Review: Safeword: Matte by Candace Blevins

Here's the blurb:

Matte, pronounced mah-tay, is the word used in some forms of martial arts to stop a fight. It's the Japanese word for stop or wait. Sam (short for Samantha) has made a hobby out of learning the various fighting disciplines, but she also happens to be a sexual submissive. What better safeword than matte?

Sam wants to find someone to submit to who she can't beat in a fight. She's tried to make it work with men from the scene who know nothing about fighting, but it doesn't feel real to her - she needs someone who can truly control her. However, after dating from the fight scene and discovering not all guys like to spank their girlfriends, she's decided to just back away from the whole dating thing for a while… until Fate decides to step in.

Warning: This title contains graphic language, consensual BDSM, bondage, and use of toys including crops, clamps, canes, and floggers.

I obtained the above information from Ms Candace's website!

I was given this book for my hones thoughts and review! So here goes!!

For those of you that know me... and those that don't this is my little statement about short books.... I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review..

I am a fan of Ms. Candace's work... I have looked forward to this story since my last review... And I wish I could just say that this is going to be a one line review... OM "flogging" G - this book is WoW. From start to finish Ms. Candace took my little world an shook it the hell up! I have read a lot of BDSM books, but no one (well, maybe one or two) has pushed my envelope like she did with this book! This is a very explosive book... It will push you, it will drive you... It will make you want more when you don't think you can handle more.

The connection between these two characters are off the charts... Sam is the kinda woman I love - she knows what she wants, she knows where to find it, she is not a shame of what her body and soul crave. She knows she has to be private about what pushes her buttons but she knows that it will take more than a mere man to handle her.... Ethan proves to be just that man! He is everything and more! He delivers just what Sam needs, craves, desires... wants... Question is... Will he give it to her or will he make her fight for it?

The scenes get pretty wild and rough but it done with a taste of style and lust that makes you push to read it... Ms. Candace will give you everything your heart desires and more with Matte... I can only promise you - you will not stop or wait once you pick it up!!!

Look forward to my review to her next book... Safeword: Davenport!

  3. I'm amazed, I have to admit. Seldom do I come across a blog that's equally
educative and interesting, and let me tell you, you've hit the nail on the head. The issue is something which not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about. I'm very happy that I came across this during my search for
    something regarding this.
