*Giveaway & Guest Post* The Beach by Jaye Frances

The Beach is Available on Amazon NOW!!
Here's a synopsis:

Alan loves the beach. More than a weekend respite, it is his home, his refuge, his sanctuary. And for most of the year, he strolls the sand in blissful solitude, letting nature—and no one else—touch him. But spring has given way to summer, and soon, the annual invasion of vacationers and tourists will subdivide the beach with blankets, umbrellas, and chairs, depriving Alan of his privacy and seclusion—the fundamental touchstones of his life.

Resigned to endure another seasonal onslaught of beach-goers, Alan believes there is nothing he can do but prepare for the worst.

 But fate has other plans.

Delivered to him on the crest of a rogue wave, the strange object appears to have no purpose, no practical use—until Alan accidentally discovers what waits inside. Now he must attempt to unravel an ageless mystery, unaware that the final outcome will change his life, and the beach, forever.
In the companion novella Short Time, you’ll meet a respectable but bored middle-class executive, who exchanges his future for six months of excess and extravagance, only to find out the price he must pay for his hedonistic indulgence is beyond anything he could have imagined.

I obtained the above information at Ms. Jaye's website!

Now I will turn the Lair over to Ms. Jaye... I hope you enjoy what she has to say!! And beware at the end there is a giveaway....... Only if you are good!! *Evil wink*

Thank you, Cecile, for having me back on All I Want and More with my new sci-fi fantasy release The Beach, a “duella” including the bonus novella Short Time.

“Make a wish!” Many of us hear those words spoken every year, just before we blow out the candles on a brightly-lit birthday cake. It’s fun to fantasize about what our lives could be like if we had more money, or fame, or talent. But how many of us have actually considered the results of crafting our own destiny—especially the consequences that could arise from taking fate into our own hands?

It’s a question that Alan, the main character in The Beach, must answer when he begins to consider the possibility of creating a new and very different future for himself.

In the following excerpt, Alan is having a conversation with Efil, an unusual stranger who professes to have the ability to fulfill Alan’s fantasy.

Here’s an excerpt:

“Now, where were we?” Alan asked.

“I believe we were discussing the details of your desired outcome.” Efil clasped his hands together, forming a steeple with his index fingers. “The specifics of which had something to do with reducing the number of people within the immediate vicinity.”

“And the best way to accomplish it,” Alan added. “That’s when the deal started going south.”

“It isn’t necessary to re-visit those circumstances. I now have a much better idea of what you desire. Your goal is to prevent others from having access to this specific stretch of sand. Is that correct?”

“Right! I want them gone . . . all the damn people.”

“All of them?” Efil asked.

Alan hesitated. If Efil was asking, it was probably for Efil’s benefit. Alan commended himself for catching it. He would proceed with caution. “I’m not sure . . . about all of them.”

“Then perhaps you want less people.”

“Yeah, a lot less,” Alan confirmed.

“Do you have a specific number in mind? If you give me the final count, I can distribute even allotments of gender and age over the entire beach, or deposit them at opposite ends of the strand if you like.”

Alan walked to the kitchen window and stared at the still-paralyzed landscape. If I hand-picked the crowd, I could keep the numbers to a comfortable minimum and surround myself with a better class of people. People who I might enjoy being around. People like . . . me. “No, not a specific number. I want to choose who stays and who goes.”

“And those who go, what shall be their fate?”

“I don’t care what happens to them. I just want them gone. Permanently. Give them leprosy or turn them into shark bait. It makes no difference to me.”

“Then you’re leaving the means used to eliminate those whom you find undesirable up to me?”

“Is that a problem?”

Not at all,” Efil replied. “Simply a necessary disclosure, required when a client has relegated the power to inflict injury, illness, malady, or disease. So how shall we begin? Who will be the first to be purged?”

Here’s a brief synopsis:

Review: The Kure by Jaye Frances

The Kure

Let's start with a synopsis of the story:

Forbidden by law and denounced as an abomination by the church, the Kure has been hidden for centuries . . .

John Tyler has never met Sarah Sheridan. But he knows he must find her, and somehow convince her that she is the key to unlocking the power of an ancient ritual that will rid his body of a rare and ravaging disease.

