**Tour Wide Giveaway & Author Interview** w/Lila Munro *Goddess*

Ladies and Gents of the Lair.. I am please to have at the Lair, again... A wonderfully talented author... Please put together a warm welcome for...

Ms. Lila Murno

We all know you are not a new to me author... But I hoping there is someone out there that has not seen your work... Because that means that we can share with them your awesome skills! So, let's see if we can share something about you that would intrigue them...

Why don't you tell us a little about yourself.... Something that we cannot Google about you, lol!
Let’s see…I think I can come up with a few things. I was born and raised in central southern Missouri and graduated from a small rural school which housed K-12 in the same building. There were 52 in my graduating class and we were only the tenth class to graduate from there as there was no high school until 1977. Prior to that, high school students were bussed to one of two neighboring schools. I was a Girl Scout and it was discovered I read at an 11th grade level in the 5th grade, so you see books have always had a huge impact on me. I played clarinet for eight years, but didn’t pursue it through college as other pursuits took front and center. I was a journalism student to start with then changed majors at least half a dozen times before finally graduating with a baby in two and three degrees to include a B.S. in both psychology and sociology and an A.A. in English. I’ve never worked in any of my degree fields. Instead I married a Marine and have followed him all over the world and worked a mish-mash of odd jobs. They include, housekeeper, bank teller, convenience store clerk, seamstress, vendor, and writer of front page news for a small town paper. I have two grown children, my nest is empty, I corral two four-legged babies now, and I love caramel frappes, Crown Royal, bubble baths, and red velvet cake. J How did I do? Did anyone find any of that on Google?

Tell us a little about your book?
Assumed Calling is book five and the final installment in the Identity series and tells Allen Bourke’s story. Allen is an older character, fifty-six to be exact, and people seem quite fascinated at this fact. Apparently I didn’t read the rules of romance as prescribed by the institution and have broken one. J The joys of being a Rebel Ink Press writer! Our editors encourage originality and creativity and like to see us step outside the lines a bit.

How much emotion does it take from you to write?
It takes an extreme amount of emotional energy for me to write most days. In fact, Assumed Master and Assumed Calling were emotionally exhausting for me. I have a hypersensitive personality and feel things very deeply. Once I’m emotionally invested in a character it’s as though they are intertwined with me. I’ve cried, laughed, and wanted to throw things at times right alongside them.

What is your favorite part of the book?
Watching the transformation erupt between Allen and Nicki and how their relationship morphs from simply a service relationship to one of complete devotion. The pivotal point in the book is when Allen decides he’s had enough of just servicing Nicki and takes her, owning her in every way. It’s emotional, raw, and beautiful.

You can only pick 3 words for your main characters…what would they be?
Realistic, smart, passionate.

Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why??
I wouldn’t really say any of my characters are hard to write as they come so easily to me generally, however, Nicki was difficult in the fact she had a lot of emotional baggage concerning her family. She took a lot of energy and she and I spent a lot of time crying together.

How many books are you shooting for in this series??
This is in fact book five and the last book in the Identity series. However, a few characters from True Identity, book two, spurred a spin-off series and the readers will get a sense of where that’s going exactly by the end of Assumed Calling. Kyle Montgomery has long tugged at my psyche and he’ll finally see his story come to fruition next summer.

What are you currently working on?
Currently I’m finishing up the third and final installment of my Slower Lower series, A Slower Lower Leap. I have a softer muse who writes characters not in the lifestyle. A lot of people don’t associate the two sides of my writing and in fact don’t know the other exists. It seems I have two sets of fans with only a few crossing over and reading everything I write. And that’s okay. J I like feeding two creative beasts, although I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like the naughty beast a bit more. I’m also working on book two of the Private Collection due out this spring and working on the first Steele Image book, Love Vindicated.

Do you have anything due to release soon?
A Slower Lower Leap will come out February 17 and Private Impropriety will release in April pending I stay on schedule.

What genres do you like to read?
I read a wide variety from contemporary to historical to military to BDSM to suspense. But I also read a wide variety of non-romance genres, women’s fiction, inspirational, mainstream fiction…you name it I’ve read it.

What do you hope readers take away after reading one of your books?
That happily ever afters aren’t just for romance books. They are entirely possible for anyone and in real life.

If you could collaborate with another author who would you like to write with?
I’ve already had the pleasure of collaborating with some very fine authors to include Christopher Craven, JA Lawson, JL Oiler, and Beth Ann Buehler. I’ll be working with some of them again in the next year or so.

What time of day do you prefer to write?
Afternoons. By that time all my administrative type duties are over for the day, I’ve typically been out for my walk, and I can just shut the world out for a while.

