Turn Around Tuesday...

I bet you are wondering why am I calling Tuesday "Turn Around" day...
Well, let me start off by saying that my work computer is as slow as molasses in the winter time!!! And if I even try to get online, it takes F-R-E-A-K-I-N-G F-O-R-E-V-E-R to upload just the home page... So, getting online to see what you guys are up too - is impossible. Then I feel like a smuck, because when I get home, I try to go visit everyone's page... I know sometimes you can't be Superwoman and that pisses me off!!!! Anyway... I feel like I miss you guys so much. Then I am trying to be the good girl and go to bed within a decent hour... (Yea, tell that to the books that are screaming at me to read them!!) So, with all of that... I am trying!!! I have dropped by some of your place's and have to admit that I am little jealous!!!

Won't bored you with all the details from the weekend... but I will share with you... My trip to Borders and Wal-Mart this past Saturday... I could not resist the 5th free book!!! And this is what I walked away with....

This book was actually in the back of one of Lord of the Satyr's Brothers... The book sounded absolutely delicious!!! Could you have resisted... Then for some reason, the next books... I noticed a trend... Ms. Lori Foster's name. I have not read anything by her yet.. I do have one book that I have been trying to get too... but I found these books to hot to resist!!!! Wouldn't you agree....

Then of course when I saw this... I immediately thought of my ladies at Lust in Time!!! How could I have passed this up!!!!
Then I went to Wal-Mart and found these two little gems... And what can I say, I am being sucked into the historcial world... Thanks to Barbara over at Happliy Ever After!

Then I won this precious little book over at Bitten By Books!

Now, if you made it this far with me... I have to tell you that... This is my 100th post!!!! YAYAYAY for me!!! And I have a few new friends to add to that!!
With all of that... Stay tune to my next post for a little give away... I promise to try to make it fun....

What's on your Desk Wednesday....

I have been tagged!!! Yvette from True Crime Book Review has tagged me for this fun little meme!!! Since I have never been offically tagged with anything... I thought why not!!!

Now, I have copied this from Yvette's page, because I am not quiet sure what to do... So here goes...

"What's On Your Desk Wednesday is a weekly book blog meme hosted by Sassy Brit of Alternative-Read.Com.
Here are the rules, and they are pretty straight-forward.
You can do one of two things or both.
1. Grab a camera and take a photo of your desk. Or anywhere you stack your books/TBR pile. And no tidying! Add this photo to your blog.
Tag at least 5 people.
2. List at least 5 BOOKISH things on your desk (Examples are TBR pile or books you haven't shelved...) List at least 5 NON BOOK things. (Like some of the more unusual items on your desk/table?)
Tag at least 5 people to do the same.
Once you're done, go to Sassy's blog and post your link. That way people can visit your blog and see the pictures you have posted."

This is where my TBR pile is hiding out... In my closet where my fetish (and still kinda is) was shoes... at one time, I had more shoes than books... Now the case anymore!!!
These books are stacked and shelved three books deeps in the closest... yea, kinda scary!! So the picture on the right.... that is the first row... I moved them out of the way... picture on the left...

Now, I tried to move them to show you more.... and more.... and more... Now the books to the back of the stacks are the ones that I have read already...

The next set of pictures is where I keep the books that I am currently reading... on the side of my bed. I finished with Addicted, but I am so Addicted to that book, that I hate parting with it in the closet. And I also finished Staked by JE Lewis, but have not gotten around the writing up the review yet... Lord Lindsay wanted his story out there first!! The picture frame with Friends on it, is me and my sister in law! It was my first LSU football game in forever!!! The middle picture (I know you can hardly see it) is my daughter, my godson and me at my daughter and I's dance recital a few years ago. Then the last picture (behind Addicted) is me and hubby (before he was hubby) for my birthday party, like 5 years ago!!! That was right around the time we met!! Whew... where does time go!

Now this is my only desk space in the house. We have a very small house (a little over 700 sq. ft). So, this is my space! And there was no tidying up before... Yes, I am that OCD that it stays clean. A dirty counter gets on my nerves more than anything... but also because that is where I spend a lot of time... bloggin, paying bills, balancing checkbook, you know fun stuff!! The stack on the side of the Dellette (my computer's name, lol) is a stack of magazines that I have not read yet... only because I want to read my books more than the magazines!!!

Well, that about wraps me up!!! I am sitting on that very stool right now typing this up to you guys!!! I am off now... to do more chores... cook supper and try to finish blogging to all of you!!!
OH before I go, I am suppose to tag 5 people... I am not sure how you guys feel about being tagged, so I will leave that up to you to take this and run with it!!!! I had fun sharing with you guys for I know that I rarely do... We hate being to personal on blog-o-sphere... but I wanted to share!

The Blurb:
He Is Ruled By Twin Cravings:
Oblivion and Passion…

Friends since childhood, Anais Darnby and Lindsay Markham have long harbored a secret passion for one another. When they finally confess their love, their future together seems assured, sealed with their searing embrace.

But when a debauched Lindsay is seduced by a scheming socialite, a devastated Anais seeks refuge in another man’s bed while Lindsay retreats to the exotic East. There, he is seduced again—this time by the alluring red smoke and sinister beauty of opium.

Back home, Lindsay’s addiction is fed by the vogue for all things Oriental—especially its sensual pleasures—in fashionable London society. In his lucid moments, Lindsay still lusts after Anais, who can neither allow him near nor forget his smoldering touch. Tortured by two obsessions—opium and Anais—Lindsay must ultimately decide which is the one he truly cannot live without.

Okay... Now for my Short Review!

