Interview & Giveaway with Edie Ramer

Today, we have the pleasure of having a new author here at the Lair!

Ladies and Gents, please give a warm welcome to

**Ms. Edie Ramer**

Ms. Edie and I met a while back at Ms. Lori Brighton's blog and I have followed her ever since.

She is a wonderful person and I am tickled that she wanted to come over to the Lair.

Shall we get this show on the road....

Welcome Ms. Edie and thank you for coming over today!

Cecile, thanks so much for the invite. You have a cool place here. Very nice, er, decorations.

Oh, thank you... I love my, er, decorations! So, how have you been doing?

Great! It’s a fun and thrilling time.

What has been been keeping you busy?

Promoting my book. Getting ready to put my next book up. Reading other people’s books. Family stuff. Walking my dogs. Worshipping my cat. Making a chocolate cake that didn’t quite turn out, but we’re eating it anyway.

I love my puppies... but I so want a kittie! Okay... Tell us a little about yourself... Wait... That you have not shared with anywhere else! Ha! Gotcha!

LOL I’m the middle child of five kids, all of us close in age. For my first ten years, I shared a bedroom with my two sisters. I think that taught me at a young age to be open. I recently shared online one thing that I’ve kept to myself. I’ve had four agents. I was afraid I’d scare other agents away, but now that I’ve gone indie I don’t care.

Okay, I am going to jump right in this... Cattitude! Tell us your story on this unique story. I love the spin you put on the point of view!

I love my cat. She’s loving and unique and brave and fast (I’ve seen her kill mice). I thought that would be great qualities for a heroine. Before this, I’d been writing mysteries (I’ve had numerous short stories published in mystery magazines), so I came to romance with my own spin. I definitely put my spin on Cattitude.

Here’s the blurb:

It’s all in the Cattitude . . .
After Belle the cat switches bodies with a psychic on the run from a murderer, she wants her perfect cat body back instead of this furless human one. But she doesn’t count on falling in love with her former owner. Or that a CEO and a beauty queen want to use up her nine lives. Now is her chance to prove anything a human can do, a cat can do better.

Can you tell us a little about Max and Belle (that does not give away the story)?

Max thinks he has to take care of everyone, even when they don’t want him to. And at the same time, he wants to live his own life. Just as he’s about to step away from his caretaker role, this…woman comes into his life. She’s been in an accident outside his home and refuses to let him take her to the hospital. He’s compelled to help her until he finds someone else to take over the job.

Belle has attitude in her cat body and her new human one. She’s not going to the hospital or the police or anywhere. Max’s home is her home, and no one is going to make her leave. Unless they kill her first…

Do you see yourself expanding this story into a series? If so... who next ~ Ted or Tory?!

You’re the third person to ask me this in one day. I don’t have plans, but maybe I should!

Well, this is because this a story that has two people screaming for their own story! And I mean... I would love to see what I can do with Ted, I mean what you could write about Ted... What has your attention now... Just give us just a tease??

My next book, Dead People, will be up soon, before Halloween, I hope. I just got the cover, and I LOVE it. I’m trying to think up a short blurb for the cover and it’s driving me crazy. The book is darker than Cattitude, but it still has a heroine with attitude. I think all my heroines have attitude. Hmm, that probably says something about me.

Do you have anything coming up.... (I read something at Blodeuedd's place... **big grin**)?

I hope you mean Dead People. My next book after that will be a dragon story.

Here’s the blurb for Dead People:

A sexy ghost whisperer thinks the scariest people are the living.

When Cassie Taylor talks, ghosts listen. She wants to heal their souls so they can leave earth. Brooding songwriter Luke Rivers wants to give his recently found daughter a normal home, but he discovers his new house in small town Wisconsin is haunted by a ghost with an attitude. His ghost whisperer has an attitude too — even before someone tries to kill her. So why does he have the hots for her? And why does she lust after him? He wants conventional; she wants acceptance. No wonder she thinks men are hard and dead people are easy.

What are you reading now?

I’m reading two books. Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie, and a non-fiction book for writers on marketing. I haven’t gotten very far with the second one.

Ohhhhh, I read Maybe This Time by Jennifer Cruise. It is a great book! You will enjoy it! Okay..... I know you have not been to the Lair before... This is when we get *cough* personal!
And remember, it is Halloween and my Birthday..... here we go....

***Do you hear that wicked laughter floating around the Lair***

Yes, I do hear wicked laughter. It echoes too. Very odd. And Happy Birthday!!!!!! I’m an October baby, too.

Cats or Dogs? I have both. But since my cat is in front of me, trying to play with my mouse, I’ll say her. And right now, she’s shedding less than the others, so that puts her on top.

Vampires or Werewolves? Werewolves. I like animals.

What do you give out for Halloween? We only buy what we like to eat, so Snickers is at the top of the list.

What would we find.......
On your night stand? Nothing. We only have one, and it’s on my husband’s side.

Hummmm... maybe I should have asked what is on your hubs night stand! **snickers**
Under your bed? I’ve looked recently! Just to make sure our cat hadn’t hacked up anything down there. No hairballs, but a lot of cat hair. Good thing we’re not allergic.

In your closet? A mess! I keep thinking I need to organize it. My husband has the neat closet.

What was your best birthday present ever? My birthday is coming soon, too. My husband is so bad at presents. The best presents he buys are the ones I pick out myself. When we were first married, he bought me a giant stuffed cat. I still have it. Every once in a while, I think of giving it away, but I never do.

If you could be one super hero - who would you be and why? When I was a child, I wanted to be Supergirl. I daydreamed of flying and saving people. I’d still like to fly, and I guess I could save people too. I’d be Superwoman, though. I don’t want to go back to being a girl.

Okay my boys want to welcome you t the Lair ~ Tribal Style!

Hard or Soft? Soft! (I think. It depends on what you’re talking about.)

Sweet or Sour? Sweet. I’m a sugar addict.

Whip Cream or Chocolate Style? That’s a tough one. I can’t make that choice. Why not both?

Bites or Nips? Hmm. Don’t like pain. I’d prefer neither.

Oral or.... I think it’s time to stop being open. lol

Okay boys... It is time to wrap this up. You are making Ms. Edie blush ten shades of red!

Ms. Edie, I want to thank you so much for coming over to my place today! And I am truly hoping you had a great time!!!

Cecile, I had a terrific time! These are the most interesting questions I’ve gotten.

I am so happy to say that Ms. Edie is so kind to giveaway two of ecopies of Cattitude!

  2. Great post and Edie, good on you for going Indie, I myself am not at that stage yet, but it has benefits to it definitely! I absolutely love the fact a cat is taking over a human body, very original and sticking like all my hands fingers feet and toes high up in the airfor a chance to win an e-copy ofcourse! (don't try to imagine it's not a pretty sight ;-) )

If I could be a superhero I'd like to be Storm from x-men. I love the weather and think she has amazing powers!!!! Looks gorgeous too ofcourse.

Cecile thanks for the bringing a new author to my attention!!!!
