are you shooting for in this series??

This book is not part of a series, but I may go back and write books for the side characters, which I loved.

What are you currently working on?

I am currently writing wolf shifters as Milly Taiden. 

Do you have anything due to release soon?

Yes. I have Wynter's Captive (wolf shifters) set to release on 1/18 and Wicked Valentine as April Angel to release on 1/25. I'm very excited. January has started off with a bang.

What's one thing that you enjoy about writing?

Creating my own versions of happily ever afters for my characters. I love playing matchmaker.

Since we're cover hussies....what was your first impression of your cover?

LOL. I like the cover. I'm in love with the guy they used. He's very hot. The colors are amazing and they did a great job creating something that makes me thing of the colors in an island sunset!

What do you prefer ebooks or paperbacks?

Both. To carry around definitely ebooks, but I'd love to have a bunch of paperbacks with my name on them :) 

Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try? probably YA. I have a tendency of getting hot and heavy without meaning to.

Breaking The Nexus by Lindsay Avalon (great book by a great indie author)

What is your favorite season? Holiday?

I love all holidays. I'm a huge fan of Valentine's Day and always get everyone chocolates and flowers. I love christmas and the time to spend it with family and doing fun things like going to see the huge tree down at rock plaza. Holidays are fun when you do things that are enjoyable.

And what has been your best b-day present ever?? Best ever?

I think my first contract for Sharp Change (wolf shifters). I sat there and couldn't believe it said they wanted my book. It was awesome. The worst would have to be the one seven years ago. My father passed away three days before my birthday and I've never look at them the same again.

Gentleness she’d never noticed before in Max was evident in his eyes. She watched him curl his large hand over her much smaller one. Her heart beat so loudly in her ears she feared he might hear it. He brought her hand to his lips and kissed it. Fire roared in her blood, and her breath hitched. He turned her hand over and brushed a warm, firm kiss over her palm while they stared at each other.

“I’d never put you in danger.” Deepened to rough gravel, the sound of his voice made her pussy throb and blood thicken in her veins.
