Coffee Love...In Bowls.
I love coffee. Any of you who follow me around social media and on my blog, know just how much I love coffee. It's an everyday thing for me, oftentimes a multiple times a day thing. A necessity in my life. The funny thing is, I didn't like coffee before about 7-8 years ago. I always loved the smell, especially back in my hometown, driving down by the Maxwell House plant. It was the most amazing smell. And now, I like to have characters who understand my need for coffee because they have the same one.
Now I do have several characters who don't like or even mention coffee but Ella wouldn't be one of those. She loves its as much as I do and maybe more. After all, she drinks it out of bowls rather than cups.
Are you wondering where I got the idea for bowls of coffee? I know I hadn't thought about it or even heard about it before a conversation with an author friend of mine, Graylin Fox mentioned it to me. It's how she drinks coffee. It's probably how I should drink it too. I have mugs in several sizes, even one that's in the shape of a bowl but it's more for lattes. I was intrigued by this idea of coffee bowls and went in search of them. Sure enough I found some. Coffee. Bowls. And well, Ella demanded one. She insisted she had to drink her coffee from a bowl.
Who was I to argue?
Blurb:
One rope. Three days. And two hearts on the line.
Justin has had enough. Ella, the woman who healed his broken heart, has been cancelling on him for two months straight. Sure, she’s busy with her job, which has her traveling far and wide. But that never stopped her from sharing nights of trivia, long conversations and blazing hot sex—until now. Truth to tell, he misses their easy friendship, the way her sighs fill his ear as he fills her body.
What he can’t figure out is, what’s changed?
At work, Ella finds it easy to talk to rooms full of strangers. Once back at her lonely apartment, though, she’s back to her painfully shy self—until Justin. Their chance meeting grew over the months into a year-long affair, but she can’t shake the feeling that rejection and pain are just around the corner. Best thing to do? End it now, before their intimacy digs too deep.
Suddenly he’s at her door with a length of neon-green rope and a naughty proposition, daring her to say no. Just how good could it be? There’s only one way to find out…
Warning: The sheets are tangled, the hat is crumpled, and the jeans are worn low on the hips. The cowboy is hot, determined, and helpless in the face of bunny slippers. Readers may need extra batteries to get this one out of their system.
There are 8 stops on this blog tour, the final one being my own blog. One commentor from each stop on the tour will be chosen for presents and giveaways. There will be everything from signed copies of books to a signed black and white poster to rope and coffee bowls.
Thank you for having me and letting me tempted and tease you with Justin and Ella.

I love the smell of coffee, but have never developed the taste for it. There have been times (especially in the middle of winter) when I really wished I could drink it to warm me up.

I love, love, love coffee, but had to stop drinking it when I had to give up caffeine. I drool at work when they make it!
ReplyDeleteTHough I now drink tea, and still hate small cups. I have a great insulated mug I use that keeps it warm for hours and holds 32 oz - the perfect size for either coffee or tea IMHO.

The coffee bowl is such a cool idea. I have to put them on my gift list to give out when I need something cool or different! jepeb AT verizon DOT net
ReplyDeleteAren't the coffee bowls fun, y'all! I was so stoked to learn about them. Now, in the book, Justin uses a soup bowl for Ella's coffee, but it's definitely the thought that counts.
ReplyDeleteI drink coffee in big cups but small amounts. Usually only 6oz at a time. If it's a latte, then of course I use the whole cup because of the mountain of whipped cream, but that's a whole other story...
Jen, I have thought the same thing about giving the coffee bowls as gifts to my coffee loving friends/family.
Coffee is a complete addiction and I love it. I haven't always, but I do now and writing and a cup of coffee go hand in hand with me.

I am not a coffe drinker, I like tea but I love bowls to put things in. I think there is a country where people use bowls instead of cups for their coffe.