But as cure quickly becomes curse, John realizes the ritual is more than a faded promise scrawled on a page of crumbling paper, and he discovers, too late, that the unholy text has unleashed a dark power that is driving him to consider the unthinkable.

Ultimately, John must choose between his desperate need to arrest the plague that is destroying his body, and the virtue of the woman he loves, knowing the wrong decision could cost him his life.

I obtained the above information from Ms. Jaye's website.

I am a new reader to Ms. Jaye work and she is very intriguing. The story she has to tell is very in-depth. I would consider this story to be a western story even thought there are no guns being drawn or anything like that, but it is during the horse and buggy era... So to me that is western era.

The story is of a man - John - who has some type of infection. Now I am not sure where or how he caught it but it is in a very private area and he just wants it healed by any means necessary....

There is a way of getting rid of it... The Kure....

It is not something anyone wants to talk about or discuss or even breath the words about... So, John is kinda left in a pickle because the reasonable way to cure him is leeching... Which was popular back then.... But can John handle that or does he venture out to try The Kure...

You will have to read to see what happens with John and his predicament.

*Giveaway/Guest Post* The Cruise: All That Glitters by Jaye Frances

Here is a brief synopsis:
It’s love on the high seas for Dean, a thirty-something bachelor taking his first cruise, hoping for a shipboard romance. On the prowl for the elusive hard-body, he quickly becomes disillusioned, wondering if his expectation of a boatload of beautiful sea nymphs is something found only in travel brochures.
Until he meets Angel.
She is the girl of his dreams, brought to life as a bewitching goddess, ready to engage in every sensual delight. Quickly lured into submission by Angel’s seductive charms, Dean is ready to surrender his heart and soul to this provocative beauty.
Until he meets Marcie . . .
The Cruise is a comedic and twisting satire about love on the high seas with Dean, a mid-thirties bachelor hoping to strike a mother load of beautiful and receptive women. It contains some mature language and situations and is best suited for the adult reader.

Thank you, Cecile, for hosting me today on All I Want and More with my new adult romantic satire, The Cruise – All That Glitters. The story is a humorous parody of a cruise ship romance as told from the perspective of Dean, a confident, self-assured single guy with a full head of hair, a bursting libido, and a suitcase crammed full of lustful expectations.

Driven more by his carnal urges than rational perspective, Dean heads to the high seas hoping for the opportunity to fulfill his fantasy of scoring with as many women as possible. In this humorous romp down the considerably bumpy road of adult romance, Dean meets two very different women, both of whom make him reconsider his irreverent and unconventional assessment of life in the raw lane.

In the following excerpt, Dean is seated across the desk from travel agent Debby. As she suggests the usual vacation options, Dean quickly realizes that none of them offer access to the mother lode—an abundance of hot, sexy women to explore and plunder. Rapidly losing interest, he is nearly ready to give up, until Debby makes her final recommendation . . . a cruise.

Here’s an excerpt:

I notice the huge travel posters behind Debby’s desk—four-color testaments to the blazing sunsets of Hawaii and the clear blue oceans of Tahiti and the Bahamas.

“I don’t know,” I say finally. “Maybe someplace by the water.”

Debby nods, her face appearing to move independently from the cosmetic landfill that covers it. “Sounds like you’re thinking about a beach vacation. Of course, some of the nicest beaches are found in the Caribbean.”

A tropical island. Palm trees. White sand. Gentle trade winds. And me, strolling along the shore, hand-in-hand with a native beauty, both of us wearing nothing but flowers in our hair.

“Sure, why not?”

“Are you a diver?” Debby asks. “There are lots of opportunities to explore old wrecks in the Caribbean.”

I shake my head no.

Shipwrecked. That wasn’t exactly what she’d said, but it sounded so . . . so perfect; mercifully spared by the churning sea, tossed onto a sandy beach where I sit dazed, not yet able to make it to my feet. Barely lucid enough to distinguish between reality and hallucination, I squint at the horizon, straining to focus, my vision still hazy from the salt and sun.

Suddenly, I detect movement, a blur in the distance. I feel a wave of sickening uncertainty as I realize I am not alone in this tropical paradise. I begin to imagine the worst: wild animals, or even headhunters, slowly sizing up their next trophy. I wait, unprotected and half-blind as a dozen indistinguishable forms move toward me.

