Review: Wolf Nip (Book 6) by Vivian Arend

Wolf Nip
Granite Lake Wolves, Book 6

Publication Date: February 12 2013
Samhain PublishingISBN: 978-1-61921-452-1
Type: eBook
Genre: Paranormal, Shape-shifters

Length: Novella

Cat got your tongue?

Tessa Williams is looking to make her mark outside the family business, and the unusual landlocked paddle wheeler she spots in Haines, Alaska, strikes her as the perfect location. Only the owner is being difficult, refusing to sell. Still, she’s sure that replacing her written queries with a little in-person charm is all she’ll need to shortly have her Eco-tour B&B on the road to success.

Local wolf-slash-owner of said vessel, Mark Weaver, isn’t hanging on to the landmark building out of spite. There are more reasons for holding back the sale than are easily explained on paper. A face-to-face meeting to resolve the matter only confounds it—when Mark recognizes Tessa as his mate.

But she’s a cat…and cats don’t do insta-mates.

The sexual attraction between them isn’t in question, just everything else. He wants her. She wants twue wuv. His wolf can’t figure out what the holdup is. Her cat thinks the entire situation, and the pack, are rather amusing.

Somewhere in here is the beginning of a beautiful relationship—if they don’t drive each other mad.

Warning: One hyper cat, one laid-back wolf. Inappropriate use of permanent markers, and a heaping side dish of cat/dog jokes. Shenanigans (read: nookie) in front of a roaring fire. Spiced liberally with sarcasm. Enjoy!

Normally I would let you know if this is a short tale or not... But for this book... I read it in two night sittings - only because I HAD to know! So... I will just say that you will want to know about this Kitty & Wolf that you will read it in a hurry!

Ms. Vivian's stories are not new to me by no means. I absolutely adore her stories of this wolf pack! She has created a world in which I would simply love to live in. Her writing style is fresh and laughable and passion filled... There is never a dull moment in her stories. She wields a pen like a soldier wields his sword! She is dangerous... Especially when it comes to teasing you with her stories!

Tessa and Mark's story is one I have to say was adorable! This is a story where Wolf meets Kitty and it is going to rock his world! Tessa has her sights set on Mark's paddleboat... She knows what she wants but has no idea what she will be up against when it comes to getting the man she never met to sign the boat over to her. She wants more out of life and she is not afraid to go after it. Which is something I admire in her!

Mark knows someone is interested in his paddleboat; but what he didn't know was exactly this who it was. He knew that no matter what the paddleboat needed to stay in his family. The reason why melted my heart (which I will not tell you - because I want you to read the story yourself.)

Ms. Vivian engages you with the storyline of these two people. Tessa does not believe in the "wolf-automatically-knowing-their-mate thing," she believes that it takes time to develop a relationship. But once she gets in the arms of Mark... things kinda take a turn... for the... different. Can Tessa let go of what she believes in order to embrace what is right in front of her?

This is a treat of a story! Even though this is part of a series, but you do not have to read them in order to understand the family's history. Ms. Vivian did an awesome job at incorporating all that is needed to NOT be lost! Trust me... I know this because I have not read them in order... Yes, me - Ms. OCD Have to Read In Order! So, if I can do that... So can you!!

Review: Rocky Mountain Haven by Vivian Arend

It’s the quiet ones that take you by surprise.

Six Pack Ranch, Book 2

Beth Danube’s emotionally abusive husband is dead and buried. So is her heart. It’s no big deal, she has all she wants: her three little boys and a fresh start in a small Alberta town. What she doesn’t want is another man in her life—not now, maybe not ever.

After ten years of unsatisfactory, missionary-position sex, she never expected her libido to reawaken. One look at sex-in-boots Daniel Coleman in a Calgary bar, though, blows the dust off her sexuality.

Sensing an edge of desperation, even fear, beneath Beth’s come-on, Daniel finds himself giving in to the powerful urge to let his normally subdued desires run wild. The lady wants non-judgmental, non-vanilla sex? She’s got it—in and out of the bedroom.

At first, friends with blazing-hot benefits is more than enough. Then she realizes Daniel is burning away the protective fortress around her heart…and the guilty secret she dare not reveal.

This book has been expanded and revised from previous publication.
Product Warnings
One woman determined to retake control of her life, a man with the single-minded purpose of offering her—and her body—everything she needs. Inappropriate behavior in barns, change rooms, and oh-my-gawd phone sex with a cowboy.

I obtained the above information from Samhain Publishing website.

I was given this book for my completely honest thoughts and words... So here goes!

This is not to be considered a short book by page numbers. Coming in around 250 pages... but when you start this book, you will want to finish it! I am a fan of Ms. Vivian's work and I did read book one and review it (here). And to say that I want more on those Coleman boys is an understatement.