Can you say "OM MY FREAKING GAWD THIS BOOK IS FREAKING AWESOMELY ADDICTED!!!!!
You need to go to the store or go online and BUY this book now!
Okay, now that I got that off my chest, I can tell you more about the story; however, I feel my words will not be able to justify this book. The play of words, the use of the language, the move of the characters, the emotions of everyone involved, the sexual tension in the air, the desire between two people, the secrets that are hanging in the air, the love that is in the heart that binds!! OMG!! Awesome. This is a book of love; true, hardship, lasting love. But this is also about a love of another, the mistress of the red smoke. If love was not enough, this story would have never made it. Lindsay and Anais really go through thick and thin, hell and back for each other. Now, if that is not enough... Lindsay is the best damn sex on a stick man since my Nicholas and Lyon (from Elizabeth Amber's Brothers). Lindsay is freaking sex on a stick with dynamite attached!!! He will blow your mind! And Anais, because I do give love to my leading ladies... She will make you ask yourself... what would you have done? She was torn, and what does a torn woman do... Get even... But we all know that does not work... Now, since I told you that love pulls through... you will want to read this!!! Just remember, my freaking inner hussy was screaming at the top of her lungs wanting Lindsay's attention... oh and I can not forget his friend... Lord Wallingford... The two of them... Can you say Man sandwich (it does not happen in the book... just in my mind, lol). Now on for the good part... my longer review!

If you do not have time for a long review... I advise you to come back... because if you know me, then you know that when I LOVE a book... how the long review will be!!! But please I want you to read it because I want to know your thoughts!!!

The Plot:
Two childhood friends, Anais Darnby and Linsday Markham, go through life together. By each other's side, through everything life can throw. Lindsay has been her cushion when life throws hard blows; her mother betraying her father and their family. Anais being Linsday's shoulder to lean on when his father was just to much to bear. They are what true friends are all about. Their friendship was unbreakable... Or was it...
Lindsay has two obsessions... Anais and Opium... Do both know about each other? What do they do when they find out about the other? What becomes of Lindsay when one wants to conqure the other?
But the book is more than Lindsday and Anais's friendship or Lindsay's usage of Opium....
Linsday wants Anais to truly know how he feels about her, all feelings out on the table... or in the stables "so to speak." What they share is truly amazing...
Anais has a friend and we all have(had) one... that is just a back-stabbing, munipulating bitch. Well, let me introduce you to Rebecca. Supposely, Anais's best friend, the one to keep all her secrets, the one for her to confide in no matter what... not the one to do what is known as the ulitmate betrayal!
What happens when love is put to the ultimate test? Does love prevail over the evil doings of the world (or of Rebecca)? Can it or will it ever be repaired? Can two learn to forgive and forget? Will pride get in the way? What happens if/when pride does get in the way? What happens when secrets that have been lurking come out?

The Main Players:
Anais ~ Oh my! She is such a woman after my own heart. She was raised with a mother who always thought plain of her, and even told her to her face. To know that she will never live up to the likes of her two sisters (one younger and one older). Her mother was always letting her know that a man of any liking will not look twice at her because she is "over-weight" and too plain. And... she is twenty-seven/eight... so that is almost past marriage material.
So, with all that going for her...! She has Lindsay; her best friend. She holds him in a special place in her heart, and that sparkes a kinder in my heart for them two! Now you have to remember the time period you are reading in... because I am a backbone kinda girl... and you can't have backbone without being thought of as trash back in those days. So, I admire Anais for the front she puts on for her family. Her mother, besides being a bitch to her, also does not care one way or another about her family or husband. She will sleep with anything that has a penis (or at least that is how I feel.) Her father would rather not deal with the mother, so he just takes a back seat to life. Her older sister is married and on her honeymoon at the time of the story and her younger sister is well... young. So, that leaves no one in Anais's family she can really rely on, count on... or trust in. So, Anais's friendship with Lindsay really becomes her stone, her rock. They only have each other... But her feelings for him run deeper than that of friendship...
She loves Lindsay for all the blood in her body and all the soul she has to possess. But hurt by Rebecca and Lindsay, betrayed by both friends... What is she to do, what does her heart tell her to do, can she stay away from the man she has wanted her whole life and loved her whole life, can she forgive him, does she think she can be forgiven by him, does pride take over her heart, if it does, what path will it take her down?? Where does one turn when the one person that you use to turn to has hurt you??

Linsday ~ Oh MAN Oh MAN!!!! SEX ON A STICK with dynamite attached!!! This man rocked my world! I absolutely adore this man. His passion for life and Anais, his drive for life, knowledge and sex, his desire, and his emotions... all run deep within this man. There is nothing light about Lindsay. He is the modern man in an era of stuffy men. He is generous, kind, lovin, supporting and sexy as hell. He is in love with Anais... always has been and always will be. That was evident from the beginning of the book and that sucked me right into him. A man that knows without a shadow of doubt that one woman belongs to him and no other... A man that knows... what it is that is needed in his life... Anais. He vows to marry her, but wants to the asking to be very special... but something happens... Betrayal at the highest cost... Actually for him... it was his own downfall.. His one problem, he love for his Opuim. He calls her his mistress. He loves to dabble in it/with it; he does not like to confirm that he is addicted to it. For then, he would be a slave to it and he vows to never be a slave. But when love cuts at his heart core, he turns to the only other woman who vows to take away the pain... Opium. At every turn of the hat, Lindsay vows to do whatever it takes to win back Anais... even when the secrets come out and things get really nasty... He knows that no matter what has happened... it is Anais that should be in arms, not the mystical red smoke.

Rebecca - I put her here because she is the reason for the downfall to happen to Lindsay and Anais. And besides, I wanted everyone to know that she is a bitch. I just wanted to call her out on that.