In moments, I am surrounded. My soon-to-be captors reach for me, their touch bold and unafraid. Knowing I have no other choice, I resign myself to battle. I grab for the closest assailant, determined to dispatch as many of my attackers as possible. But my efforts are at once disarming and surprisingly unnecessary as my fingers find soft, yielding skin. I ease my grip, feeling the focus of my assault trembling with fear.

My vision beginning to clear, I squint through the briny mask that still covers my face and see the clouded forms turn rich with detail. As they peer from a sea of softly flowing blond hair, I am greeted with smiles of unmistakable welcome as a dozen pair of huge blue eyes meet my own.

They are the most beautiful castaways I can imagine. As I scan the few remaining shreds of fabric clinging to their taut, supple bodies, I realize I’m looking at the tattered uniforms of cheerleaders—high school seniors. I smile and open my arms as they gather around me, each one offering the press of bare flesh, each one in obvious compliance and ready submission, each one knowing instinctively that only I can protect her from certain danger that lurks in the coming night.

I wonder if that is somewhere in the brochure. I wonder if good ol’ Debby, Travel Professional, can recommend a resort with a great beach, close to a high school.

“I guess an island sounds okay,” I answer. “But it’s got to be affordable. Do these trips ever go on sale?”

“How about several islands for the price of one?” She hands me a glossy booklet and adds, “Take a look at this.”

I flip through the pictures. There are men in tuxedos and women in low-cut dresses, their heads tilted back, laughing at God knows what. A black waiter—he’s not laughing—stands by their table. On the opposite page, good-looking couples gather around a grand piano, sipping exotic drinks and showing off their tans.

I turn the page and see the layout of a huge cruise ship.

Suddenly, Debby holds up a single finger, indicating our conversation has been suspended. She turns to her computer screen and begins a dry reading of room accommodations and prices into the phone.

I open to the center foldout and find an overview of the boat’s recreation deck. An inset photo offers an aerial view of hundreds of empty lounge chairs lining the edges of two pools set end-to-end. Another picture shows the activity at sea, with many of those chairs occupied by the prone bodies of perfectly proportioned women. Darkly tanned and nearly naked—some have untied their tops—they boldly prop themselves up on their elbows, unfettered by fabric or social restraint. They look spectacular. And ripe. And ready for harvest. I decide it is a magnificent sight, this incredible ship of mostly beautiful women.

Giveaway: The Possibilities of Amy by Jaye Frances

Ladies and gentlemen, I want to you to put together a warm, hussy lair welcome to a wonderful author...

Let's welcome...
Ms. Jaye Frances

Thank you, Cecile, for hosting me on All I Want And More today. I really appreciate the opportunity to give your readers a sneak peek at my new romance novella, The Possibilities of Amy.

In The Possibilities of Amy, David is a high school senior—a normal, unassuming guy, trying to keep hormones and heartache in balance. And until now, neither has presented much of a challenge. But his life changed the day Amy, a new transfer student, walked into his English class. Even though he’s made up his mind that she’s the love of his life, he’s the only one who knows it. Too shy to approach her, he keeps his feelings a secret, hoping fate or destiny, or a new seating chart, will bring them closer together. But his buddies have noticed Amy, too. And when David finds out about their plan to see who can be the first to seduce her, he is forced into taking action—and a leap of faith—with his new romantic interest.

Here’s an excerpt:

Suddenly she was pushing back, resisting.

“What’s the matter?”

“Let go for a second. I need to move.”

We were a clumsy tangle of arms and legs as she again turned to face the passenger side of the car. Leaning against me, she arched her body, lifting her bottom off the seat. With a quick tug, she popped the snap on her shorts.

“They’re cutting into me.” She shoved them down a little, just off her hips.

In the flickering light of the movie screen, I could see tiny flashes of her navel, and lower, the top of her pale blue bikinis.

I wanted to tell her how beautiful she was, and how I had never been with anyone like her. But surely others—probably many others—had said the same thing, and I didn’t want her discounting my feelings because I was not the first.

Softly stroking her hair, I lifted the strands with my fingers and kissed her neck, tasting her skin as I slowly worked my way to her shoulder. “Okay?”

“Uh-huh.”

My hands fell lower, skirting the sides of her breasts. The smooth, unmistakable feeling of unfettered skin confirmed the absence of a bra, and I reveled in the soft, supple contours.

