Cristal Ryder Sneaks Into the Lair

When Cecile asked me to come into her Lair, I didn’t hesitate to say yes! She has so much fun here and I couldn’t miss the chance of being a little bit naughty with her.

I knew right off what I wanted to talk about too. Cowboys. Oh ya. Aren’t theyjust the most delectable form of the male species? They have been a mainstay in the romance writing worldfor a long time. Westerns cast their magical spell and tempt us to be swept up by our hard ridin’, hard lovin’ cowboy and gallop off into the sunset with him. I imagined myself as the heroine many times with my oh so sexy cowboy, endless nights of pleasure under the stars with him or riding beside my man outwitting the bad guys. But he’s only been in my imagination all these years, never really knowing a true cowboy. Until now.

We’ve heard of singing cowboys, rodeo cowboys, rhinestone cowboys, but have you ever heard of a romance writing cowboy? I have and his name is Reid L. Rosenthal. Yep, a true to life, in the flesh, cowboy hat wearing, rodeo, bull ridin’, fourth generation land and cattle owner, oh did I mention a working cowboy. And he writes romance! Could it get any better than that? And he’s pretty darn sexy to boot too!

It’s very hard to find time for reading these days. Something I miss terribly, so I packed a book and took it on holiday. When I opened it and began the story, I was swept away with the characters and their trials. This book is intricately woven in character and plot, the name suites it perfectly Threads West, An American Saga. Reid brings to life the characters and makes you like, feel sorry and even dislike them. A great accomplishment. You’ll begin your trip in the year 1855, in the Rocky Mountains then hop across the pond to travel from Europe, to the British Isles, cross the sea by ship back to America where it lands in New York and begins to sew all thethreads into the fabric of the characters lives. The author drops numerous clues andforeshadowing that like a bread crumb trail, will hint and what’s to come, an arduous trip by wagon train west. This book left me wanting more. It’s not an erotica (although I have heard a rumour he wants to write one *claps hands*), but an historical romance of passion, people and the land, which without the intertwining there would be no story. The author’s passion comes through in the book and I anxiously await with tapping toe for book two, Maps of Fate ,which I know he’s busy working on with four more planned to complete the saga, bringing the story to present time.

I love that he isn’t shy about romance, love, passion and isn’t that an odd thing, being a man. It’s refreshingly welcome. And did I say he’s a real cowboy? Oh, ya, I think I did. I do love a cowboy, sigh.

The following is an excerpt from Maps of Fate, book two. How did I get a book two excerpt? ...connections.

She felt the fire in the smooth caress of his fingertips as they traced across her breast, lingered on her erect and pulsing nipple, then continued down her hips and came to rest lightly, longingly, on the concave valley of smooth belly between her hips. The smell of him, and of them, mingled with the fragrance of sun-baked sage.

Her heart pounded, a strange tingling heat permeated her loins, and she could feel the blush in her face. This was a feeling she’d never known, could never imagine, could barely absorb on so many levels. She swept a soft palm over the cords of muscle in his arm. She was consumed by a desperate wanting, a deep primal need that overrode her butterfly fear of the unknown. She gasped, her hips writhing involuntarily as he lowered himself gently onto her. A momentary stab of pain was followed by overwhelming pleasure cum laude which enveloped her being as he slowly, carefully, began to sink into her.

She groaned, a muffled cry equally grounded in passion, trepidation, and longing. He stopped, tenderly brushed a calloused thumb slowly across her forehead and down her cheek and looked deep into her eyes, “Am I hurting you?”

She felt tears well in the corners of her eyes, bit her lip and shook her head, her full answer to him in the ever-tighter wrap of her arms around his shoulders, the increasing bend of her knees, and the firm plant of her heels against the muscular flesh of his buttocks, drawing him in.

“Don’t stop,” she moaned, “Oh God, please don’t stop.”