This is one family that I would really like to be a part of... Six boys.. Okay, correction.. Six grown, hot, delicious, wrangler wearing, hot bodies, smooth sweet talking gentleman! They each have their own identity, their own history and their own heart of gold... and passion! Let's not forget that! Ms. Arend is crafting these stories in such a way that the whole family is included, which is nice. She is entwining them to where the family is in the background and not over shadowing the main storyline... but keeping you centered that this is all about family.

This story threw me for a curve because it has children in it... And this story really shook me up a bit because of Beth's past. That woman is a woman after my own heart... Beth is a mother of three adorable boys. They are so full of life and just want to be the "man" for their mom. It is so heartwarming to see these three included in the story and to see that Daniel's concern is for them. It is refreshing to see that children really matter. Anyway... Beth is a woman who's past haunts her every day... And she sees the reminder of her past in her boys glances, in their demeanor. She wanted a fresh start... A new beginning... For her and the boys.. She wanted control over her life and her future! That was until she met tall, dark and handsome Daniel Coleman. Would he be the one to change her world... In a forever kinda way??

Daniel is the middle son of the Six Pack Coleman boys (men). He is the sensible one, the one all look to for help with something. He never thought of himself as the settling down type... Especially after what his ex put him through, but we all have demons to fight. Daniel wins my admiration because he is not a victim of is circumstances. He perseveres through life, love and heartache. He has a kind and gentle soul, but oh damn does this man have one soul that burns with passion. He was not sure what the future held for him... But when he meets Beth... His whole world is thrown for a loop!

These two together melt my heart. Their coming together, in more than one way, is sooooo awe touching that it makes your heart sing. This is refreshing take on how families come together and become one. It was difficult to hear the past come out and see the tears and hurt. Watching Beth and Daniel expose themselves to each other was raw, but it made the story so much richer for it.

Then throw in the rest of the Coleman, and this story turned out to be on Hell'va Ride to Haven!
Ms. Arend, you did it yet again! The crew came together for each other when they needed a shoulder to lean on or a hand to hold. They welcome the new comers of the family with open arms. This is such a wonderful, delightful adventure with these Coleman's! I am definitely looking for more to come!

Review: Rocky Mountain Heat by Vivian Arend

Rocky Mountain HeatRocky Mountain Heat
Six Pack Ranch, Book 1
He’s the one who taught her to ride. Now all he wants is to ride her.

Blake Coleman is old enough to know that acting on impulse causes nothing but a heap of trouble. But when trouble’s a western-hat-wearing blonde with slim legs that go on forever, what’s a man to do? Wanting the sweet girl next door is just wrong. The responsible thing to do is keep his hands off.

NOW AVAILABLE

I obtained the above information from Ms. Arend's website!

This is in no way a short story, lol... And if you come to by my place... You will see that Ms. Arend is one of my "very recommendable" authors! I love her writing style. She is one author that leaves me very satisfied and yet leaving me wanting more! Her style is across the board because she knows how to write me the best wolf tales... But yet write me the hottest romance story.... But above all, she knows how to keep it in the family!

This story was no different. Well, I should not say that because it really is a different tale! Ms. Arend introduces us the Coleman Clan. These boys **cough** men are known as the Six Pack Boys.... Well, because there are so many of them, lol! Believe me, I never in life wanted to live on or near a ranch as I do now that I have read this story. Ms. Arend gave and gave and gave and gave and left me wanting more of the Coleman Clan. Having just one is like eating an M&M... You can't just have one!

Jaxi is a very spirited woman. She gives and gives and gives even when you think there is no more to give. Her character makes you want to be her best friend, she just that likable. But I do have to say that I love her "mean" streak. She really is a character! She gives those Coleman boys a run for their money. She has known them for most of her life and yet even though all six are hotties... She knows the one she wants and she is determined to get the man of her dreams. Her life has not always been roses, but she always made the best of what was given to her. That is one of the things I love the most about her. She never played victim to any situation... She grabs life by the horns... And rides it for all it's worth! And she plans on showing one Coleman boy.... *ahem* Man... what a ride she can be!

Blake Coleman is the leader of his brothers. But being the oldest doesn't always mean being the smartest. He is man of morals and values that I think some men of today need to take stock on. They could learn a thing or two... or six things from. He makes you simply fall in love with him for being such a family man. He knows what needs to be done and just does it. He steps in when he knows he needs to... not has to. Coming from a big family taught him to always pitch in and help out your "brothers." But Blake tried to keep his distance from Jaxi... Because he thought he knew what was best... Being ten years her senior, he thought he knew what was best... But Jaxi plans on teaching him that he does not always know what's best!