Do you have any little rituals you do before or during your writing process?
No, but if I get stuck I find bubble baths help. Another phenomenon as of late is my Doms interrupting my showers to tell me what’s going on with them. I finally told Kyle the other day if he was going to continue on this pattern I would very much like my back washed. :)

Okay.... personal time!!!! Oh yeah, I go there... Hahah...

What is on your night stand/dresser?
What’s not there is a better question.  :) Okay, let’s see…night stand goodies include…Kindle, two paperback novels, alarm clock, a tube of Aveeno lotion, a charging station for my phone/Kindle/iPad, a notepad and pen, some lip balm, and a bottle of Advil. Too bad you didn’t ask what’s in the night stand… :) Okay, dresser items…jewelry, candle sconces (brown blown glass—my bedroom is done in chocolate and red), perfume, and three small trinket boxes my husband has collected for me from various corners of the world.

***Cecile makes mental note to ask THAT question next time, lol***

What are you listening to you right now?
WRNS. It’s a country station here on the coast and country is what my current characters listen to.

What are you reading right now?
By Royal Command by Laura Navarre. I love historical romance!

What is your favorite season? Holiday?
I’m particularly fond of fall but love Easter.

And what has been your best b-day present ever??
My husband actually being home for it. :) You see, he was born the same day and it’s also our anniversary so it’s a special day, but to date he’s been deployed for over half of our married years.

Do you prefer your man in Boxers or Briefs? Boxer briefs
Top or Bottom? bottom
Pj’s or nude? It depends of if we have company in residence ;)
Hairy chests or smooth? Hairy but not bushy J
Twitter and/or Facebook? Oh, neither. I find them both necessary evils, but I will say Twitter is definitely less dramatic.
Pinterest or not? Nope :)

BLURB:

Like the beat of a primal drum whispering the rhythm of an ancient dance, the lifestyle calls…

At the seasoned age of fifty-six, Allen Bourke has resigned himself to the fact he’ll probably never find someone to top he can also love. While he’s had wives and lovers, none of them endured and he’s come to the conclusion the clock’s ticking and age is working against him. Then a very intriguing Nicki Cartwright pings on his radar at what Allen determines will be his last house party. He can’t help but notice while he and his friends are getting older, the players emerging on the scene are forever getting younger. Nicki's no exception. Determined to resist the vibes humming between them, he only agrees to service her after his old friend, Kyle Montgomery, convinces him it's entirely feasible. Then it’s brought to Allen’s attention who Nicki really is. Knowing their pasts are forever intertwined, as hard as he tries to ignore his heart, he finds himself yielding to the tides of fate.

Born to senatorial royalty, Nicki Cartwright has spent her entire life trying to shield her mother from her father’s wrath while drifting further and further into a world where panic is normal and anxiety is always on the edge of her reality. Tired of burning the candle at both ends and forever trying to live up to the picture of All-American perfection her father James Cartwright touts as his ace in the hole during election cycles, Nicki finds herself on the path of self-discovery in search of relief from the stressors continually swamping her mind. What she doesn’t expect is to find who she thought she was is truly just a shadow of the person she really is. And what scares her most is the fact Allen, the only person she thought she could trust, has been holding a secret since before she was born which could destroy her entire family.

Excerpt:

“You jackass,” Nicki hissed, rising from her position and turning, shrugging the two men at her sides off, more spark in her eyes than Allen had ever seen. “You used me. I trusted you and you used me. It’s why you changed your mind about me isn’t it? And you were in on it, weren’t you Kyle? You two played me for a fool. For what? I don’t know anything about my father’s dealings. What did you think to gain from stringing me along?”

“No, doll. Neither of us knew who you were until you signed in at Steele Image that night. And I didn’t put two and two together until you told me who you were,” Allen tried to appease. A kernel of suspicion started to plant itself and he crushed it before it dug in too deeply. The fact that Kyle had all but pushed Allen into a relationship with Nicki was a pure stroke of chance he was going to have to come to terms with. Kyle couldn’t possibly have known what the result would be. “I know it’s seems too much to believe, but trust me. Everything has been one long series of coincidences.”

“You’re a liar,” she screamed.

“He’s not lying, Nicki,” Kyle told her, shooting her a glare which seemed to bank her fury. “I’ve known Allen for thirty years and I’ve never known the man to lie. He may have held secrets for that long or longer…” Kyle shot Allen a look that told him he wasn’t happy with the fact he didn’t know as much about his friend as he once thought he did. “But he’s never lied. Now if everyone could put their emotions to the side for a few minutes, we’ve got a lot to discuss. First of all, are we all in?”

  2. That was a fun interview and facts. To be in such a small rural school must mean that the classmates know each other so well from Kindergarten to graduation. Do you keep in touch with any of your old classmates?

    1. Hi there! We were very tight knit and I do in fact still keep in touch with a few people on a regular basis, though it's been hard as much as I've travelled with my husband's military career. :) Thanks for stopping by!