Lord Wallingford ~ Oh wow!! He is the man of many women! I put him in the players category because I feel in love with his attitude. When we first meet him, he is afoot about relationships, he believes that women are here for one purpose and one purpose only... to please him. (And believe me, I would be the first one to sign up for that job... =) But he also shows that he is a very devoted friend and that is odd to find that in a man, and a man in such an era of time. To be out spoken about such things. Wallingford is the guy every girl wants, but no mother wants for their girl! But it is towards the end, when he gives Lindsay his speech that I fall deeply in love with him. For there are things he would cross the sea and back to have, but have never found them. (And believe me, after reading, I want to give them to him.) So, he pushes Lindsay to see those things. He refuses to let Lindsay wallow in the past or the "she said, I said: she did, I did" things. I can not wait to see what Charlotte has in store for him!!!!

My thoughts: Okay if you have not gotten that I am absolutely smitten by this book, something is wrong! This book rocks my world! This story has absolutely everything you could want in a story: love of the deepest kind, friendship, pain, hurt, betrayal, secrets, addictions and even has some action ~ oh and some of the hottest sex yet!!! I will leave this section alone because I believe I have told you enough of the story... you need to read it for yourself. But be warned, you willm fall in love, you will laugh, you will sigh, you will want to smack the crap out of some people, but most of... you will walk away feeling like you have read one of the greatest books ever!

Hussy Purr-notions: Okay, Screaming at the top of my lungs for a taste of Lindsay. I think I drank more ICE cold water and took more ice cold water showers in the past two weeks than I ever have in my life!!! Like I said before... Lindsay is the epitome of what Sex on a Stick stands for. Besides my Brother of Satyr... oh man oh man!!! My hussy was not only purring, she was panting, screaming, craving and driving me mad!!! Lindsay and Anais's romance was everything it should have been and more. The sex was awesome. From the way it was written, to the way it read, to the way I felt it. Charlotte's writing is extraordinary. I felt everything and it was amazing! This is an erotic novel and it does NOT disappointment!!!! But the love story is there, I promise that! Hell, I even felt tears come to my eyes as well... This book has a well range of emotions tucked into this black little book! I hope you enjoy!

The Cover: This cover is freaking amazing! I am a lover of the corsets and big gowns. I love the gown she is wearing!!! And the red smoke is just breaktaking! Now in the book and in my thoughts, you read that Anais is a voluptous woman. I love the fact that if you look at her corset, you can see her skin pulled together to suggest that she is a big girl. (Now, me being a "big" girl, I know what this means to me... sexy as hell!!!!)) This is one cover that ~ without a man on it ~ I ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!!!! I even love the ruffle on the side of the cover as well!

It is awesome!!! This book is a keeper for me. It will never leave my hands. Hell... I have even read the book twice within two weeks. Just to do the review, I re-read it! Yes, it is that amazing!

And ps... for some reason I was listening to Taylor Swift's music while reading this... and the Love Story song really stood out for me during this book. If you get a chance, list it to!! And tell me what you think!

~ Every book is different to each of us, in it's own special way and every book is special to us in every way.
~The varitey in our books is the same in our friendship... we are all different, but together, we make up one hell'va a story!!!
~ We know that we can always count on a good book to make us feel better!! We call them keepers!

Those are just a few reasons why friends are like books...
I am glad that I happened upon you... just like so many of my books...
You will forever be on my Keeper Shelf!!!

Review: Deeper by Megan Hart

Deeper

The Blurb:

Some lovers never leave you...

Twenty years ago she had her whole life spread out before her like a mesmerizing map. She was Bess Walsh, a fresh-scrubbed, middle-class student ready to conquer the design world. And she was taken. Absolutely and completely.

But not by Andy, her well-groomed, intellectual boyfriend who hinted more than once about a ring. No. During that hot summer as a waitress and living on the beach, she met Nick, a dark haired, local bad boy. He was, to put it mildly, not someone she could take home to Daddy.
Instead, Nick became her dirty little secret; a fervent sexual accomplice who knew how to ignite an all-consuming obsession she had no idea she carried deep within her.
Bess had always wondered what happened to Nick after that summer, after their promise to meet again. And now, back at the beach house and taking a break from responsibility, from marriage, from life, she discovers his heartbreaking fate--and why he never came back for her. Suddenly Nick's name is on her lips...his hands on her thighs...dark hair and eyes called back from the swirling gray of purgatory's depths.
Dead, alive, or something in-between, they can't stop their hunger.

She wouldn't dare.

Okay... now for my words!!!

Short Review:

Bess, soon to be a divorced mother of two teenage boys, is dealing with a lot.
Her husband, Andy, is that guy that always screws up a relationship, but gives you those eyes for another chance.
Nick, the lover of some many years ago, who is still haunting Bess's dreams.
Bess and Andy dated while Bess was in high school through college. Everyone thought they were the couple that was perfect. Well, we all know how true that is NOT! I don't care who you are, your relationship is far from perfect. But that is how it looked on the outside to everyone. Until that summer Bess met Nick.
Nick was the bad ass of those days. He was the one every girl wanted, but every mother wanted you to stay away from.
This book was rocky for me to start because each chapter goes from Now - to Then and it keeps flip flopping. I found myself just reading the Then... then coming back to the Now sometimes.
And normally I am NOT a skipper.
Bess annoyed me a little because I felt she had no strong backbone. I wanted to take her and shake her sometimes and say "Hey... WTF???? What are you doing?? Andy cheated on you. And yet you go back!!!!" But that is her downfall. She wants everyone else to be happy; and sometimes that costs her. But you will see... that these characters are weaved together in such a way, that it will take you back to those days when you had options of who to date and when the decisions you made affected the outcome of everyone.

Now on for my more thorough review!

