Italian Review: Forbidden Pleasure by Lora Leigh

Lora Leigh
Forbidden Pleasure

The Club is private, exclusive and only for those men whose fantasies run to the more forbidden side. . . People have heard only fleeting rumors about The Club. Located just outside Washington, D.C., only its members know where men go when they want to indulge the desire to share their women with a carefully selected male partner. Former FBI agent John ‘Mac’ McCoy resigned his membership from The Club when he married Keiley Hardin. Tempting and innocent, sweet and sexy, she would never accept Mac’s desires to share her with another man. However, Keiley’s growing curiosity and Mac’s own fantasies of sharing his wife haunt his dreams. And his passions.Unable to wait any longer, Mac invites his best friend Jethro Riggs, to their home with the intention of drawing Keiley into the pleasures that can only be achieved when two men love the same woman. But there’s more going on in Mac’s neck of the woods than a little additional pleasure. A past case involving a stalker who likes to play games has shown up again, but now Keiley is in the middle of it all. Passion and pleasure, danger and desire combine as the forbidden becomes an addiction none of them can escape.

I obtained the above information from Ms. Lora's webiste.

Let me start off by saying that this is my first Lora Leigh book and... I read it out of series. This is book 9 in the series. Yes, you read right... nine. I skipped all those books to read this one. But that does not change the outcome of the review though. I was never lost with characters or the coming and goings of them. From what I gather, the only thing that carries forward is the Club the men visit. Where a man (husband, boyfriend.. whatever) picks a third. When I say third, I mean he picks another man to share his partner with. This book has no m/m scenes it at all. (For those of you that stray away from those kind of books ~ it is safe to say you can read this one.

Mac and Jethro are both pure males and both dominate in their own way. So, there is no touching going on between them (even though in my little hussy mind, I really wanted to see some action between them two... it would have been hot ~ what?!?!). Anyway....

Keiley is not like most women I know. She is a virgin at the age of 27. Which I found kinda hard to believe in today's world. But hey... remember it is a story okay. She meets Mac and Jethro and falls in love... with both. But more with Mac. Mac stole her heart and soul. She would give her life for him and he the same. But there is something simmering between the undercurrents of their relationship. Mac use to visit The Club before he met Keiley. Jethro was his third. Mac's desires are darker than Keiley is use to. But Keiley knows her husband had a dark past, she knew the rumors. But I guess she thought she could tame the beast.... Was it taming the beast or the adventure of letting the beast out the cage that rattled Keiley so much?

But with Mac's past comes his job... he use to be a FBI agent. His job: catching the sick perverts out there. And I mean sick. Jethro and Mac were partners before Mac met Keiley and fell head over heels in love with her. Her safety being his number one goal, he resigned out the bureau and moved back to his hometown, into his old home. Jethro just assumed that Mac would have called to be a part of the relationship, but the call never came... until three years later... When Mac could not control the beast within any longer. OR did he ever want it controlled?

Mac and Keiley lived on the ranch for three years. Away from The Club, away from the temptation of the place, the gossip of what would happen there... and just plain away. But what they ran into was Mac's past as child and the things that were left unsettled in his small town. But that was not the only thing that was going on in their lives... A case that Mac worked on when he was in the bureau was about to get very close to home for Mac and Keiley.

This book left me with a mixed bag of emotions. Some were - some of the story was repetitive. The feelings of Keiley and Mac about his past and her wanting her fantasies to stay just that... Or for them to become real. Her denying that Mac was who he was ~ a dominate, with a third in his bed. The other part of that was Mac. He denied himself his true person, his true self because he wanted to give Keiley what he thought she should have. Who wants a person to hide himself from their spouse. Isn't that the only person you are truly supposed to be allowed to just be yourself around. The amount of denial from Keiley ~ then all of a sudden her acceptance. It was kinda like - back and forth, back and forth. So that kinda bothered me. And.... I have to say (you are not going to believe when you read this) that the sex kinda bothered me a little. Don't faint on me or anything... Please. It is just that after a particular incident happened, they had sex and I thought... hummm ~ would I be ready for sex after something like this happened to me. So that kinda shook me a little.

But I have to admit, the way Ms. Lora worked the stalker into the story... was just plain BRAVO! That kept me in suspense of the story. And I never saw it coming either... and now, let's just say that I watch to much Criminal Mind and this blew me away.

The love affair between husband and wife is awesome but then add in a third and it becomes explosive! Just like the title suggests.... What is truly a Forbidden Pleasure?? Why don't you go find out for yourself!!

And remember... Keep it Dirty, Smutty & Hussy!
