Doubtless by Cat Grant
Blurb:

Loving your best friend is hard . . . especially when he's marrying someone else.

On the surface, Steve Campbell seems to have it all: a beautiful home, a snazzy car, and a dream job as one of the country’s top 3-D optics researchers. But underneath, he’s restless and dissatisfied, tired of empty encounters with leggy lab assistants and endless evenings alone.

A chance meeting with a handsome escort lifts Steve’s spirits and opens his eyes to his long-repressed attraction to men—and his love for his best friend and business partner, Connor Morrison.

Connor might’ve loved Steve like that once, but now it’s too late for their happily ever after; Connor’s about to ask his boyfriend to marry him. Fortunately, it's never too late to learn about yourself, and maybe Steve can find a happy ending on his own.

I obtained the above information at Riptide Publishing!

Hello, everyone! Thanks for joining me on my Doubtless blog tour. (Didn’t I just do this last month? And the month before, and the month before that…)

*Leave a comment (your email a must) and you might win one of my backlist books!* Giveaway ends... July 23rd! Cat will pick the winner & notify! :)

I knew before I started writing Doubtless that it would be a different kind of book. For one thing, although it does have a happy ending (or at least, a satisfying ending), it’s not your traditional HEA. In fact, it’s not even a traditional romance, though it is most definitely a love story.

Those of you who’ve read my previous novella Priceless have already met Steve Campbell, 3D optics innovator and a guy who’s got the world on a string – or so it appears to everyone else. But on the inside, he’s battling a massive inferiority complex as well as a bad case of unrequited love for his best friend and business partner Connor Morrison. There’s just one problem – Connor’s already spoken for.

In essence, Doubtless is Steve’s coming of age story (if by age, you mean middle age!) and also a story about selflessness – aka, wanting Connor to be happy, even if it is with someone else. Quite a bit of personal growth for a short story, huh? J

But never fear, Steve will be getting his own happily ever after, as soon as I finish writing my first Christmas story. J

A little about Cat....

EPIC Award–winning author Cat Grant lives by the sea in beautiful Monterey, California, with one persnickety feline and entirely too many books and DVDs. When she's not writing, she sings along (badly!) to whatever's on her iPod shuffle, watches lots of movies, and fantasizes about kinky sex with Michael Fassbender.

  2. I want the stories I read to have a HEA or at least a satisfying ending. No bittersweet or sad endings for me.

Aleks did say it's not a romance but it's still a love story, strange but all right, I liked the previous book. :)