The Main Players:

Bess is going through a divorce and trying to adjust to what her new life is going to be like. She moves out of her old house, into the beach house her parents passed down to her. She spent her summers at this house when she was in college. The memories, the lover, the heartbreak, the sea.... all comes back to her! The sea engulfs her, mind, body and soul. She is a stable person, capable of holding her own. She is a person though, that does not like to move outside of her comfort zone. And when forced to step out of that zone... what will happen?

Nick is your bad ass. He is the one your Mom warned you about. Everyone in his world has betrayed his trust, love and loyalty. He is such a charmer that you immediately fall in love with him. Bess comes into his world and he sees hope - or a glimmer of it. He is a very passionate and sexual man. If bad boy, tortured soul is what you are looking for... Then met Nick! His body alone is made to be sex on a stick and when you read his scenes... Wow, you better have a glass of ice ice ice water near you... Because Nick will take you Deeper than you have ever been...

Andy is Bess's soon to be ex-husband. Now, I did not care for him at all... From the beginning of the story... in the Now and Then, I did not like him. In the Then, he was known to play the field but swears to Bess that he loves her. You know the type: you are good enough to have my bank account because I trust you, but you are not good enough to be naughty with. He is one of those. Once a cheater, always a cheater. I can't even say something nice about him. But believe me, I wanted to slash his tires, put sugar in his gas tank and some few other things that I would rather not mention... **yea, I am evil**

Eddie: He is my sex on a stick man!!! When we meet him from the Then, he is the "geek" of the story; pimple faced, shy, fluster very easily, and very self-conscious. He is in love with Bess and there is nothing he would not do for her. I love him, from geek to man, I love him. He is the one you need to keep you eye out for. He is the rock in this story. Not where I thought it would have came from, but when I saw the how it was coming... I fell!!!

My Thoughts:

Bess bothered me. I felt that she was not as strong as I would have like to have seen her. Having gone through a divorce myself, I know how rough the situation can be and especially with children. Bess has two teenage boys that she is trying to "spare" them the burnt of the divorce. She does not want to disrupt their lives. She is a people pleaser person; she trys to keep everyone else happy or comfortable, but does not consider herself to much. She let Andy walk over her time and time again. I wanted to b*tch slap her and ask her WTH are you thinking!?:!?! While she was in college, she lived at her families beach house and worked part time. I did admire her for that. She did what was needed, she pushed through life when she kinda had no one, but (gessh) Andy there with her. Until she met Nick.... the life she thought she knew, slowly started to slip away like the sands of the beach themselves. She was pushed out of her comfort zone. And we all know how we are felt when we are pushed out of comfort zone... it is not nice.
I will put a twist on this... Eddie was my hero in this book. You will see why, I promise. He was the rock throughout the whole book.
Now, this book deals with things of the past that we need to let go of. It is about things we never say that we should say. You never know when you day will come... and the question you need to ask is "do people know what you really meant to say? do they know how much you love them or how much you hurt them??"
Holding on to the past does not change our future. What you decide to do with what you holding is another story. Bess is literally holding onto to something that is no longer. Nick.

Hussy purring over the sex scenes. They were amazing, and there were a lot of them!! But this book is an erotic novel. But at the same time, to me this was more a love story than an erotic novel.

The cover meant more to me when I finished the book. It really captures the story. This book really is a deep book... pun intended! Nick is her sea... sea of lost love.

Mailbox Monday

What is in my mailbox this week.... Well, actually this was a trip to Borders this weekend... and this is what I walked away with... only a few... but I simply had to have this one...

Found out this is a series... and I saw this on the shelf and of course it was screaming that I had to get it, because the other one I bought was #3 and this is #2... you guessed it... now I have to find #1~!
Then, when I started going to Borders, I saw this one and passed it for others. I know... Now, I have read The Vampire Queen's Servant and I really liked the story and this one has been speaking to mind that I must get it... well, after those first few visits it was there... then when I was ready to buy it... you guessed it... it was gone. So, I took that as my sign that it was not meant for me to by at that time... well low and behold, when I went this time... they only had one and it flat out screamed at me to bring it home! So... I did!

What about you... what is in your mail box this weekend or what did you walk out the store with?!?! And how was your weekend!

Giveaway & Review: Dominic by Elizabeth Amber

The review for Dominic will be shorter than the rest... first because there are actually two books in Dominic... Dominic's story and Vincent's story. Vincent is the son of (MY MAN) Nicholas and Jane!!
Another reason it will be short is over the weekend my daughter has managed to sweet talk me into taking her and a couple of friends to see a movie today!!! Oh, how I hate being the Mom that other Mom's depend on!! But, hey, it is for my baby girl... So, I won't be here most of the day to response right away... but when I get back tonight, I promise I will!! Sorry to have to dtich on you guys! But here is what you have been waiting for.....

DOMINIC, THE LORDS OF SATYR
Erotic Paranormal Historical Romance
Kensington Aphrodisia
isbn 978-0758220417
(Over age 18 only please.)
Release date: MARCH 2009 .

Blurb from the back cover of DOMINIC:

A NIGHT OF PASSION . . . Dominic, a full-satyr warrior, serves as an important weapon in ElseWorld's war. Duty sends him through the interworld gate to find Emma for reasons he must keep secret. Meanwhile, Emma anxiously awaits her husband’s return home to Tuscany on a Calling night. But when Carlo arrives, injured in battle and unable to perform, she learns she must mate instead with Dominic. It is a night of hedonistic passion that leaves both wanting much, much more.

