Just a little warning, if the cover did not tip you off or the genre listing did not tip you off, this is a m/m book. If this is not your cup of tea, you will not offend me if you just drop by to say hi and move on... Know that one I am hoping to change your mind! :)

If you come to my Lair often, you know that I am no stranger to Ms. Lissa's work. Nor are you a stranger to how much I love her work! She is just awesome... Her stories are riveting... Her characters are intriguing... Her plots are thick with detail and laced with desire... She is great at drawing you in the story and making you feel like you are right there... Well... Okay that might be a little hard to explain but you know what I mean...

This story is no different. In fact this is a great ménage story of love, lust, desire, jealousy, fear and trust. Lissa pulls you through the ringer with this story. Jared will tear your heart, Bryson will put it back together and Walt will be the glue to hold it all together. Jared's past comes to haunt him and fearing that he will be rejected by the two people he loves the most... He makes them leave. He pushes them away before they can push him away.

Bryson and Walt are tired of waiting for Jared to come to his senses... They decide to take matters in their own hands. Pushing Jared until he breaks.. Giving till he gives in and has no choice but to examine why he made them leave in the first place. Bryson and Walt know that Jared completes them.. There is no us without him and they refuse to take no for an answer.

This story was also a hot read, Bryson and Walt will physically show Jared what he is missing with them not sharing the same bed. They know that no matter what they share each others heart. Bryson and Jared were fine - or at least they thought they were fine  - until Walt came into their life, these three men will warm your heart with their stories and heat your bed with their passion... For those of you that know me... and those that don't this is my little statement about short books.... I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review...

Wow, this sure is a quickie story. I will just start this review with powerful words... If your man wants to read what you are reading, get him this book. Believe me, he will be able to relate to this book. I know we all do not want to think that our man thinks of other women, but  when "the shoe is on the other foot" I only have two words for you - GERARD BUTLER... Okay, so as I was saying, this would be right up his alley :)

This is a new to me author and I was very entertained by Ms. Kate. She has a wonderful voice when writing. Her characters are real; well, as real as they can be on paper. But you will relate to them. No matter who is reading the book. The story line is something out of every man's fantasy. And it will leave him with a wet spot in his pants and a smile on his face!

Jared sounds like the average, next door kinda guy who really takes a trip on the wow side. For one night, a beautiful woman that has only been in his dreams, is now requesting his presence... with her... NOW. This is a great tale of a normal guy getting lucky in more than one way! Who says dreams do not come true!

Valentina Chaikovskaya is a woman who is use of getting what she wants, when she wants it. She is not the stay at home kinda girl... Hell, she is a super model! Her lifestyle consist of jet jumping, country bouncing... late night, parties to attend.. And guys begging for her attention by the boat load... But one night, she just wants something different... and you gotta love our social media these days... Her night just got a whole lot better with just one tweet! This will make you want to watch your tweets a little more closely!

These two will give you a night you will never forget! Your heart will be racing, you will be counting down seconds until they get caught... You will be indulging yourself in room service and tubs bigger than your whole bathroom... These two will give you something to make you wanna go down dirty!

1.    Tell us a little about your book?
·    Set in Miami, Magnolia is the story of twenty-two year old Magnolia Larson, a recent college graduate from a conservative Catholic Minneapolis family who finds herself alone and broke, and with no prospects to making any money. She receives an unexpected offer to change her grim circumstances when Oona O’Ryan, a sports agent, proposes that she comes to work for her as her “edge”, a sort of sports geishas for elite athletes.

2.    How much emotion does it take from you to write?
·    Emotion really does not enter into my writing. Although I do write about themes that are quite emotional- murder, betrayal, adultery, crime, etc.- I cannot allow myself to lose perspective, otherwise the story would have too much “me” and not enough plot.

3.    What is your favorite part of the book?
·    I enjoy writing the beginning the best, as that is when I lay out the story, and can      
      move the characters around as much as I please. By the middle and end of the      
      book, I really don’t have the freedom to tamper with them as much, as their    
            personalities are pretty much set.
 
4.    3 words for your main characters:
*    In the Lupe Solano series, Lupe would be: fearless, smart and sexy; in Magnolia,   
      Magnolia Larson would be: ambitious, curious and focused

5.    Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest and why?
·    Easiest: Lupe Solano because we are both in the same profession, so I know from personal experience how a case should be managed. I’ve been a private investigator for over twenty-five years (I actually became one so I could write about a female private investigator with authenticity). The most difficult was Magnolia because I did not want it to seem that I was condoning her choice to become a sports geisha. When writing the sex scenes, some of which were quite explicit, I had to walk a very fine line so that the book would not be too “over the top”. As the mother of three daughters, I was very aware I was treading on shallow waters with the subject matter.

6.    How many books are you shooting for in this series?
·    I think two. I’ve already written quite a bit for the second one, but, before I    
      continue, I want to see how this one is received.

