The Lair is very happy to have Andrea Speed over to play with us!! Make sure to stick around at the end for the Giveaway!!!!
Welcome to the Lair Ms. Andrea... Let's get started...
Why don't you tell us a little about yourself.... Something that we cannot Google about you, lol!
Since you are a new to me author, I am hoping to bring you to the light of others! So share away!
When I was a teenager, I had to see a therapist about my depression. According to him, I “broke” his depression scale – I had rated on the highest end of the adult depression scale, bypassing teen entirely. I actually found that funny, and I still do. I broke someone's depression scale! How do you do that? I'm thinking he had weird scales.
Tell us a little about your book?
Peek A Boo is the second in the Josh of the Damned series, which has a convenience store clerk on the night shift dealing with all sorts of monsters, who are generally just there to buy snack items. But they bring along their own set of problems, especially this time, as he is visited by a yeti with whom he has major communication issues. But something happens involving human customers and the yeti that shakes Josh up a bit.
How much emotion does it take from you to write?
It really depends on the story, Most of the Josh stories are just fun.
What is your favorite part of the book (story)?
I loved all the bits between Josh and the yeti. Clearly they're speaking different languages.
What was your favorite scene to write?
Probably the yeti interrupting a bad situation. I love it when all hell breaks loose.
You can only pick 3 words for your main characters..what would they be? *to describe your main characters*
Accepting, strange, funny.
Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why??
Josh is always easy. He's just a guy – an accepting guy, fairly easy going, although he only has a slight grasp on what's going on around him. I suppose the yeti was the hardest, because he had to be essentially alien and doesn't talk, but his mood and intent has to be crystal clear.
How many books are you shooting for in this series??
That's a hard question to answer. All I can safely say is there's more in the pipeline, and I'm building to a bigger adventure for Josh.
What are you currently working on?
More in the Josh series, a fantasy novel for Riptide, and a prequel of my Infected series. That's just for starters.
Do you have anything due to release soon?
Besides this? As of press time, no.
What's one thing that you enjoy about writing?
Horror and humor, which is why the Josh series is heaven for me. I can do them both at once.
Since we're cover hussies....what was your first impression of your cover?
I loved it. I love me some monsters.
What do you prefer ebooks or paperbacks?
E-books are fantastic, and I'll never say a word against them … but there is something really nice about holding a paperback in your hand.
Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try?
Umm … maybe historical? I wouldn't dare, because I'm sure I'd get every single detail wrong, but every now and then I have an idea.
Okay.... personal time!!!! Oh yeah, I go there... Hahah...
If you thought you were safe... Nah... Forgot it... Not a chance! We will start off slow and easy, I promise!
What is on your night stand/dresser?
Clock, flashlight, cat laser toy, coaster shaped like a squashed little man, a smattering of pens and bookmarks.
What are you listening to you right now?
Oh dear. Too, too much to actually cover here. I have soundtracks on 8tracks -http://8tracks.com/notmanos - that should give everyone an idea.
What are you reading right now?
Justin Evans' The White Devil. Great book; really absorbing.
What is your favorite season? Holiday? I don't know that I have a favorite season. Maybe fall, just to be contrary. Holiday? Halloween is the only holiday that exists, as far as I'm concerned.
And what has been your best b-day present ever?? Getting a book published! It was around my birthday and it was really exciting. But if you mean an actual gift from someone else, I'd say this nifty digital camera.
Hard and Quick Time! Don't think... Just answer! Okay, before we go this route, I will get us a refill on our drinks... I will be right back...
You know you do... Quickie time... Think fast....
Are you a quickie kind girl? Not really. Although it depends on what kind of quickie you mean...
Dark or Milk Chocolate? 100% dark.
Whipped or Melted?Again, I need context! Probably melted.
Straight up or with a twist – sex? Twist, I suppose.
What's ur fave drink - in a glass or on him? Ginger beer.
Spank or Flogger? Give me a cat o'nine tails.
Junk or Health Food? I really should be healthy, but junk food is so nice ...
Ties or Chains? Again, context! But let's go with chains.
Leather or Lace? Leather.
Soft or Hard... Bed, where was your mind? Soft.
Control or Be Controlled? I'm the Dictator For Life around here.
Hot Wax or Whip Cream? Let's go whipped this time.
Vampire or Werewolf? Werecat!
Here's the blurb for Pretty Monsters:
Josh knew the night shift at the Quik-Mart would be full of freaks and geeks—and that was before the hell portal opened in the parking lot. Still, he likes to think he can roll with things. Sure, the zombies make a mess sometimes, but at least they never reach for anything more threatening than frozen burritos.
Besides, it’s not all lizard-monsters and the walking dead. There’s also the mysterious hottie with the sly red lips and a taste for sweets.
Josh has had the hots for Hot Guy since the moment he laid eyes on him, and it seems Hot Guy might be sweet on Josh too. Now if only Josh could figure out whether that’s a good thing, a bad thing, or something in between. After all, with a hell vortex just a stone’s throw away, Josh has learned to take nothing at face value—even if it’s a very, very pretty face.
This title is #1 of the Josh of the Damned series.

Here's the blurb from Peek-A-Boo:
As night-shift clerk at the go-to Quik-Mart for monsters with the munchies, Josh Caplan believes he’s seen it all. Battling lizard men, werewolves chasing cars in the parking lot . . . nothing fazes Josh anymore.
Or so he thinks, at least, until a yeti with poor communication skills drops a dead skunk on the checkout counter. Josh can’t figure what a living, breathing shag carpet wants with him, or why it won’t leave him alone no matter how hard he ignores it. But hey, at least it seems harmless . . . if perhaps a little slow on the draw.
But Sasquatch is plenty fast when two of Josh’s human customers try to out-monster the monsters. Times are strange when creatures from the hell portal save the day, but in the protective hands of a lovesick yeti and a sexy vampire boyfriend, Josh realizes that maybe his new normal isn’t so bad after all.
This title is #2 of the Josh of the Damned series.

My thoughts on the book!
The story picks up where Josh's first encounter ends...
Except this time... Instead of his hottie vampire boyfriend...
He makes a friend that he is not to sure he wants... a Yeti
I have to say that Ms. Speed kept me chuckling through this one as well.
And I do have to hand it to Andrea for keeping the story interesting and fresh... Well, when you read this story, it is not quite so fresh, hahahaha!
But I was very happy to see Colin return! But with that said, I am kinda wondering if our convenience store clerk will find someone else who will make his nights worth while...