A MOMENT OF RAPTURE . . . Vincent is brokering peace in ElseWorld when he becomes involved with a lovely Shimmerskin female. Like other Satyr lords, he’s driven to mate from dusk to dawn every Calling night. While his brothers summon a different partner with each full moon, Vincent calls upon the same one time after time. He wants her to experience the same erotic pleasure he feels and one night she does—the magic is real. But so is the danger she brings with her.
WARNING: This is a REALLY HOT book. (Sexually Explicit)

Synopsis:
novella 1: Dominic, a full-satyr warrior, serves as an important weapon in ElseWorld's war.

My Thoughts....
Dominic's Story:
Imagine being a human weapon... everyone is afraid of you. That is how Dominic lives his life. He is the Chosen One in the Elseworld. His job is to take demons out and house them within. The only way to pass on this great job is to die. And the Chosen One's are picked randomly, so one never knows who is going to get picked. So, if a bad-ass is what you want... then Dominic is what you get. But the thing that turned me... is his heart! You'll see.
Emma is Jane's (from Nicholas's story) baby sister. She feels like she does not belong because she does not house great magical skills like her sister or the other sisters. She is the female that will do whatever it takes not to ruffle feathers. She took a husband, Carlo, because he has some Satyr blood that runs through his veins. Althought, I would like to run something else in Carlo's veins... poison. Carlo is an ass, he lies to make himself look better, he is worthless, crule, and a wealse of a man. He does not love Emma no more than the man on the moon, but to live on the Lord of the Satyr land... well, he would do just about anything. Even sell is worthless soul to a demon in the Elseworld. He really deserves all he gets in this book. That made me smile... He gets his "just desserts"!!! Yea, I am pretty evil when it comes to men who get on my nerve and piss me off and hurt women just because they think they can.
These two make an awesome team to try to save what they can... You will have to read this one!!! But trust me.... you are going to fall in love with Dominic...because he is Sex on a Stick!ling night. While his brothers summon a different partner with each full moon, Vincent calls upon the same one time after time. He wants her to experience the same erotic pleasure he feels and one night she does—the magic is real. But so is the danger she brings with her.

I obtained the syponsis and blurc all from Ms. Elizabeth Amber's web site --->>> here.