Without warning, her hands covered mine. I froze. But instead of pushing me away, she placed my fingers under the elastic rim of her blouse, inviting me to enjoy her firm flesh.

Taking her breasts with determined caution, I circled each nipple with light pressure, feeling them grow hard between my fingers. Even after being granted permission, I touched her like a precious sculpture, overwhelmed with the sensuality and unexpected intimacy of our connection.

She nuzzled against me and I brushed light kisses across her cheek until I heard her release a little half-moan, a sound that seemed to come from somewhere else.

I let her take over, guiding my hands where she wanted them—down her belly to skim the top of her panties with our combined fingertips. Her movements were sure and certain, and it surprised me. Without hesitation, and in a way that told me I had her complete consent, she directed my hands lower.

We approached it together. The area was not just moist, but soaked with the very essence of her. Slipping my fingers from hers, I pulled at the silky material, moving it as far to the side as it would go. The pungent aroma struck me without warning, filling the car, not mixing or blending with the scent of shampoo and perfume, but colliding with it, breaking through, overpowering everything.

The Possibilities of Amy is Available Now in Kindle eBook on Amazon for only $.99

Here’s a brief synopsis:

Amy is the ultimate trophy girl—gorgeous face, killer body, and a vivacious personality. But there’s something else about her, something that makes her even more special. Amy is new. A transfer student from out of state, she’s starting her senior year without knowing a soul. And that means she’s up for grabs, available.

Infatuated from the moment he sees her, David is determined to meet Amy, and if the fates are willing, to spend the rest of his life with her. But his shyness prevents him from approaching her—until his friends devise a contest to determine who will be the first to prove their manhood by seducing her.

Giveaway & Guest Post ~ The Kure Jaye Frances

The Lair is happy to announce a new author that has come over to play....

Ms Jaye Frances!!!

Thank you, Cecile, for hosting me on All I Want and More today. I really appreciate the opportunity to talk about The Kure, and to let your readers know about my “Resolve To Read” promotion on Amazon through the month of January.

***You are quite welcome Ms. Jaye... Have fun!=)***

What do you do with two people who unexpectedly find themselves falling for each other, despite an onslaught of supernatural obstacles?

John Tyler, one of the main characters in The Kure, is stricken with a ravaging plague that is destroying his body. When he discovers the existence of a demonic book of healing called the Kure, he learns that it contains a forbidden ritual that might help him. The problem? It requires the complicity of a young virgin on the day of her eighteenth birthday. John’s search for such a woman leads him to Sarah Sheridan, and although he originally seeks her out to determine if she will help him unlock the spell’s power, after meeting her, he knows he could never ask her to make such a sacrifice.

When an angered Sarah confronts John about his true intentions, he tries to explain that he had long ago changed his mind about asking her to participate in the wicked rite. And as an unexpected romance begins to blossom, they find themselves contriving a plan to use the ancient ceremony in a different way, hoping it will rid John of the devastating disease.

In the following excerpt, John is distraught when their attempt to invoke the power of the Kure has failed. John and Sarah share a tender but bittersweet moment in which Sarah reveals her feelings for him, and John is filled with regret and disappointment when he realizes he will never be able to enjoy the physical pleasures Sarah could bring him.

Here’s an excerpt:

Sarah reached out from under the blanket, her fingers tenderly finding their way between his. Fearing the agony he would have to endure, she tried to hide her anxiety, but she couldn’t mask the betraying quiver in her voice. “I’ll ride out to your house early. We’ll take your wagon and go into town from there.”

John didn’t argue. If she wanted to be with him, regardless of the outcome, he would not let his pride keep her away. He nodded slowly, and then much as a devout worshipper gazes upward seeking divine strength, he lifted his eyes to hers.

But Sarah’s attention was elsewhere, stolen by a growing arc of white light slowly forming over her bare feet. Following the gleaming ray to its source, she was staring up at the large ocular window, where a bright silver-blue moon was edging its way across the lens. “There’s our moon,” she said with a long sigh. “I was so sure we could make it work.”

John took another drink. As he lowered the bottle, he let his eyes wander to Sarah’s long, shapely legs. Stretching beyond the edge of the blanket, they were tan and sculpted with muscle. Even in the pale amber lamplight, he could see tiny, nearly transparent blonde hairs glistening against the brown sugar sheen of her thighs. It was a desire he could only grieve for. Disappointment filled his heart as he realized he might never feel them, light and soft against the side of his cheek.

