*Giveaway & Guest Post* Foreshock by Kari Gregg *Riptide Publishing*

The Lair is happy to have a guest post by Kari Gregg... Please give Kari a warm, hussy Lair welcome! Let's see what Kari has to say....

FOR YOU

What would you do for The One?

Would you give up everything you thought mattered to you?

When I met my husband...Well, I wasn't looking for a relationship, let's just say that. I wanted to finish my degree, move away from home, start my career. Then, maybe, I'd think about dating someone serious. But he was it for me. Say buh-bye to The Plan. Game over. Same for my husband. He'd just gotten out of a bad marriage and the absolute last thing he wanted was another commitment, to try again.

According to John Lennon, life is what happens while you're busy making other plans, but I think he had that a little wrong -- love is.

In Foreshock, Kyle has spent his life denying his feelings, but when he meets Eric, his resistance crumbles.

Kyle liked knowing he could make Eric forget his own name, but he was as hungry for the flash of heat they created together as Eric.

Beautiful.

What happened when they touched was beautiful. And carnal. Loving, hot, and eviscerating all at once. Eric would never get enough of it—or Kyle—and surrendered gladly to the animal burst of arousal.

Kyle has fallen for Eric. Hard. Hard enough to leave his fears behind. He's insecure, unsteady. Love has knocked him flat, but what he feels for Eric and what they have together makes both men better, stronger, and happier.

Book Information:
Foreshock by Kari Gregg

Sometimes the earth really does move.

Kyle Armentrout is every gay man’s fantasy in a tool belt, but he can’t even change a light bulb without injuring himself. Twice divorced and not long from the closet, he’s found his way into a fulfilling relationship at last, but he can’t quite escape the sense that he’s left his manhood behind in the process.

When Kyle’s latest DIY project slides into predictable disaster, his lover, Eric Mulholland, wants him to retire his Allen wrench and accept that he isn’t less of a man for loving Eric.

Then the fault lines of their relationship meet the fault lines of the 2011 Northeast earthquake, and the two lovers learn not just to stay on their feet when the ground shakes, but to actually treasure the tremble.

Word count – 3,700

  1. My husband and I had a very similar meeting. Both fresh out of crappy relationships that had left us NOT looking for love when we ran into each other. Went out on a wednesday, I moved in on friday and three months later he asked me to marry him. (he could have asked three weeks in and I would have said yes) Sometimes it is just meant to be!

    1. Wow, your dh worked fast. :-D So did mine, actually, but I made him wait a yr & a half before we married. I would've moved in with him before then, but one of my grandparents moved in with my folks (I still lived at home) with less than 6mths to live shortly after I met dh. His only granddaughter shacking up would've killed my grandfather for sure. Funny thing is, he danced at our wedding. I think he hung in there long enough to make sure dh made an honest woman of me. ;-p

  2. I am officially a stalker of Kari. I've followed her everywhere this week. :)

My spouse and I were both in relationships when we met. We were friends first. Over the years, we kept in touch and our relationships ended. It was nice that we met again and were able to reconnect. :)

    1. Aww! We didn't figure this out until much later, but I briefly met dh before we started dating. Or rather, we exchanged long distance waves. He and his first wife were neighbors of my brother's family my first year of college, but when we were introduced my nephew was Ghostbusting me into oblivion so I was too busy to notice & he thought I was a weirdo. (He was right. LOL!)

  3. This looks like a great story - I totally relate to love happening when you have other plans. My husband and I started dating when I had just turned 19 and he was still 18 when he proposed. His parents had both been older professionals when they met and married, and that's what they wanted for their sons. Instead, both their boys married before graduating from college :) So much for the parents' plans for them :)

    1. If I'd followed the path my parents had set out for me, I would've never left my home town OR I would've married a friend from HS who ultimately became an engineer -- EEP!

    1. If you liked You Melted Me, you'll definitely looooooooooooooove Foreshock. There's way more snark & set-up in Foreshock, but they're both slice of life vignettes -- a narrow window into the heroes' lives. If you pick the right moment, the one moment that defines the relationship, it's amazing how much can be packed into an economy of words: few chuckles, a whoa-baby flash of RAWR, and a smile at the end. :-D
