  1. Good Morning Cecile!

You did have a great weekend. You got a set of William's sonnets and plays? Be. Still. My. Beating. Heart. I've been enamoured with the bard's genius since infancy I think. It's a sickness actually. We will have to talk. The sonnets are my favorites. You must MUST read "Daring Time", by Beth Kery when it comes out.

As for "Passion Unleashed", well you are in for a treat. It is officially one of my breathless books. :)

    Warm Regards

  2. Oh Cecile,,

I have the sonnets on my library and every now and then I break it out, just to get back to basic of what romance is....

    Lovely book selection this weekend...

    Happy reading.

  3. Good Morning Ms Lea!!
I did have a really good weekend.
Yes, the William books were a real treat to find. It was sitting among a pile of dirty/dusty looking books. It was actually kinda of sad to see it just sitting there. My hubby looked at me as if I lost my mind. But he knows that I love to read and I am like you... I love so far what I have read by him... I have fallen in love with him and his stories. I just had to have the books to just have my shelf; how could one pass that up! Especially when they were both 50 cents a piece!! Come on!!!

I will definitely put Beth Kery's book on my list... heading over to goodreads right now to fix that!!!

Now for the Passion series, do I have to read them in order... because I will be looking to purchase the two before it. And I will wait to read it if i have too... OCD with order sucks!

  4. Good Morning Cecile!

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! I stayed away from the bookstores all weekend.....that is pretty unusual for me! Instead of books I did yardwork....weeding, planting new plants...not my most favorite thing to do but once it is done it is nice to see how all the hard work pays off!! :)

  5. Hey Cecile:

I've reviewed both "Wicked Burn", Beth Kery's contemporary book, and and ARC of "Daring Time" on my blog. Here is the link: http://lea-closetwriter.blogspot.com/search/label/Beth%20Kery if you are interested.

Also I'll be holding a contest to win a copy of "Daring Time", in a couple of weeks. :)

As you can tell, I'm pretty impressed with her work.

Larissa Ione is one of my favorite, favorite authors also. Here is the link to my thoughts with respect to her books: http://lea-closetwriter.blogspot.com/search/label/Larissa%20Ione I would highly, highly recommend you read the Demonica Series in order: Pleasure Unbound, Desire Unchained and Passion Unleashed. The plot of each book builds on the previous.

  7. Good Moring Blanche... well it does sound like you had a very rewarding weekend then! Yard work always makes one feel good. You are bring things alive and making the world (your world and ours when you share pics) a more beautiful place... I think you deserve a trip to the bookstore!!

Lea, thanks for all the heads up on both Beth Kery and Larissa Ione! I will definitely be looking those things up! Looking forward to reading those!

  8. Hey Barbara... what did you do this weekend? Yes, book shopping was very nice! I had to share the William Shakespear find with you guys... no one else would understand!!!

  9. lolololololol Barbara knows all about William and I. She had a picture of Yorick's skull on a post at her blog not too long ago.

Then Dottie posted it too! Hamlet is the one play I'm not that keen on - they were all so nuts... lol

  10. Hey Cecile! CONGRATS on your win! That's awesome!

I'm currently reading 'Edge of Hunger' at the moment. It definitely has paranormal elements that I've never read before which is refreshing.

    Happy Reading,

  11. Hey VampGirl, well you will definitely have to let me know how Edge of Hunger goes. I am interested in what you think!

  12. Lea, yea... Hamlet story was kinda intruging because we all have (well at least me and most people that surround me) cracked up families! So, it was refreshing to see someone thought that way those many years ago!!! LOL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yeah, "cracked up family" is one way to put it. It was the whole oedipal thing (at least that's the way I always saw it, I know there was the whole father issue - but yikes) between Hamlet and Gertude. :::shivers:::

Then there was Ophelia - double yikes. There has been much argument that her character has been highly misunderstood, but seriously??

Man, I've got to get some work done. Sorry to ramble - see what you've done to me? lol

    Warm Regards

  14. LOL... isn't that what friends are for Lea... you keep you from doing more important things like work!!
Yes, I do think Ophelia was greatly misunderstood... she just needed a get away from them! lol!!

  15. Hey Cecile! Bookshopping is always fun :). No new books for me since last week :).

We went out without the kid Friday. We went to a 40th b-day party of a friend of my husbands. Devin stayed with Grandma! We don't do that very often at all. So it was nice to be out. I tend to stay quite and just watch and listen to people...kinda do a speak when spoken to...it's interesting watching people when they've had a bit to much to drink :).

  16. Oh and congrats on the Larissa Ione book. I still need to read the second two :(.

  17. Good Morning Cecile!!

Congrats on your win, I saw your name on Vampire's Wire!!

Shakespeare's sonnet was a very good find! Love them, always having to explain them to the kids when they read them for school. They just don't understand the old masters.

Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights was the first true love story I'd ever read, it will always hold a special place in my heart, it still brings tears to my eyes.

You had a mighty fine weekend Cecile!

    Happy Reading!!

    Dottie :)

  18. Amy C,
It is always nice to observe people; especially when they are drinking. I have a friend of mine (she is actually like a little sister to me) who turned 23 this weekend, so we went out with her... and let me say... I was exhausted Sunday!! But I did observe a lot of people with a little to much alcohol that night! LOL!! Especially when they try to dance!! The last time we actually had a night out was for my b-day last year (and we didn't even leave the house); my b-day is the day before Halloween (that is why I love paranormal so much) and we have a costume party every year... so that was the last time we did anything.
Glad you and hubby enjoyed yourselves! It is nice to get out once in a while and be adults!

  19. Dottie! Thanks!!! I was so excited to see that I won!! I had been wanting that book since I have seen on almost everyones site!!

I could not pass up the Shakespear set! Just to simply have it on my shelf made my heart skip a beat!! Hubby nor daughter understood why my eyes gleamed - go figure! And to find Wuthering Heights was truly a treasure find. I have heard that a lot of people have fallen in love with that book, so I figured while I had in my clutches for only 25 cents... I could NOT pass it up!!! Imagine!!!
Love hugz and smiles to you Dottie!!!

  22. Do that, Cecile! I would love to see some. We've never done anything like that, not even growing up :(. Oh well!! Well, once, my mom let me have a b-day sleepover and we went trick or treating. It was my 12th b-day :). Sometimes I'll dress up with Devin. I did twice. It was fun :).