Well, then. Okay J So go on out and get yourself a copy! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

“If your mind and spirit are seduced by images of windswept ridge tops, flutters of aspen leaves caressed by a canyon breeze, and the crimson tendrils of dying sun…if your fingers feel the silken pulse of a lover and your lips taste the deep kisses of building passion…if nostrils flare with the conjured scents of gunpowder and perfume, sage brush and pine, and your ears delight in the murmur of river current…if your heart pounds at the clash of good and evil and with each twist and turn of interwoven lives you feel a primal throb, then I have accomplished my mission.”

Shhhhh... Don't tell Cecile I am here.... Lissa Matthews has snuck in the Lair!

Miss Cecile didn't give me a topic to write on. She didn't really even give me any guidelines to go by. She simply asked if I'd guest blog and well...

A while back, I did a post on Kiss and Tell Girls about Girls. In this post, I revealed that I had kissed girls and I liked it very much. I still do like it very much, though I haven't kissed one in a couple of years.

There is something sweet and soft about a woman. It is tantalizing to touch her, to kiss her, to pet her hair, to hold her hand. It is not a new thing for me, this fascination with women. It started when I in high school and has been a part of me ever since. I am neither ashamed of it nor do I try to hide it. It is not simply a sexual thing either. It is much more complex. I have to actually LIKE the woman as a person, want to spend time with her, get to know her... And just like with men, there has to be something that fascinates me about her.

I don't like the bitch or the brat. I don't like the one with her nose up in the air or swaying her ass. I don't like the one that thinks everyone should be looking at her or that is an attention whore. I don't ever really like or desire the popular one. It's the more subtle woman that draws my attention. She's got a quiet smile, bright eyes. She listens and she's attentive. She's far from perfect and desires nothing more than to be loved and to love. She's not the wallflower either, that's me. She's not shy about interests and she's passionate. She's girl, a woman, feminine with a playful side. She's even a little bit of a tomboy, but loves the frills. She's strong and independent, she knows her own mind and she's captivating.

If things never go anywhere beyond friendship, that's fine with me. Most of the men I look at wouldn't even give me the time of day for even friendship, so, she's got one up on them! Grins...

See, being a girl with an interest in girls is not a status thing for me. It's not about a trend or curiosity. Just like with a man, it's about the connection on a level deeper than sex.

But I know two women together garners attention, whether or not they want it or seek it. It opens them to ridicule or fantasy rather than just mere acceptance. I assume it's the same for gay men. Some women have the fantasy of being with or seeing two men together. Hell, I have that fantasy. And some men have the two women fantasy. Again, me too! I wish the female/female genre in romance was as popular as the male/male genre. There's just as much emotion to be brought out, sex just as hot...why isn't it popular? Why isn't it more widely written and published?

So, tell me, what are you thoughts? I'll ask the question I asked way back when on Kiss and Tell Girls. Have you kissed a girl? And did you like it? Would you do it again? What draws you to women? Or keeps you from them?

Do you read female/female erotica/erotic romance? If not, why? If so, why?

C'mon, let's dish...

Billi Jean sets the Lair on Fire.....

I want you to all welcome Ms. Billi Jean to the Lair today...

She is here to give us a glimpse of some hot reading she has been doing lately....... Let's see what's been keeping her occupied...... Shall we.....

Brotherhood of Fire

Elizabeth Moore

http://emoorehotfiction.blogspot.com/

If you like a good ménage, meaning two men both adoring one woman, then this story, Brotherhood of Fire, might be something you enjoy. I know I did. I enjoyed it for several reasons. One, it was hot. Yeah, the buildup and tension Moore creates between her characters is rock hard. Hot. Blazing. Just like her men. Second reason I loved this story. The men. You can get these men, not in your bed – don't you wish! -- but you've met them before. The hungry husband, who is faithful to his wife, loves her and all they have, but….missing something. He's fantasy though, is anything but usual. He wants another guy. Not for him, for her. In their bed. Whoa. And he's hot. Alpha material, hard, tough, fire fighter, always the moving fast, paving the way for them. Then there's the other guy. Whew. Oh my. We've seen his type before, too. Tall, dark, handsome with that military background and now a hard-core fire fighter-EMT. Heck, I'd sprang an ankle just to get him bending over me with those big, calloused, gentle…oh, yeah, so…cough, cough. I liked the guys. So….oh, yep.(blushing) I did like more about the story!