My Thoughts...
Vincent... Oh my gosh.. his dad is Nicholas.... ***fanning myself here... the hussy is already purring....***
~~~ Side note, I am having problems posting this... it won't let me save... So bear with me~~~
Vincent lives with a friend of his, Landon, on the Satyr estate. They are very close friends... so close they share almost everything. Even their women, or shall I say they Shimmerskins. A Shimmerskin is a mystical woman the Satyr men can conjure up when ever they need to satisfy they most carnal desire. They are there to please the men no matter what might be requested of them. So, Vincent calls upon the same Shimmerskin, every time. He created her to be exactly what he wanted in a woman. He just did not realize that by calling her to him "desire," there would be a price to pay. The price, his precious Shimmerskin becoming a real woman in his bed. And a woman that would soon fill his heart.
Cara is Vincent's Shimmerskin... that is the name he bestows upon her becoming real. What is worst is that someone from the Elseworld is trying to control Cara... and cause harm to Vincent.
This story has it all... betrayal, sex, love, fear, a relationship triangle... and of course my Satyr men!!! You will have to read this story, but let me tell you for 12 chapters, you will be left smiling for the ending is awesome!!! Since it is only 12 chapters long, you guys will probably eat it up within a couple of hours... if that!!! This is another great story about the Satyr men. They never seem to cease to amaze me by what they are capable of doing.
Erotic Paranormal Historical Romance
Kensington Aphrodisia
Blurb from the back cover of Lyon:
The last in a fabled line of otherworldly aristocracy, the Lords of Satyr are born to wealth, power, and a talent for sensual delight that mere mortals only dream of. Commanded to marry, these passionate men will travel to Rome, Venice, and Paris—and along the way will explore desires both shamelessly wicked and blissfully divine…
HE IS ON THE PROWL . . .
The youngest of the Satyr brothers, Lyon enjoys working in the family's Tuscan vineyards,caring for his menagerie of animals and bedding beautiful women. But he knows he must fulfill his destiny of taking the last daughter of King Feydon as his bride. And so he travels to Paris to wed the infamous Juliette Rabelais . . .
FOR HIS MOST LUSCIOUS PRIZE . . .
A celebrated courtesan noted for both her culinary--and carnal talents, Juliette is a voluptuous beauty with a body meant to tease. And with a full moon only days away, Lyon is quickly aroused. But after a night of intimacy, Lyon wonders if Juliette is truly a mistress of sensual pleasure or whether his sexual mastery will be her undoing . . .
WARNING: This is a REALLY HOT book. (Sexually Explicit)
Synopsis:
In this erotic historical paranormal romance series set in the heart of Tuscany’s centuries-old wine country, three half-Satyr brothers receive a letter that sends them in search of three endangered half-Faerie brides.
Charming youngest brother Lyon is so ruggedly handsome that his looks have actually caused women to swoon. Though he resents that duty calls him to wed and doubts that he can ever love one woman, he nevertheless travels to Paris in search of the third bride.
At first glance, Juliette seems a good choice for him, for he discovers her to be a courtesan. Their passionate night together leaves him sated beyond his wildest imaginings, but her magic results in dire repercussions that only she can reverse.
All the above is obtained from Ms. Elizabeth Amber's web site --->>> here.
I will give you a dictionary lesson, because I will be honest and say I did not know what a satyr was before reading this and it helped me to find out.
Satyr: Classical Mythology. one of a class of woodland deities, attendant on Bacchus, represented as part human, part horse, and sometimes part goat and noted for riotousness and lasciviousness.
Coutresy of
Dictionary.com
Since I found the Synopsis, I am not going to bore you with my short review. I am just going to start with my normal review but with my thoughts first... So, in case you want to skip the plot, the players and other comments, you can. Enjoy!
My Thoughts:
Imagine finding your true love/soul mate with just one scent. One word. One look and you knew. But the problem was, you were already bedding someone else... Yea... sucks!
Lyon shows up in Paris basically wanting to get the search for his bride over with... Really... being told that he had to secure a wife for the purpose of protection was not top on his agenda. He also never thought of himself as a one woman man! The reason Lyon is reluctant about this, is he believes that he will never find a woman to love. He wants a woman or many women to bed. Lyon is the randiest of the brothers and that carnal nature will get him into a tight spot.
He finds a "faerie blend" woman, Sibela and assumes that is his bride.... well... she is not what she seems to be.... Quite the opposite, but what Lyon does not know is that he will be tied to this woman whether he likes it or not.
Then he finds Juliette... or rather hears her voice, and smells her. Remember, faerie blend's have a special scent to them. So, he leaves Sibela to "hunt" for Juliette ~ even before he is finished.. ummm... having relations with Sibela. he seeks her out and when he catches up to Juliette, he realizes she resides at a brothel. That does not deter him from seeking her out. But she had a job to do... to bed him, not with sensual delight but with culinary delight. To seek out information from him out the pox virus and how the Satyr's kept their vineyards in good health. Her guardian and boss, Singore Valmont wants the information for his own benefit
In this books, the twists are sharper and the turns will be harder. Without giving to much (because you know I don't) this story is riveting. You will become spellbound. The web Ms. Amber's weaves in this one is awesome. This story is about... Family... Lyon's brothers need him to secure a wife to proceed with the protection of King Feydon daughters and to grant his last wish... Family... Juliette thought she was an orphan; left by her mother at the Hospice des Enfants Trouves (The Hospital of Found Children). She wanted to leave behind the life she was living now... until she finds out the truth of her heritage... This is a story of finding family and love. This is an emotional family/love story. And I promsie you, each chapter will suck you in deeper and deeper... but by chapter 8... you will be SUCKED in!!!
The Main Players:
Lyon: Sex On A Stick!!!
He can bend the Will of others and control their thoughts. What was good about him controlling thoughts and bending Wills is that where ever he went, he was sure to draw an entourage of women. ((In our time... today... Imagine having the power that no matter where you went... men would stare and follow you because they think you are simply hot and delicious.)) That is Lyon of his time.
Juliette chose these words to describe Lyon, "One who chose his own path and was confident enough not to bow too deeply to the whims of style.... For a man so large, he moved with sleek grace... A man who can laugh at himself - a rare animal."
Lyon is not a man to feel jealously over another man wanting a woman, but with Juliette, he wants everyone to know that she is his, he wants to protect her, love her, desires her in all manners...
Juliette:
She is a virgin... an important fact for this time era. When we first meet Juliette she is counting her steps, reciting receipes just to simply cross the bridge. Why, because she is fearful of the outdoors, does not like nature and does not like water. She works in a brothel. She is not the proper courtesan for she is still a virgin, remember. But she has other powers that make her to valuable for the owner let her go. She is also accused of murder when she was young. So, by hiding out (so to speak in the house) she can live free. She considered herself to be a coward of sorts. Juliette is just dealing with what life dealt her. And for that, I feel for her and remember the era we are in... women were not allowed to defy men or speak up or be bold...