This story truly has become one of my favorite readings! Ms. Arend drew me in the tale by letting me know that Jaxi has always had her heart set on Blake... And even though Jaxi tried to deter her heart away from him because she knew he was distancing himself away from her... Jaxi went after what she wanted. Showing me Jaxi has balls (so to speak, lol). I love that in a woman... One that is not afraid of going after what she wants. And Jaxi is just that kinda woman. The teasing and the banter was truly a delight to read! The family tension, the family drama was just enough to make the story that much more.... Ms. Vivian also included the family in the story with their own story. So, now I have a taste of what is to come when each of them get their own story...***HINT HINT***. Which I know will be coming! =)

This story is all about family and the Coleman's teach us that... And Jaxi just adds a dash of spice into that family! She stirs things and brings things to a simmer that I admire in my leading lady! And believe she does not let anyone forget she is the leading lady - Minus Mrs. Coleman, lol!!! Ms. Arend, you gave me such a satisfying story... You gave it all to me... Hot tension, sweet romance, spicy loving and delicious teasing... You also gave sweet stories, sad stories... stories that I am dying to learn more about.. You gave me the beginning of a wonderful series to come! Then the setting of the story is just so... refreshing it makes you wonder where stories like these have been all your reading life

Now what are you waiting for.... Go get this book! You won't regret it!

Review: Turn It Up by Vivian Arend

She wants it. He’s got it…and a whole lot more.

Turner Twins, Book Two

Maxwell Turner considers his stubborn and resourceful attitude a plus. After all, it usually gets him what he wants—except for Natasha Bellingham. The long-time family friend may be ten years older than he, but so what? He’s plenty old enough to know they belong together. Now all he has to do is convince her.

Over the past few years Natasha’s love life has degenerated into a series of bad clichés. Her biological clock is ticking—loudly. As a proven architect with her own house-design company, she’s financially ready for a baby. Who says she needs a permanent man in her life for that? She just needs a “donation”.

When Max discovers Natasha’s future plans include artificial insemination, he’s outraged. She wants to get pregnant? No problem. He’s more than willing to volunteer—no turkey basters involved .

But there’s one non-negotiable clause: He wants forever. And he intends to do everything in his power—fair and unfair—to make it happen.

Warning: This title contains one younger man ready, aimed and hell bent on giving one woman everything she wants. Includes interludes against the wall, in a Jacuzzi, on a car hood and even—shockingly enough—on a bed or two. Oh, and about that porch swing? Yup…

I have obtained the above information from Vivian Arend's website.

I also received the book from the author for an honest review. So, let's go!

For those of you that know me... and those that don't this is my little statement about short books.... I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review.

Omg, this book is delicious! Ms. Vivian did a great job at making me fall in love with her characters... As always! This is a great story of how a little determination could go a long way. Max kinda reminds me of "The Train Who Could," lmbo! But remember, you also have to factor in love. It is a power tool. I mean seriously, would you let something as precious as the one you know is yours, slip through your fingers just because of what people thought? How long do you think you could swear off love, men and relationships? That was Natasha's plan. Really, who needs a man who wants to totally devote himself to her, to love her for all she is worth, to defend her and honor her to no end, who wants nothing more than her happiness before his own?

**Ohh yeah, I see you shaking your head. Agreeing with me. I know... I mean, really. Hell, I was signing up for my own Max while reading this**

Natasha was on edge of 35 with a realization of not wanting to be hurt by another hurtful relationship, Tasha wants a family. The unconventional way... she wants a baby with no father in the picture. I mean, who needs a man who eventually will not like what he has at home and go after another woman ~ right?? Tasha thought she was not meant for love ~ of any kind. Hell, not even from her own mother. So what did she have to offer to a man? But what she kept at bay was a hot, young man who wanted her attention more than any other man in her life.... Max. But something held her back from truly coming out the closet about her feelings for this man... Was it his age? Was it that he belonged to a family that kinda took her in? Or was it simply the fact that she felt she could not give him what he would want ~ love...

Okay, so Max is young... I would dare to say really young, but come on. Who would not want a 24 yr old *stud of a man* wanting her? Max might be young, but he was smarter than most 24 yr olds, with his own company and enough money in the bank to not have to care to much about where his next meal came from. But what Max wanted in life was not the conventional thing... He wanted Natasha... someone almost ten years his senior. But the thing is, he has been wanting her since he was barely legal. And one night, when the God's gifted him with the opportunity of a lifetime, does he allow it to slip through his fingers or does he take the freaking bull by the horns and ride for the best ride of his life? Hell, this is a simple answer...

These two have freaking chemistry like a rocket scientist. I understood Tasha's hesitancy to get involved with men after being hurt the way she was in the past... But the past is the past. So with that, Natasha formulates a plan to start her future! But little did she know what a few, few, few drinks would do... You know what they say, "Loose tongues sinks ships," lmbo... Well, her ship had not even left port yet, and someone was already on board with her plan. When Max found out what Tasha wanted, he was all but ready to help her out! What would you lose to have what you truly wanted? How far would you go to make that someone see what was right in front of them? How far would you go to let someone know they freaking rock your world? Well... If you are brave enough, why don't you Turn It Up and tune in to Max and Natasha's story!

And remember... Keep it Dirty, Smutty & Hussy!