7.    What are you currently working on?
·    I’ve started a new mystery series- have about 100 pages- set in Miami with a   
      female private investigator as the main character.

8.    Do you have anything due to release soon?
·    Yes. Magnolia (B&B Press) November 10/ 2012

9.    What’s one thing that you enjoy about writing?
·    I love creating different worlds; I love the control I have as to what I write, what words I use, where the story goes. A writer really has not much control over what happens in real life, but, in a book, he or she does. It’s a total luxury!

10.    What was your first impression of your cover?
·    I was given several covers to choose from, and I had finally narrowed it down to two. I loved the final version because it most closely depicted the theme of the book. It’s a quite different cover- a pink lacy thong on the top half of the page with a grayish jock strap on the bottom. Really stands out…..

11.    What do you prefer: ebooks or paperbacks?
·    I really prefer hardbacks, then trade paperbacks, and last, paperbacks. I love the feel, smell, touch, tradition of a book, sensations that one does not get in ebooks. I understand the convenience is ebooks, but my preference is definitely for words that I can read on paper.

12.    Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try?
*    I’d love to try to write historical fiction, especially the period when the Spanish explorers, the conquistadores, first landed in the Americas. I was a history/political major in college, and history has always fascinated me.

1.    What is on your night stand/dresser?
       *   I have a pile of books; magazines; catalogues (stuff I will never order); two sets of   
            reading glasses; photos of my daughters; photos of my four dogs; hand lotion; lip   
            balm; Bose radio; crystal lamp. 

2.    What are you listening to right now?
·    I always have the radio on in my office as I cannot work in silence. Right now I  
      have a sixties station on, and am listening to a Beatles song. If I know the words  
      to a song, I sing along very loudly. Good thing my office is removed from the rest  
      of the house, right?

3.    What are you reading right now?
·    The Emperor of Lies by Steve Sem-Sandberg

4.    What is your favorite season? Holiday?
·    Summer, definitely. Thanksgiving.

5.    And what has been your best d-day present ever?
·    My only brother got married on my birthday, so my sister-in-law, Helen, has been my best present, ever.

I was given this book for my honest thoughts... So here goes!

If you come to my Lair often, you know that I truly enjoy Ms. Melissa's stories. She is a great author. She knows how to hit all the buttons you want pushed... She knows how to set in motions the things you want to see happen... She knows just how to make it hot and how to make you sweat! She is just that good. And she did just that in this story...

This truly is a great story and one that really pleased me. I was not sure what I was expecting when I opened my iPad but I got way more than I anticipated. The story is set in a time when women knew their places and their mannerism. The men were the ones who ran the world... Well, at least that is what the women let the men think... Especially the women of the Blackburn clan... Well, I should say the woman of the Blackburn clan. She is an amazing woman... Nicodemus' mother! I love her! :) But... her son, Nicodemus is something else. He is rude, blunt, ruthless... but he is all man and when his heart falls in love... He does the one thing he swore he would never, ever do... bond. But will one woman rip his heart out before the man who is set out to destroy him kill him first... 

But the women of the Collingsworth clan think a little differently... They have been lead to believe they have all been fathered by different men and their mother was a woman who loved men more than her daughters and her only son. Cordelia was lead to believe that she was the bastard child of the Scottman. Her mother passed away while giving birth to Cordelia. She was left with her father and her brother because her only sister she was close to left her to get married. But Cordelia, I love her because she is such a strong, independent woman that does not take anyone's shit. She knows it is not proper, she knows it is not right... But she doesn't care. She has been labeled her whole life... Would a little longer matter? But when she meets the one man who changers her ideas of a little longer, things get a little dicey... But boy does she shine!

The story is built up very well for more stories to come ((Hint Hint))... I love the background information we found about the Blackburn clan and the Alliance. Nicodemus is a man who is set out on one mission, find out who is killing vampires before the humans start a witch hunt for them. They may be vampires, but they are not monsters. And this group of men, Nicodemus, his family and friends will change your mind... In fact we meet people, vampires, that I am truly intrigued to find out more about :) Cordelia is an amazing woman... She will rock the boat, she will push some buttons but more than that... She will stand up for herself! Which I admire the most. Put these two together and watch the fireworks go off!!!

This is a delightful tale of two people... two families colliding together to make an awesome story... You will be enthralled, enticed, lured, into the magically word of high society, the hidden society... You will see raw passion, hungry lust and powerful chemistry come together to make some freaking steamy scenes!


The only issue I did have with the story was the part where I thought the villain was going to get his ass handed to him... It was done kinda quickly... I wanted his ass kicking to be a little more drawn out... A little more torture done to him... I mean after all, he caused so many deaths that he deserved to have the shit beat out of him and more...

But other than that... this is an awesome story!! You will want to read this because I have a feeling you will want to have this one from the start!!!!!! ENJOY!!