Sibela: She is a Nereid. Equal part sea-faerie and she-devil. She is just as her title would imply... she is a she-devil!!! Actully, in the beginning, I called her a b*tch; but towards the end of the story, she actually redeems herself by doing something for someone else.
She is looking for protection from the Elseworld and Lyon is the perfect man to give it to her. She knows that he comes to Paris seeking a wife... and if she can bind him to her (by getting her with child), then she will have his protection.
Every story needs a b*itch in and this comes complete with one! Even a nasty villan who gets his just desserts!!! **yup, I am evil**
Now a few things I will include: This story will leave your inner hussy very satisfied. In fact, you WILL be purring and possibly panting very loudly!! The love scenes in this book are amzaingly hot, passionate, sexy, erotic and completely off the charts!! SMUT... ohhhh HELLLLLL yeah!!!! This book did not leave me displeased at all... the opposite is true, I was very pleased with book so much, I consumed it about a day! The book's pace was great, it kept me turning the pages so fast that I got a couple of papercuts from turning the pages and caught some of the pages on fire, becuase I was turning so fast, lol!!! There was never a moment where I knew what was going to happen; the twists and turns in this book is more than in any other books!! It was an awesome book!!!! I hope to have left you intigured enough to want these brothers in your TBR pile!!
I hope you liked the review... I have one more review to come!! If you liked the book review, please stay tune for more... Please feel free to visit Ms. Elizabeth Amber's web site --->>> here. Review: In The Midnight Hour
I am going to sneak this one in here.. in the middle of my brothers... Because I thought this was a great story!!!
Publisher: Dorchester Publishing Company, Incorporated
Pub. Date: June 2009
ISBN-13: 9780505527721
Sales Rank: 27,573
304pp
The blurb:
It was a bed made for passion, a bed made for sin. And even if its extravagance was widely out of character, even if as a studen she could barely afford its cost, the moment practical Veronica Parrish laid eyes on the antique four-poster, possession was required.
Valentine Tremaine knew physical love. In 19th-century New Orleans his name was whispered by many a mademoiselle, and in his bed he brought them bliss. But a new occupant now slid between the sheets, as innocent as she was beautiful. She was a woman to arouse more than the body; her love aroused hope. The mystery enshrouding his murder might fall away like the clothes from her perfect body. With Ronnie, redemption was possible. In ghost stories, happy endings sometimes begin...
In The Midnight Hour...
I have obtained this directly from the back of the book.
The Plot: What can love survive? I know it is silly to have you think the plot is so short, but it true to what the book is about... the ulitmate survival of love... You will see, and I think you will agree with me... It's all about love!
The Main Players:
Veronica:
She is a 27 yr old student at University of Southern Louisiana (come'on... you know this is one of the reasons I bought this book - she lives in my home state and besides Barbara's review rocked!!!) majoring in accounting. She is just your average college student... well, actually no.. because she is older than most of her classmates. She works two jobs to support herself and her schooling. She left home years ago, after her parents tried to "make" her marry the right "young man" for her. Her parents believe that a woman's place is yep... In the kitchen, tending to her husband, children and chores. The duties of being a proper wife. Veronica wants none of that... She wants to graduate college, own her own CPA firm, then maybe find love somewhere along the way after that... But now, she has no room or thoughts for men, love, sex... anything that would throw a wrentch in her plans. So what is she to do when she finds a man in the most unusal place of all... her bed.
Valentina:
Sex on a Stick!!! All the way!! In his time, he had legens of women devote themselves to him and hs generous stick!! He was the LOVER of alll LOVERS! He was known for his bedroom manners ~ which ever they may have been. That was in his time... Now, in our time... he is a ghost... who is stick in the very place that caused so many people pleasure... his bed. He has to figure out what happened when he was murdered... ready for this one... 150 years ago. Once he finds out what happened, who to and all those good details, his soul is released for an eternity of peace of soul. But is he damned when he meets a woman who ignites something deeper within himself. Will he go peacefully... or what!
Danny:
He is the guy you knew in school to have the hugest crush on you, but all he did was tutor you and never spoke up. Very quiet and shy person, but with so much passion that lies within! He is Veronica's best friend. She would do anything for him and he would do anything for her. I put him in the main players because without him... Veronica would not have had anyone to help her figure things out; to be her sounding board. And without Veronica, Danny would have never delevoped a backbone... oh wait... that would be thanks to Val!!!
My Thoughts:
I loved this book. It was a great short read. I read it in one day. I want to say that it was a sweet read, but it was more than that. I fell in love with Veronica when I first read of her. She is just an average person... Waiting all the good things in life we all want - career, marriage, family... and kinda in that order. She wants to show her parents that life is more than just being a "proper" wife. And she doesn't care that she has to work two jobs to support herself. I think that was wonderful. A real woman. She would never open herself up to anyone romantically because she feared they would get in the way of her goals. So, she buried herself in her books, school and her jobs. Val, oh gosh... what is to be said. I felt for him, because he honestly did not know what happened to him all those years ago. I mean, can you imagine... not knowing how or why you died. Just that someone murdered you. And he is getting the chance to figure out the why... but in the process... he is figuring out what he missed most of all... love. I love Danny too!! There is one scene in there with Danny and when he wakes up to find Mr. Happy!!! You will have to read this part!! I was killing myself laughing... and then when he finds out the "how" Mr. Happy got there... well that was funny too!!! So, this book is everything.. funny, sweet, make you want to fall in love and most of all makes you want to find a ghost to have of your own! The ending is awesome!!!! Oh... ps... I did cry during this book too... it was a slow leak cry, but I cried!!!
Hussy Purr Factor: OH WOW... this book makes me want to go find a ghost now... because if he can do that.. and those things... and he is just a ghost... Hell, I want my very own!!!
Hussy purring through the whole book! It is not an erotic novel, but it still had my blood flowing like the Nigara Falls!
(Side note... Hussy Purr Factor replaces SMUT Factor)
Pleasing Thoughts: Ms. Raye really went out there for this book. The book as a whole made me go look at my bed and wish to see Val there!!! The book never made you feel out of place - because it goes from Val's death way back when... to the current time. I never had to flip back to see something or try to remember anything. I love Veronica... she is an average person. She does not describe herself as drop dead gorgeous. In fact, I loved her because she talked about having a little too much weigh in the hips (raising hand up), a poochy tummy (hand still up) and just being an average person with female traits... It made me love the story all the more because she seemed like me! The relationship she shares with her neighbors and Danny. The relationship with her parents - something that I can defintely relate too.
Displeasing Thoughts: Sorry.. There was nothing disappointing in this book. Not even the fact that one of the main players is a ghost. That was a delight, actually. Nothing can come to mind that left a bad taste in my mouth... if there is something that you felt displeased you, please let me know... so we can talk about it!