The story line. One thing that has always left me going, uh, okay, hot story, but so not happening. I mean, when a man says to you I want another guy in our bed, would you just say, "What? You want to bring another guy home and in our bed? Oh, well, if that's what you want….." Holy hell, I don't think so. I'd have some serious misgivings. So does Carrie, Garrett's wife. I loved her. She brought up all the reasons why inviting another man into a good, solid marriage wasn't a good idea, but she also listened to and wanted to try out a fantasy that so obviously turned her hunky husband on.

And boy did it get hot. Very hot. And more than hot, it was heartfelt. It's so hard to write and grab a reader's heart and pull it, but Moore does with effortlessly. I loved the story most of all for that, the sentimental side of love, the Happy Ever After sappiness. In Brotherhood of Fire, I loved the HEA because I felt like the three characters shared their HEA with me after going through some real highs and lows. If ever a three-some would work in today's world, these guys and their girl will make it happen.

So, if you're in the mood for a romance, one that touches the heart, and fuels the fire – oh, alright, blazes the fire red hot – give Brotherhood of Fire a go and then harass Elizabeth Moore for the next in this scorching series.

Review: Moonlight Temptation by Stephanie Julian

Moonlight Temptation

Fourth in the Lucani Lovers series

Evie Simmons has magical powers she can’t control and her best friend is a 17-year-old werewolf. Add in the sexy shifter she can’t keep out of her mind and his hot-as-hell friend and it’s a recipe for disaster. Dr. Dane Dimitriou knows Evie has had a hard time adjusting to her new life in Etruscan magical community—almost as difficult as his denial of his feelings for her have been. And he’s got the perfect cure—his best friend. Easygoing Ryan Maguire is the opposite of stick-up-his-ass Dane. He can act as a buffer. Dane can get close, but not too close. Yeah, right. These sexy men may be just what the doctor ordered for Evie.

I obtained the above information from Ms. Julian's website.

And I was also given this book from the author to review for my honest thoughts!
So here we go...

For those of you that know me... and those that don't this is my little statement about short books.... I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review...

Oh wow.... Oh wow... This is one fire explosive story. Ms. Julian did it yet again with another hot story. She has a way with her craft and she uses it well. This woman has wrapped me up in a story that I hope will not stop. She allows terminology to flow through the book (so you are not stopping to check out what that means) and she treats us to characters of the past and invites new ones into the world of the Lucani family.

Evie has a seriously crappy past... We met her in the past books; but you won't be left out if you did not read them. (That is another great job by Ms. Julian ~ never leaves you feeling like you are missing something) Evie has a heart the size of Texas. Okay, as long as you get my point there. Evie was kidnapped and used for her blood. Yes, you read that right... they syphoned blood from her and was basically keeping her alive to produce her blood. Her blood is the secret ingredient to one little boy's life. But once freed, you would think that she would want nothing to do with the little boy or his mother (the one that kidnapped her). But... That is where Evie will surprise you... Now, there is another matter at hand... Her heart and her powers...
Will Evie's heart allow her to accept what two people are willing to give her or will her uncertainty over her powers cause her to go up in smoke?

Dane has one major stick up his ass... And sometimes all it takes is his best friend Ryan to remind him to pull out and stop acting like the ass Ryan's knows him not to be. Dane is set on finding a cure for the disease that seems to be plaguing the Lucanis. The same disease that took his father from him. But what will it cost him? When all else fails, he ask his best friend to step in for him and help him out... But what if what Ryan wants threatens to consume the both of them to the fiery pits of Evie?

This is one story that heat up your sheets and catch your heart ablaze! This book will leave you hot and possibly other things you might not want me to mention and for sure... she will leave you drooling over the hot alpha males and their best friend... And she will definitely leave you hanging on to what is to come in the future. Awesome job Ms. Julian!!!
