Guest Post with Ms. Cherish D'Angelo

I am so excited to bring to you today a wonderful author..... Ladies and Gents of the Lair, please raise your glass to.... Ms. Cherish D'Angelo. Today I hand my blog over to her... So, please make her feel very welcome today! Now... get comfy and let's see what Ms. D'Angelo has to day!

Why Men Should Read Lancelot's Lady

Thank you so much for hosting me during my Cherish the Romance Virtual Book Tour, which launches my contemporary romantic suspense, Lancelot's Lady, a novel I think men should read too.

Over the years, I've met a man or two who have admitted to reading romance novels, though most had no idea the books they'd read were classified in that genre. Most will tell you they read it for the suspense, but hey, men like a good sex scene too. I doubt they're skimming over those scenes to get to the gun fight.

Many men stay far away from the romance genre, thinking it's only for women. It isn't. Really. Men can read it too. Real men eat quiche and real men can read romance, especially romantic suspense.

Okay, so yes there is a love story, but even men need love in their lives and they can use a dose of romance every now and then. Perhaps if they read more romance novels, they'd understand us women better. Or not.

Romantic suspense isn't just about love and sex. There's a strong mystery element, which often begins with a crime or something threatening. There is a mix of tension, danger and sensuality, just like many novels not found on the romance shelf.

Lancelot's Lady has everything that male readers generally like: adventure, mystery, crime, a nasty bad guy, a beautiful woman, humor, tension, guns, and a chase scene that will leave them soaked. Above all, it has a good story with memorable characters. At least that's what fans of Lancelot's Lady have told me.

So, ladies, buy your man a copy of Lancelot's Lady for his ereader. Don't even mention "romance". Just tell him there's a sleazy private investigator that has his eye on a beautiful woman. Oh, and there are guns.

Lancelot's Lady ~ A Bahamas holiday from dying billionaire JT Lance, a man with a dark secret, leads palliative nurse Rhianna McLeod to Jonathan, a man with his own troubled past, and Rhianna finds herself drawn to the handsome recluse, while unbeknownst to her, someone with a horrific plan is hunting her down.

Lancelot's Lady is available in ebook edition at KoboBooks, Amazon's Kindle Store, Smashwords and other ebook retailers. Help me celebrate by picking up a copy today and "Cherish the romance..."

  2. I totally agree. Men should read romance. I have been trying to get my husband to read them for awhile now. He could use some hints, pointers,so to speak. He thinks romance is fluffy. But not all romance is created equal. *crosses fingers* *says silent prayer*Please let him read a good romance novel soon.

  3. I had one historical novel that captured my hubby's interest eons ago but I lost his interest for the genre as fast as I unexpectedly got it. Perhaps a change of genre can provide the stimulance :)

  7. Great post.I wish men would read more romance but unfortunately I don't see that happening.I think the covers too have something to do with that too.
I however am looking forward to reading this book :)

  8. Thank you all for your comments. :-)

JC, maybe suggest your hubby try Lancelot's Lady. It's contemporary and has a solid suspense angle and a good story. It's not fluffy. lol

Jason, it's great to see at least one man stopped by. Thanks for leaving your email addy. You're now entered in my draws and you'll receive a free ebook, along with anyone else who leaves an email addy.

    Happy reading!

  9. This book just drew me into it as I read the first 2 chapters. I'm very fortunate that Gregory loves romance as much as I do. He keeps teasing me "Don't tell anyone I'm watching chick flicks" -but men love love too! Congratulations Ms. D'Angelo on a great story! I like the pen name too.. Shelina

  11. Hi Shelina, I'm glad you've enjoyed the first couple of chapters of Lancelot's Lady. I hope you and your hubby both read it. :-)

Tricia, yes, guns, blackmail and a chase on the water. What more could a guy ask for? lol

  13. Interesting. I don't think my husband is against romance - so long as it occurs in his sci-fi universes. I might just put Lancelot's Lady where he can find it, though... (We don't have an ereader...)