The disease has already taken my manhood. Even now it keeps me from knowing the pleasure she could bring me.

He raised the whiskey to his mouth, no longer noticing the raw aftertaste. Setting the bottle down, he twisted it into the straw, careful not to release it until it touched solid ground. For a moment, John wondered if Sheridan would miss it. But an empty bottle of bourbon could be replaced. His daughter’s virtue could not.

What if the old man suddenly burst through the door? What would he think? What would he do if he found us like this, both of us naked, with only a thin cover between us?

It was a fleeting thought, and John washed it from his mind as he tilted back the bottle.
He felt Sarah tapping him on the arm. “Move over a little,” she said. “You’re sitting on the edge of my blanket.”

John leaned to the side, freeing the fabric. As he righted himself, he swayed awkwardly, surprised that the liquor was already distorting his balance and slowing his actions.

Raking a few handfuls of hay into a makeshift pillow, Sarah scooted down and turned on her side, shifting and squirming until she was comfortable, unconcerned that her movements revealed a portion of her bottom.

Aching to follow her, John began inching himself lower, reluctantly testing the alcohol-induced daze that was keeping the pain manageable. He wanted to pull her close, strip away the layer of wool between them and satisfy his hunger for the warmth of her skin. Instead, he carefully curved his body away, keeping several inches of space between his infected flesh and her half-exposed backside. It was as close as he dared come.

Bringing the bottle to his lips, he quickly emptied it and closed his eyes, letting his head sink into the straw.

Here’s a brief synopsis:

John Tyler, a young man in his early twenties, discovers he has contracted a ghastly affliction affecting a most sensitive part of his body. When the village doctor offers the conventional, and potentially disfiguring, treatment as the only cure, John tenaciously convinces the doctor to reveal an alternative remedy—a forbidden ritual contained within an ancient manuscript called the Kure.

Although initially rejecting the vile and unholy rite, John realizes, too late, that the ritual is more than a faded promise scrawled on a page of crumbling paper. And as cure quickly becomes curse, the unholy text unleashes a dark power that drives him to consider the unthinkable—a depraved and wicked act requiring the corruption of an innocent soul.

Ultimately, John must choose between his desperate need to arrest the plague that is destroying his body, and the virtue of the woman he loves, knowing the wrong decision could cost him his life.

For a limited time, read “The Kure” for only $.99 (kindle version)

I always spend the last few days of December reviewing my writing plan for the coming year—to determine what’s going to receive priority and how I will budget my time to make sure I get it done. During one of those planning sessions, I noticed my husband was also putting a few goals together for the new year. When I asked him to tell me about his “resolutions,” he said that one of them was to read more, especially books that fall outside his favorite genres, “just to see what else is out there.” We began to talk about how many more people are now reading books of all kinds, primarily due to increased availability and choice of low-cost eBooks for the kindle and nook. I’m constantly reading comments from readers who decided to try a particular author’s work because it was ninety-nine cents, or in some cases, free. Then my husband asked an interesting question: “Why don’t you offer some kind of promotion to encourage more people to read The Kure, with the idea that they’ll be more inclined to read the book if you temporarily lower the price?” I really had to think about this one, but after realizing it might motivate a few more folks who are not familiar with The Kure to take a look, I decided to do it. I’m calling it “Resolve To Read”, and it’s going on right now. Effective for the month of January, the kindle version of The Kure can be purchased for ninety-nine cents on Amazon. So if you were planning on buying a kindle version anyway, why not take advantage of the “Resolve To Read” promotion and save two bucks?

I’d like to conclude by sharing a few details about myself. I was born in the Midwest and grew up surrounded by traditional values and conservative attitudes (which I quickly discarded). I’ll readily admit that my life’s destination has been the result of an open mind and a curiosity about all things irreverent, and I invite visitors to my website with a friendly caveat: “Be forewarned, my life has not followed the traditional path of homemaker, wife, and mother.” When I’m not consumed by my writing, I enjoy cooking, traveling to all places tropical and “beachy” and taking pictures—lots of pictures—many of which wind up on my website. I live on the central gulf coast of Florida, sharing my home with one husband, six computers, four cameras, and several hundred pairs of shoes.Link