Expecting Anything: This book left me expecting nothing... Hell, I was ever wrong about the way it was going to go... with Danny! But don't we look for this in a book... what to expect... and I found nothing that would give anything away.
Unexpected Things: Everything was unexpected, but in a good way. There were turns and twists to everything. Even surrounding Val's death. This book delighted me in the fact that it kept my interest up for a whole night to sit a read it in one sitting!
If you liked the story, please visit Ms. Kimberly Raye's web site --->>> here.
If you would like to read another review of the story, please visit Barbara's place @ Happily Ever After and see what she had to say --->>> here.
It's not an erotci novel... but you inner Hussy will Purr!!
Now a new term has been born at my place....
HUSSY PURRING!
The word after Hussy will tell you what to expect... purring, panting, drooling... you get the idea!!!
And for those of you who don't know... the other term that will be used at this place is a term used to describe my men...
Sex on a Stick.
If a man is hot, sexy, delicious, described as well endowed **wink** in all areas, has that sexual appeal, and is just flat out plain alpha and yummy... then he is now dubbed Sex on a Stick!
Hope you enjoyed!
Review: Raine by Elizabeth Amber
RAINE, THE LORDS OF SATYR
(#2 in the trilogy, March 2008)
Erotic Paranormal Historical Romance
Kensington Aphrodisia
Blurb from the back cover of Raine:
The last in a fabled line of otherworldly aristocracy, the Lords of Satyr are born to wealth, power, and a talent for sensual delight that mere mortals only dream of. Commanded to marry, these passionate men will travel to Rome, Venice, and Paris—and along the way will explore desires both shamelessly wicked and blissfully divine…
AS A LOVER, HIS SKILLS ARE LEGENDARY ...
Middle brother Raine is both sensual and stoic. Scarred by a former wife who could not accept his carnal needs, he wants no part in another marriage. But duty commands that he fulfill his promise to wed King Feydon's second daughter, Jordan...
IN MATTERS OF THE HEART, HE HAS MUCH TO LEARN...
This loyal satyr begins a search that leads him from Tuscany to romantic Venice, where his beautiful bride awaits, unaware of what passionate delights fate has planned for her. Raine is careful not to reveal his powerful satyr sexuality, for fear of driving yet another woman away. But unbeknownst to him, Jordan is no ordinary woman and was born with an insatiable appetite for love. And as Raine's heart begins to melt for her, how long will he be able to hide his true nature when Jordan seems to want him so fiercely?
WARNING: This is a REALLY HOT book. (Sexually Explicit)
I am posting this straight from Ms. Elizabeth Amber's site, please go --->>> here.
My Short Review:
Just like his brother, Nicholas, Raine does not disappoint!!!
Raine was once married, but his wife, a human woman, could not accept what he truly was and his carnal nature that was within himself. Marriage, you could say, left a really bad taste in his mouth. So, to be told that he has to take upon a wife and had no choice in the matter... well, you can just imagine how well that sits with him.
Raine's passion lies with vineyards of his family's estate. He consumes himself with finding a cure for the pox virus that is effecting everyone's vineyards but their own. His family crop, because of their own personal magic, will never to be affected by disese. But if something should ever happen to the brother's themselves, their crops will be affected and the gates to Elseworld will open and other things will reek havoc on Earth. Not goo. Raine's desire lies at preserving what is known to him all his life - his ledgency.
Jordan is a very feisty woman. She has determination and a spirit to match. She also has her own secrets... She is... well, if I tell you, it would not surprise you. Let's just say that she is not your normal woman! I do have to admit, this book was a little rougher around the corners... but it's read was definitely worth the read.
Why was it worth it, because these two together make for an awesome couple. Together, they can mend only what others deem as broken.. Raine's heart and Jordan's spirit. Raine and Jordan's journey will embark on some things that most people would find offensive or just not right. But through everything, you will see what is right, their love, their passion, their light within each other.
Will Raine be able to allow his heart love another? Will he find that happy ever after, after being broken through marriage and divorce and town gossip?
Will Jordan's soul be enough to allow her to let it go and be who she was made to be? Will the truth finally set her free, to live the life she truly desires?
I will give you a dictionary lesson, because I will be honest and say I did not know what a satyr was before reading this and it helped me to find out.Satyr: Classical Mythology. one of a class of woodland deities, attendant on Bacchus, represented as part human, part horse, and sometimes part goat and noted for riotousness and lasciviousness.
Now, I will skip my normal format for a review because for these books run together (I do advise to read them in order) and the characters go in and out of each book... , I will give you the plot, the main two characters and my thoughts. I don't want the review to be too long.
The Plot:
Raine has to wed one of King Feydon daughters in order to protect her. King Feydon sired three half-human, half-faerie daughters. And each one is in danger of some sorts. So, by the undertaking of the marriage by the Satyr's brother, it gives them protection. Raine's heart has been twisted already. He is a man of conviction, devoted to his purpose of vineyard. He has known to have turned heads of all kinds.
Jordan is looking for an out from her current living conditions. She is put on display once a year for her birthday as a medical study.
What she finds is a man who has seen her for real self and still wants to accept her. Will she allow him to accept her for the true person she desires to be? Will Raine allow himself to open up to yet another woman that he is wed?
The Major Players:
Raine: A Satyr borther, actually, he is a half-brother. His (step) father released him when he was thirteen; when his mother admitted to a long-held secret. He was then sent to the Satyr Estate where he met his real father. Lord Marcus Satyr raised Raine and taught him what being a true Satyr was all about. Raine is a very handsome and determined man. He knew what his purpose was in life... or at least he thought he did, before he knew he was to wed!
Jordan: She is a feisty woman. For as long as she could remember, for her birthday she was to be placed on display for Signore Salerno in the name of science. (Told you, you will have to read to find out what is behind her secret.) She yearned to just be left alone to be what she was - a human. She justed wanted to be left alone. She was never in a serious relationship, never thought she could have one where someone would love her for who she truly was.
My Thoughts:
I said this story was the rougher one for me to read. One of the storylines that I struggled with which I will give you... (no spoilers)... that I came across is the book deals with m/m (which I am not use of), one of them being a man of the clothe. There is greed, envy, lust and everything else you can think of in this book. Raine was a very interesting but erotic book to read. After I got pass the first shock of what people where thinking and what was going on... it was a gut-wretching read!!! Raine story is very emotional due to Jordan's story. These two prove to me that if they could overcome the many obstalces in their life and in their way; then gosh darnit anything is possible!!!!!
The other things you wan to know... SMUT: yes... oh yea... in all ways possible.... Anything Expected... nothing was expected from this story. This has to be the first story that really (and I mean really) had me not knowing what the hell was going to happen next. Displeasing: nothing. I had never read a m/m book before, so eventually there was going to be a first for me... and this was my first. And it left me spellbounded the way Ms. Amber did it. The book never lost sight of the marriage that needed to take place or of the importance of the brothers! I hope I have wet your appitete enough....
